'Tea Party Express' trucks on with tour aimed at health care

WASHINGTON (CNN) - They're angry and not going to take it anymore. And now they are doing something about it – again.

On Friday, the "Tea Party Express" group will travel cross-country on a bus tour starting in Sacramento, California and winding down in Washington, D.C. on September 12.

It's at that point, the group notes, that a three-day march on the nation's capitol will take place to protest the country's rising deficit and fear over taxes being raised.

The tea party movement gained momentum this year as several parties were held across the country this summer to protest President Obama and the Democrats' economic stimulus plans, among other things.

On July 4, nearly 2,000 advocates - toting signs and chanting slogans - rallied outside Congress. Activists said the TEA Party Day - an acronym for "Taxed Enough Already" - was in response to what they called runaway government spending.

But now, the focus is namely on health care reform – a key issue that has created the spark for a bigger, wide-encompassing debate throughout the country and in Congress.

"What brought everything together was the Obama-care idea, which contains every odiferous objection," Tea Party Express organizer Mark Williams said Friday. "Is it health care? [Ted] Kennedy care?"

These tea partiers are just using the same strategies by code pink etc... the liberal groups to attack Obama. They simply pick the smallest of things, make it big, and then attack anyone on every front.... it's not like a war, or whatsoever. Where were they when Bush and Reagan overspent?

I find it ironic that by protesting against taxes being raised, they are in effect supporting the slashing of medicare, medicaid and social security benefits to themselves and their parents and grandparents. There is simply no way that we as a country can continue to pay out all of the benefits that we have promised without massive tax increases. If they don't want to see their taxes go up, we'll instead see massive benefit cuts. I hope they like the idea of not being eligible for social security until age 75.

The revolution to take back the country has begun. Obama and his band of thugs, along with former Nazi sympathizer George Soros and the culpable media thought they could use lies, deception and slight of hand to install a radical puppet president and then systematically destroy the country. They got away with the first step but people are finally waking up to what is really going on. Democrats are going to take a severe and well-deserved beating in elections to come.

Where were all of you over the past 8 years? We're you all just sleeping or do you just pick and choose which things you care about? No credibility by nutcase groups such as this. They may have a point, but let's get real on credibility.

You guys didn't care about spending when it was for an un-just war. A war based on lies.

Why are you protesting taxes when the majority of the people who go to these tax tea party groups got a tax cut from our current President?

The government was spending at a deficit long before Obama. So, what is really going on here?

And fear of raising taxes?!? I, for one, would not mind a slight raise in taxes at all. I think paying taxes that go for our roads, our schools, our parks and yes, even healthcare for me and you.

    HA.

They're a little late with their "protest". Bush gave away our future with his deficit spending for the war and 75% of the Senate voted to bailout the banks. They should get their own house in order before they scream at others.

It would be nice to see the millions of uninsured and those who are denied treatment by insurance companies stopping the path of these busses all across America. Perhaps then these idle rich will see the enormity of the problem in America rather than looking at the rising value of their shares in "health" corporations.

The sad part is........some of these people actually believe what they are doing is helpful. They would have more credibility had they raised these same issues of the deficit during the last administration. As it is, they are being manipulated in the worst way........which could backfire on the Republican Party in the future, because when someone finally realizes they were manipulated, they tend to lash out at those that duped them. Hopefully, this will occur soon.

The ACORNS and SEIUs and other supporters of the radical left wing agenda have had their say. The Obama administration has demonstrated their desires for change...yeah, change from democratic republic to socialist dictatorship. Well, the silent majority is silent no more. We were complacent and didn't bother to show up to vote in 2008, and we've paid a huge penalty for that. We understand. When 60% of the silent majority doesn't vote, the left APPEARS to have the majority. What a surprise it will be to these loonies when we vote with a vengeance. The Congress is already terrified of how many seats are going to get turned over in 2010. The question now is...do we allow the pretender to complete his term as president, or will we have to impeach him to prevent any further destruction of the nation?

    Do these people have jobs?

If these people really understood and believed what they were saying, there would be no teabagging parties, etc. I mean, c'mon! "Obamacare: the time 4 dying starts here"? Come again? I heard a lady in one of these events CRY to a senator that she's afraid what will happen if the government starts messing with her healthcare. And guess what? SHE'S ALREADY ON MEDICARE! JEEZ PEOPLE, WAKE THE HELL UP AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE DOING / SAYING!

    Aim high!

These absurd tea parties are hardly patriotic protests: they appear to be further evidence of corporate manipulation of the America people.

A significant portion of the American people will believe anything corporate America tells them!

Another bunch of idiots! Just goes to show you where the GOP is taking the nation. What about all that spending that cheney and bush did in Irag? Funny how people have forgotten about that. Obama spends money to help the economy and improve health care. Bush spends money on a pointless war that increases the deficit by billions. Yet, these idiots blame Obama. Something stinky about these tea parties!
