Obama's political arm release new health care video

WASHINGTON (CNN) – President Obama's political operation released a new Web video Friday highlighting the story of a cancer patient whose insurance coverage was taken away after she was diagnosed with the disease.

The two-minute video, produced by Organizing for America, criticizes the insurance industry's practice of rescission - "a policy of retroactively canceling health insurance after a patient becomes ill." The video shows the story of Robin Beaton, a retired nurse from Waxahachie, Texas, who was told days before her scheduled double mastectomy to remove cancerous tumors that her insurance plan had dropped her coverage.

OFA released the video in advance of Obama's health care town hall meeting in Montana where he will talk about the issue of rescission.

ie.., 85% of Americans with great healthcare should want to pay higher taxes for less service because of these isolated cases.

Health care reform will eliminate fraud and fraud is what drives the health care costs higher and higher.

Oh, here comes the OBAMA sales job.

OBAMA is nothing but a CON-ARTIST.

His Hollywood made for media adverstising style worked for a while, but now that people see no details, broken promises, unproven track record, his USED CAR salesman approach doesn't work anymore.

    SNOBAMA is his new name.

We are all going to end up on the Gov plan. This nonsense of you can keep your plan if you like is crazy. Most of us are on plans paid for my unions and/or companies.... if they can save $x per person on the goverment run plan they will switch and you will have no say other than to go out on your own.

    Wake up people please!!!

What's this, an actual legitimate criticism of the current health care system, which doesn't reduce the right to radical extremists? This should have been the approach from the beginning, back in January, before trillions were uselessly spent tickling Nancy Pelosi's far left radical socialist dream.

Health Insurance needs reform not rebuilding and NOT goverment running it. Tort would be a great place to start... however this is not even on the table

I love all of the screaming and yelling over this issue. I love all the totally false statements being made (my favorite was the Investors Daily comment that if Stephen Hawking was from the UK, he would be dead because their system would have decided that his life wasn't worth spending health care funds on). I love watching people who don't know anything about the actual bill using the Republican buzz words and catch phrases like "socialism", and "our children's children will pay for this". If any of you meet these "catch phrase" people ask them some real questions about the issue, like single payer vs. multiple payer, or what the effect of economic growth would have paying for healthcare, or are there any other ways to pay for the government to pay for healthcare besides tax increases. Have fun when they can't answer any of your questions.

We need health care reform not government run health care. This bill will just complicate everything to do with your health. What has the government run that works?

You libs/dems are missing the point.
I want health care REFORM, not another player in the insurance game.
We do not need the feds acting like another insurance company.

Regulate the insurance industry... to add to it's misery.

And the next time I hear some lib screaming I'm a racist if I oppose the president, I'm gonna slap them. That's pure ignorance on your part.

Race has ZERO to do with the issues at hand.

$$$ being spent with no thought of how to repay it is the issue.
Expanding government far beyond what the constitution and our founding fathers intended is the issue.

    Obama 2012 ? Don't make me laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It never fails. Everytime a Dem has been given the opportunity to do good for America, they mess it all up. Only difference is it costs US taxpayers. It will be decades before another Liberal will sit in the white house, and or have a senate seat!

    Then fix that!

You don't have to destroy the entire health care system just because insurance companies cheat!

"Rescission" is a despicable practice, as is the "pre-existing condition" scam, but there are ways of dealing with those things that don't involve overwhelming intrusion of government into the medical industry. Obama and the Dems are just using these practices as excuses for doing what they really want to do–socialise American medicine.

We need Healthcare for all RIGHT NOW! Wake up Americans and stop being led around like a bunch of dumb sheep. The Democrats are in by the people and are for the people. Study the history of their party, they try to do good for all people. The GOP only care about their own agendas such as the war and backing the health insurance industry (which is the root of all evil) to line their pockets with your money. If you have to pay taxes, why not pay them to do good things instead of evil things. THINK ABOUT IT! Stop supporting these warmongering greedy pigs and think about your own people for a change. Please don't listen to them because they don't care about Americans.

Obama Care is a path to Socialism.

Obama never liked America for what it is and he loves to CHANGE it to become what our founding fathers never meant for it to be.

Obama I am so glad that people are starting to see your true color which is a Marxist with cover-up of liberalism.

Now democrats can call the people Mob, racists, or Nazi but reality is the people have spoken and will not allow democrats to take us down the path of Socialism.

Shame on the media for doing Obama’s dirty work.

how is such a spot not deserving of being labeled as akin to 'politics of fear'. the underlying message is that if the bill does not pass then we will all be victim to such a practice,.

it is frustrating as the WH and president are practicing exactly what they said they would not, using fear. i guess there is only one way to practice politics; check you concience, ethics, and morals at the door and say, do, and be anythign you need to be to achieve and hold onto power.

sad thing is that we really do need reform. with ideaology and politics being injected into all this, reform looks like it will remain a pipe dream. maybe we need to first define reform before we create a system to correct what we percieve as wrong. is reform about lowering cost and expense? universal healthcare? or addressing the abuses and questionable practices currently in place? maybe, just maybe, if we actually have a shared understanding of what reform entails then we can actually begin the work towards achieving it.

    sad. sad. SAD!

  17. Obama just did it wrong

All of the hoopla is really about "process" or the lack of it in this case which is the Dem's and Obama's biggest mistake. I read these blogs a lot and there is a sentiment that the Dem's "won" and the Repub's just have to sit back and keep their mouths shut because the dem's aren't listening. That's the problem! Obama is running this country under a 1 party system and has alienated half the country. We're not happy about it on either side of the aisle and it's beginning to show. Health Care reform is much too big of an issue to be tackled by democrats alone. TARP and Stimulus still smell bad and nobody wants this done in the same fashion. The country and all of its citizens need to be involved in this process with an equal stake in the plan. If Obama, his administration and the whole of congress and the senate had done their homework and drafted a rational, viable, and meaningful proposal to the American people as a whole we wouldn't be in this mess. It isn't too late to start over and do it right. You build success on consensus, not alienation.

the media is only showing the loud mouth idiots in these town hall meetings. So far that's all they do is show the negative aspects of this. I would be nice to have a new channel that is straight forward, CNN you are very close to becoming FOX. You have to many anti Obama analyst and it's very obvious. Bill Bennett is the biggest racist you have on your show. I cannot stand the sight of that big blow fish. I guess it would be easier to say who I like than than dislike and thats Jack, Soledad and TJ. Report the facts not your opinions.

If i could pick 5 medical tests vs. 10 primary care visits, I'd pick the tests! Who cares about "pre-existing" conditions if the insurance company are using the "non-existing medical conditions loophole." Anyone with an HMO knows what this is. I am sick of hearing about costs and insurance! I want to hear about CARE. I hope Obama moves us toward not-for-profit healthcare. Do you trust Uncle Sam over Cigna/United Healthcare/Aetna? I do.

It really is too bad that the large number of really stupid people in this country need to have such outrageous lies dispelled.

Come on, people. For God's sakes. Stop letting these evil corporate shills scare you. Use the brain God gave you and stop acting like such morons.

No matter how much you do not like it, the fact is, not only do we have a Democrat president, but he's also a black man. Get over your small-minded selves.

I keep getting emails from the Democrats wanting support for the Health Care.
Here is what I am angry about.
I voted for Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry. Hoping to get some relief from the necessary application of Vaseline that the Insurance Companies have been doleing out.
We now have a Democratic House, and fillabuster proof Senate and a Democratic President. I am wondering how all of you stand up with out a spine?
    GROW A BACKBONE.
Listening to the Loons at these town meetings is just a big joke.
You should not have taken a break. You should be at work to fix the mess left by the GOP. If I had that much work on my desk at work I would not be ALLOWED to take a vacation.
Just a bit of common sense. You should have figured out by now that the loud and rude people at these town hall meetings don't vote for you. The same people that show up at the Sarah Palin rallies are the same people that are yelling at you. This woman is stupid and so are her followers.
Go back to Washington and get busy.
If you can't see past the noise and do the hard work then I will vote for the other guys next time.

What ever happened to the "Uniter...not the Divider" mantra. I thought the President was supposed to support the interests of ALL Americans...not just the few (and I mean few) who agree with him. I am by no means wealthly but I am sick of being villified for wearing a Brooks Brother shirt. Its called a DRESS CODE...some people are required to wear nice clothes to work and, when they visit a town hall during their lunch break, should not be called a terrible person for taking time to express our interests. We shout because we have to in order to be heard. I seem to recall quite a bit of shouting when Bush was around. THose of you Liberals who think the media is against you, you are wrong. I did not see one article on CNN mentioning the fact that Obama lied...umm, I mean misspoke (again) on the fact that the AARP does NOT support this bill. Obama has proven himself time-and-time again to be a liar and overpromise. Washington as usual. Can they change...yes they can, but Obama is not the way.
