(CNN) – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's first major speaking engagement after leaving office won't be in Iowa, New Hampshire or South Carolina.
Instead, she's apparently headed to Hong Kong.
According to the Hong Kong-based brokerage firm CLSA, Palin will be the keynote speaker at their 16th annual investor's conference in September. The conference of financial heavy-hitters brings together hundreds of CEOs, CIOs and fund managers from around the world. In agreeing to speak, Palin's joining some esteemed company: past speakers at the conference have included Bill Clinton, Alan Greenspan, Al Gore and Desmond Tutu.
The former governor's spokesman was not immediately available to confirm the speaking engagment, which was announced in a press release Monday by CLSA. Palin's team hasn't always been on the same page as event organizers who have billed her as as a headline speaker. Over the last four months, organizers at conservative events in Alaska and in Washington, D.C. have announced appearances by the GOP star, only to discover at the last minute she would not attend.
CLSA appeared firm in their plans Monday, telling reporters that Palin is making her first trip to Asia. "As the first female governor of Alaska and the youngest person ever elected governor of that state, Palin has broken new ground in U.S. politics and we are delighted that she will make her first visit to Asia to present at the CLSA Investors' Forum," CLSA chairman Jonathan Sloane said in a statement.
Since departing office in July, Palin has been busy writing her book, a memoir set to be published in spring 2010 by HarperCollins. Her father Chuck Heath told The (Spokane, Washington) Spokesman-Review Friday that his daughter "has been out of town for almost a month now" working on the draft.
"I don't know exactly where she is, but she's writing her book," Heath said. "She e-mails me quite frequently. She asks, 'Oh, what happened on June 13, 1978?' This is material for her book."
Heath said Palin asks him about "trivial things like maybe a basketball game, 'How many points did I score here?' 'When did we go to the Boston Marathon?' Mainly sports."

She can see Hong Kong from her house too, but that is a different window. She cannot remember doing anything significant.

Mistake #1: Letting Sarah Palin out of the country, where she might give the impression that the rest of us are like her, or even tolerant of her nonsense.
Mistake #2: Letting Sarah Palin speak in public, when she still cannot string together a coherent sentence, still cant account for her public behavior, and still thinks that she has a future in national politics.
Mistake #3: Covering yet another trivial detail of Sarah Palin's daily doings.
Sarah Palin still has no idea that her nomination was a political attempt to 'Jump the shark', based not on some strong resume involving statesmanship and understanding of the issues, but on her ability to be photogenic and 'invigorate a younger generation of the right wing'. All this goes over her hear and she instead harbors significant delusions of adaquacy.

What could anyone even learn from this DIMWIT?
Good. She should stay there. She would make a much better Chinese sex-slave than an American politician. Or, perhaps they asked her to speak because the conference really does need some comic relief.
Apparently she has trouble speaking to Americans. Is it that we ask to many questions or don't take her word as the truth and look to verify it? I guess there was less of a scheduling problem because of the greater time difference.
I wouldn't be suprised if she didn't bother to show up. If the reports that I've read about her behaviors are actually true, I would consider her commitments tentative at best.
It would be intersting howerver to hear her views on global economic polices. I hope she is up for the challenge. I would suggest a top notch speech writter for this conference, no point in embarbarrassing yourself.
She wants the international stage not just here in America where she shuns her own party invites weekly. What in the heck would these people want to hear from her? I'm sure she is being asked purely as a novelty. I hope CNN reports their reaction to her magnificent oratory abilities.

Now that she's made her first trip there she'll bill herself as an expert on the Orient.
Some poor Chinese tranlator is going to be responsible for taking the words that come out of her mouth and have it make sense to the Chinese people when it doesn't make doesn't even make sense to the majority of her fellow Americans.
