Asked Sunday on CNN's State of the Union about Baldwin’s recent comments that he might move to Connecticut and mount a challenge to Lieberman because, as Baldwin told Playboy magazine, “I have no use for [Lieberman],” the Independent senator responded, “You know, make my day.”
“I respect Alec Baldwin as an actor and as a comedian,” added Lieberman, “if he wants to run, that’s his right.”
Lieberman has a track record of surviving tough election battles. After his strong support of George W. Bush’s decision to wage war in Iraq made him a target of liberal bloggers and activists, Lieberman lost the Democratic Senate primary in his state in 2006. Undaunted, the longtime senator decided to run as an independent and managed to hold on to seat. He is not up for re-election again until 2012.

Lieberman is a man of principle and I have the uymost respect for him.
As for Baldwin.. give me a break. Another left wing liberal actor that for some strange reason is convinced he understands politics, etc.

His disloyalty is amazing. To think that he almost became vice-president is truly scary. Would he have gone on to stab Al Gore in the back like he did to his fellow democrats?

I don't like Alec Baldwin but if I had to see somebody loose their seat, it would be Liberman. He sold out his party, changed parties and is overall a crybaby.

Prior to 9/11, Lieberman was known for being a good politician, and Conneticut had progressive consumer protection laws. After 9/11, Iet the feeling, Lieberman would gladly sacrifice America and Americans for the good of Israel.

Thank goodness "Tony" is from FL, so he only can contribute to Alec's campaign and not vote for him. Perhaps the Dems can convince Chevy Chase, Mike Meyers and others to represent them in the Senate with Alec and Al Franken. Heck, how 'bout Carrot Top for a challenge to represent the Dems for the White House after the left wing (read: base) of the Democratic Party completely obliterates President Obama's chance for getting elected to a second term? Nice work folks!

To think the constitution relied on the press to hold government accountable for their actions and provide the measure of objectivity required to keep the public informed in a responsible fashion.
So Franken has become the "sign of the times" and measure of how the public celeb worship has conflated with their political cheerleadership choices. It is a fitting end to the means.

Oh, yeah, the guy who used to be married to Kim Basinger until she divorced him for his abusive and violent ways...the guy who's own daughter didn't want anything to do with him. I don't live in CT, but Alec Baldwin would make a better senator than Lieberman for sure.
Alec is a Great actor, but while he is a great actor his politics just plain suck, as do alot of other actors views. Him and the rest should stay in Hollywood and do what they do best...ACT like they know what their doing.
We all know how "republicans" and Liberman is ONE, win. There is no an honest republican vote record in this country. They mount lying campaigns, they obstruct and send out phony emails like they are doing for the health care bill. If you found an honest republican they should have a bronze statute made in his honor because boy howdy they are very very few.
