(CNN) - President Obama isn't the only member of his administration planning an island getaway this month.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is slated for a four-day stay in Bermuda this weekend with husband Bill, the Bermuda Sun reports.
According to the paper, it's the first trip back to the island for the famous political couple since a stay in the summer of 1979, before the birth of daughter Chelsea.
The Clintons had even sought to stay in the same cottage they did three decades ago, but the venue was unable to meet their needs.
The Clintons will instead stay at Cambridge Beaches Resort and Spa, a facility where, according to the resort's Web site, room rates can run as high as nearly $2,000 a night.
The famous duo's plans could be hampered by the fast moving Hurricane Bill, a Category 3 storm that is currently on track to pass near the island at the end of the week.
Meanwhile, next week President Obama plans to take his family to Martha's Vineyard, the island off Massachusetts where the Clintons annually vacationed during their years in the White House. Chelsea Clinton is expected to be on the island this weekend
The State Department had no comment on reports of the trip, and a spokeswoman for the resort said there is no reservation for the Clintons this weekend.
"Even if they did [have a reservation], we wouldn't say," she said.

Where ever they end up this weekend, I'll bet the Clintons are just happy that, unlike Barry and Michelle, they are no longer required to spend vacation time worshipping at the feet of the Kennedys.
That's Barry's job for the next few years.
Say, do you think Barry and Michelle have built up enough self-confidence yet to be able to travel without a plane full of their Chicago buddies – you know, the ones with the murky past that go everywhere the Obamas go... Can't help wondering who picks up the tab for that.

Wonder what vacation will cost the most?.......The Obama's or the Clinton's.......now that's an easy one, the Obama's. Guess the better question would be of all the vacations that Obama has taken in his short time in office......which cost the taxpayers the most.

It's a good thing this is on a web stie and not in a traditional newspaper where one would have to question the needless taking of a tree's life to report this non-event....
I can understand why many people don't like the Clintons. No doubt about it, there's an undercurrent of sleeze there, huge egos and always an eye out to see what's in it for them. But, there's a bit of that in every politician. What matters is that despite that, they also are driven to do good by the country and the American people. You might disagree with their positions on issues, etc., but my take is that there's a sincere desire to do good. Look at Bill Clinton's activities since he left office for clear evidence of that. Contrast that with our most recent President Bush. While he was in office, there was rarely a sense that he truly wanted to do the right thing by the vast majority of Americans. He was driven by other misdirected motives. Furthermore, I'd be very surprised if now that he's out of office and politics, he lifts a finger to provide any meaningful contribution to the country or the world and its people. It's just not who he is.
Have you ever notice that whenever the Clinton's obvious hatred of each other comes into the spotlight (such as Hillary's recent bristling when she was in Africa and thought she was being asked about her husband), their PR people have to come up with some stupid publicity stunt to make them look like they actually like each other? (Remember the obviously staged dancing-on-the-beach scene at the cresendo of the Lewinsky scandal?) What a sham of a marriage? What a couple of phony, shallow buffoons? WHO CARES!!
So much for it being a secret! I'm sure the Clintons are thanking CNN for keeping it a secret. What a dumb article...!!???
Who is really paying for the Clinton's and the Obama's trips? Obama wants Americans to cut back while he enjoys the cream. I love the way our leaders lead by example.
They're already in Bermuda. My parents are at Cambridge Beaches right now and saw them at brunch.

Same as the health care debate; basing broadcasts on speculation, anonymous sources and parsing statements and then accusing the White House of giving mixed messages when in fact it is the controversy desiring, specualtive "journalism" and partisan statement of the pundits and the for profit media America is now stuch with.

Please give us a break! These two phonies have made millions if not billions of dollars off their political connections at the cost to the American people. They are a couple of radicals straight out of the Vietnam era that would have thrown fire bombs except for the fear of damaging their future plans. I had hoped once Bill got done we would be rid of them but here they come again. It is like a bad bad dream! I would love to see how much Bill and Hillary have in their bank accounts, even the ones in Switzerland!

They are not like the Bob Sanfords of the world – broke and doing their leisure flying around on taxpayer money.

Best wishes to two very intelligent, caring people who have contributed to our nation. Like the rest of all of US, including inane bloggers, Clintons have their strengths and their weaknesses. No stones from here (and my weaknesses do not outweigh my strengths.....maybe. )
