(CNN) – Former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio, who is running as a more conservative alternative to Charlie Crist in the state's Republican Senate primary race, called the governor's appointment of George LeMieux to the U.S. Senate "disappointing."
"This is a disappointing pick for Florida," Rubio said in a statement e-mailed to CNN Friday. "George LeMieux is a talented political operative and the governor's best friend, but that doesn't make him the right choice to represent Florida in the Senate."
"Governor Crist had a wealth of consistent and principled conservative candidates to choose from, all of whom would have been a reliable check and balance on the excesses of the Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda," he said.

George LeSeatwarmer should be given a chance. Although a political hack, George is familiar with the issues and might do a better job than Crist himself. Florida will be represented by an appointed senator for 2 1/2 years. Too bad Florida doesn't have special elections (just can't trust the people). I could understand if the "excesses" of the "Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda" were going towards... an unnecessary war, for example, or into their or their friends own pockets, or to the corporations of large political contributors, or to suborn perjury. I would be VERY angry and vocal about that. But the truth is, for the umpteenth time, that the excesses are being invested right here in America. On my roads, my schools, my health, my economy. They are being invested to resucitate MY COUNTRY, which was left ravaged and moribund by you-know-who. So please...enough already.
