Rest in peace Sen. Edward Kennedy. 14 months of fighting the battle of your illness was a tough thing to do. Its a pity you have left us with our battle of Health Care Reform. We will miss you!

Ted Kennedy will be remember as an icon, irreplaceable for his family, and his life in the senate, although in his profound change of choice, he has chosen Obama and supported him in his race for the presidency against Hillary Clinton disregarding Obama's disqualification for his natural birth status. I did valued the man, but in this instance he used his power in senate than his obligation to the constitution that he sworn in. Beside that he was a great man.

Bye Teddy. You truly cared about and tried to help the people of this nation. These days there are very few politicians you can say that about. Have a nice day!

He was the giant & leader of the liberal establishment. I think Obama's time as President thus far would have been much smoother had Kennedy been healthy. Without Kennedy's early endorsement of Obama results of the election may have been different.

No matter what the republican haters and pundits say, the average American regardless of whether they were republican or democrat have lost a champion for their rights today. He fought for us the way a senator should. He did not fight for big business and the super rich the way republicans do. He remembered who elected him. American citizens and he returned that trust. It is a shame that there are no republicans with the guts, the courage and the class and character to forgo their political points and would fight for us, the average citizen the way Senator Ted Kennedy did. Rest in peace.

Rest in peace, Mr. Kennedy.

Never was a lover of the Kennedy's at all, but I am glad he is out of pain in a more peaceful state. He will have his place in history, of course, as with all the preceding Kennedy clan. Be it famous or infamous. You decide.

Bye, Ted.

R.I.P. Senator. I never really agreed with your politics or lifestyle, but I did admire your work-ethic. Hard working people are hard to find these days. Especially hard working democrats...lol.

Something else died with Ted Kennedy , in my opinion: an old fashioned sense of championing for the 'little guy', and against inequality of any type. You just don't see that anymore. Today people are into whatever they are into for themselves. This is why Ted and Obama clicked, I believe: the whole principle of doing the right thing regardless of how inadvisable that might be in regards to their personal interests. I will miss not only him, but what his star-crossed family stood for. The many sacrifices, and tragedies that they withstood, and still they would not be swayed from their righteous cause.

May God give you rest Ted as you're rejoined with so many of those that you loved and loved you best.

No matter your political beliefs or party affiliation, it is hard to argue that Sen. Kennedy was one of the greatest senators to ever serve in the Senate. Through his almost fifty years of service, he commanded the respect of his peers and wielded significant influence on both sides of the aisle, in ways few people in Washington ever have. What strikes me most about Sen. Kennedy is not so much that he had that influence and respect, but that he was able to maintain it for as long as he did. In a town where influence comes and goes, Ted Kennedy managed to hold onto his for almost fifty years and, now that he is gone, the American people are better off for the many years of service he provided us.
