WASHINGTON (CNN) - A Democratic official says the national party will hold more than 1,000 events over the next two weeks in its latest attempt to pressure Congress to embrace President Obama's call for health care reform.
Organizing for America, Obama's campaign operation now housed at the Democratic National Committee, is coordinating the "Health Insurance Reform Now: Let's Get it Done" events that are scheduled to kick off on Wednesday. Health Care for America Now, an umbrella organization of unions and other progressive groups, will be involved in helping to get people out to the events.
"We intend to demonstrate in the last two weeks of recess where the majority of American sentiment is on this issue – in favor of health insurance reform," said Brad Woodhouse, a DNC spokesman. Woodhouse predicted that "hundreds and in some cases thousands of local people" will attend and participate in the events.
Senators and congressmen have spent the month of August back home in their states and districts, holding town hall forums and meeting with constituents on the issue of health care reform.

Just name one program ever run by the government and Democrats that works without going into the red? Heck they're even having problems with the cash for clunkers scheme. Best thing to do is for the people to demand a Constitutional amendment to limit Congress and the Senate to only two terms.
So many people, even in their responses here, are yelling for things that are either already in the bill or are will not be put in this bill (like immigration reform?). Being from dc i know the city and the workings than vast majority of ppl and its really not the enemy. Its just a sluggish, sometimes nearsighted, quarrelsome way of operating...but it does get things done mostly right.
MOST ideas that are in the bill are very beneficial for americans, so you can talk (not yell) with representatives about your concerns for the few big issues and ask for another idea. Otherwise you just sound as annoying and crazy as the people yelling Nazi!! (and those who still think obama is not a citizen).
Obama wants too get rid of , old people, mental, and phyisical people that don't meet the democrat's idea of worthy, and the disabled vets.
Dem's consider these people unprodutive and a burden too society.
They will then take the money and give it too people who don't work, keep having kids they can't afford, live in free housing, get free food, and do nothing too contribute too society, except put the crime rate up..................lol
We do not want government control of health care. Private only! Vouchers...fine. Tort Reform...yes! Portability, and buying across state lines..YES! No public option.

Healthcare provided by the federal government is not a right granted by the Constitution. Healthcare is something the individual does for himself/herself through good nutrition, proper dental care, adequate water and sleep, no drugs/alcohol/tobacco, exercise. No government office can provide real healthcare. In fact, when we follow natural healthcare advice, it is VERY rare to need a doctor (medical insurance) at all throughout life. It is Americans' responsibility to save money to take care of the 'rainy day', which could be end-of-life problems.

So the Democrats accuse the townhall meetings of being staged and faked and supported by outside groups, and here we have the Democratic Party itself doing the exact same thing. To counter the very real anger of most Americans over the dismal irresponsibility of the Democrats in power, the Dems will not manufacture some of their own.

I support every effort to overturn the failed health care policies of the Republicans. Their HMO's, Insurance Companies, Lobbyists and Politicians have only made the problem worse and no other civilized country in the world supports 'for-profit' health care. I am just sure no matter how rowdy the get we will not hear about it or will they be called names by the liberals. We have the demonization of democratization by the liberals when it comes to conservatives. Especially when they are getting ready to steal more of our money for the unions, ACORN and George Soros.
