Palin involved in another scheduling mishap

Palin will not attend an event Thursday at which she was billed to be a top speaker.

(CNN) – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin appears to be involved in another scheduling mishap, the fourth time in as many months organizers of an event expected an appearance from the GOP star only to discover at the last minute she would not attend.

The latest confusion involves an Alaska Family Council event Thursday night to promote a state ballot issue that would make it illegal for anyone under 18 years old to obtain an abortion without parental consent.

While the organization continues to bill Palin on its Web site as the top speaker at the kickoff for a statewide signature drive, a spokeswoman for the former governor says Palin had never agreed to participate, nor was she even asked.

"To this very moment, she has never been asked to give a speech at a public venue," Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton told CNN.

Instead, Stapleton said, event organizers had invited Palin to attend a private fundraiser for the organization - but she declined the invitation because of prior out-of-state plans.

"The governor notified the group that she is out of town, but would make a donation," Stapleton said. "And she did also mention that since people have already begun signing the petition, she could sign the petition when she returns in the near future."

While a source places blame for the mixup on the group, saying Palin has been "set up a few times before" by Alaska Family Council President Jim Minnery, such scheduling snafus appear to have become a regular occurrence for Palin, one of the Republican Party's most popular figures.

Minnery has not yet responded to CNN's request for comment.

In August, it was announced she would not attend a California Republican women's group event after that organization had promoted her appearance for weeks.

Confusion also surrounded Palin's involvement in events earlier this year including the Conservative Political Action Conference, and a major GOP fundraiser in Washington whose organizers had plugged her as the headliner.

Organizers at all of those events say they believed they had received assurances from her representatives, only to learn that either the former governor's aides in Alaska or her staff at SarahPAC had been unaware of the commitment. That set of advisors would then announce publicly that Palin had never planned to attend the event.

Palin did end up appearing at the GOP fundraiser but did not speak as originally planned.

While you are posting a who cares article about Palin, you've decided not to post an article on the 3.2 billion dollars that our president just spent by executive order to assist in relocating Palistinian refugees to the US. How does that help us here? Where is this idiots priorities. If it wasn't for the stooge that's behind him and the wicked witch of the west after that, we should get rid of the bum now.

If she would buy a calendar, she could write in her appearances so she would not forget. It appears that she needs some work on her organizational skills. We Americans avoided a trainwreck.

You can tell it's a slow news day. There are no comments on most of the stories posted and when CNN wants to get the comments and attention the bring out this lying, Unemployed, loud mouthed, hypocrit. I guess they believe this will get the comment juices flowing.
I am not worried about this getting posted. I realize I am not commenting for all of America to see. This is for the CNN moderator who will then remove my post and make sure no one sees it...like they always do

If obama is considered qualified to hold the office of President then Governor Palin is clearly qualified. Heck my dog is more qualified than obama and obama proves it every day. He cannot spell leadership.

Is it possible to go one week without haveing a story on this stupid twitt? Palin is thru, it's time to turn off the gas and put the grill back in the garage. There is absolutely nothing about Palin that is news worthy. Let her return back to obscurity where she belongs...

This is the 4th or 5th time I've read that an organization expected her to speak at an event and she later said she never agreed to appear. Its hard to believe that this this keeps happening due to no fault of Palin. I'm forced to conclude that the woman isn't competent enough to control her own calendar.

I'm always amazed, or perhaps I shouldn't be, of posters who spew hate at the Rep party, citing the Rep party of spreading "hate".

I visit numerous political boards, and I am ashamed to say that democratic supporters do indeed appear to be the hate mongers. At least the ones who choose to post their idiocy online. Naturally there are fools on both sides, but this doesn't help the cause. In fact, it severely damages your position.

A real live stage 5 MORON!!!!!

What can you say? Can't name the daily paper in the city where she is governor....I mean WAS governor. Has her husband harassing state officials from her office on state phones. She signed a bill into law that has almost exact counseling for Medicare aged people (Healthcare decision Day) as her "death panel" statements. The thought of facing this moron in the 2012 election is making democrats giddy. There is one major problem, though. If the Detroit Lions play George Bush middle school Warriors, how will the Lions improve? We need good ideas and leadership no matter which side of the isle it comes from. If one party concedes the election before it starts, how does the country improve?

It doesn't make sense why Palin would even support this org. It's my understanding that Palin is pro-life, end Roe vs Wage, so why would she support an organization that believes if you are under the age of 18 you can't have an abortion without parental consent. That orga is saying a female under the age of 18 CAN have an abortion when she HAS parental consent?

Find some real news, CNN. The first thing I thought when I saw this was she's having a nervous breakdown. The second thing was this- I'm letting them know she's not worth the effort. Get a grip! Doesn't the the ghost of Michael Jackson need reporting on?
