Tennis, golf for Obama on day one

(CNN) - Among President Obama's first activities on Martha's Vineyard: a friendly tennis match against wife Michelle.

White House spokesman Bill Burton told reporters Monday on the Massachusetts island the first couple squared off earlier this morning, though it remains a secret who won.

Burton also revealed Obama is set to play golf later in the day with South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn, UBS CEO and major Obama supporter Robert Wolf, and White House aide Marvin Nicholson.

As for the rest of the week, Burton offered few details, saying the president himself doesn't even have a particular schedule.

"He's on vacation, so everything is a little bit loose," he said.

Burton, however, did dispel reports the president is planning on visiting ailing Sen. Ted Kennedy in nearby Hyannis Port.

"I heard some reports today that the Secret Service had visited Hyannis Port. I don't think that there's any reason to believe that there's any plan to go to Hyannis Port at this point," he said. "I think that if Secret Service agents were there, they probably heard like all of you already know, that they have great lobster rolls out there."

Burton also said it's unlikely Obama will spend much time mingling with residents of the 23-mile long island.

"His desire on Martha's Vineyard is to get a little break," he said. "He certainly appreciates the hospitality of the folks who are here, but his desire here is to relax and spend time with the family."

Bush's first untimely vacation of 30+ days in August led up to ignoring the warnings of the terrorist attack on 9/11.

Who cares; he hasn't spent a whole week in DC since he was elected. AT least when Bush was in Texas he was working and not out sightseeing and playing golf at taxpayers expense. What a joke for president Obama is.

No man I don't care how great he is going to change my life. The only one who can bring about change is Jesus Christ. I support Obama 100%. However, I could not stand Bush. Yet, I see how ungrateful I was. The Presidency is a tough job. And anyone who is sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania should get our full support no matter what aisle they came from. Quit pointing fingers at one another. Handle your business wherever you are. Quit worrying about what the President Is doing with his family. That's his time. Respect it.

    Bank of America Executives

    AIG Executives

    Wall Street Executives

All took Vacations from Tax Dollars and Bail Out Money, which they Didn't Deserve. Because it was not part of the Contract and was Embezzlement and Extortion.

Obama Deserves a Vacation at Tax Payer's expense because:

    1. Vacation is included in his Pay Package.

    2. Vacation is a benefit that is Contracted in USA President's Salary Contract.

    3. If US President should not be Vacationing then, Congress should Amend the Law and Bar the Presidents to Vacation.

Please relax well and nail that Public Plan after you return to the White House. It would be an embarrassing failure for the Democrats if the public plan is not passed.

Tennis is a very good game, but it seems politics has become a hate sport, with people like Limbaugh leading the way with how to hate your fellow American.

Is this really newsworthy? With everything going on these days, this is what is being reported? Frankly, I could care less about the President's vacation, as I care more about what he and Congress are doing to run the country.

Bush, Cheney and Rummy all deserve another vacation. Over to the Hague for a little question and answer session, which could possibly lead to a nice stay for quite a long time. Maybe even some watersports could be fit into the schedule. It amazes me the nerve that the righties have to talk about deficits, when their Supreme Court annoited savior was spending trillions on a useless and criminal war.
