Palin's PAC steps up contributions to GOP candidates

Palin has given contributions to a number of Republicans in recent days.

Palin has given contributions to a number of Republicans in recent days.

(CNN) - Sarah Palin's political action committee is handing out cash to some of the most conservative members of Congress, a new report filed with the Federal Elections Commission reveals.

According to the latest disclosure with the FEC, SarahPac has donated to money to Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann, Tennessee Rep. Marsha Blackburn, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch and Senate hopeful Rob Portman of Ohio.

Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton confirms the former Alaska governor's committee did donate $1,000 to each of those Republicans, as well as $2,500 to Virginia gubernatorial hopeful Bob McDonnell, now dealing with fallout from the revelation of a controversial 20-year-old thesis.

The donations come more than a week after SarahPAC was notified by the FEC that it violated federal election law with the donations it gave to Sens. John McCain and Lisa Murkowski earlier this year. Because the PAC had only given money to two candidates, it was only allowed to donate $4,800 to them per election cycle. (The PAC had donated $5,000 and received a refund of $200 from both McCain and Murkowski.)

But with the recent additional donations, the PAC now qualifies as a "multi-candidate PAC" and is allowed to give $10,000 to a candidate per cycle

It's just a drop in a very big barrel of what the GOP is to going to raise in the next couple years. Will CNN report every time a private citizen donates to the GOP, or just is its CNN infatuation with Sarah Palin

If Palin does go away (as so many of you keep asking) CNN will start paying Tina Fey to impersonate her so they can keep their daily Palin bashing page going.

Say, what you want about Palin but Obama is now far less popular than Bush was at this point in term one...wheels are coming off nationally.

Palin's PAC also steps up the stupid. This is news? Who cares? Let's see some real maybe a list of every single person in Congress and how much they've received from private health care insurers, medical malpractice insurers, pharmaceutical companies and other big corporate entities tossing lies around to cloud the health care reform debate. THAT would be informative. THIS, on the other hand, means as much as my Alphabets Cereal accidentally spelling "God."

It looks like Sarah is singing hip-hop: "Don't you wish Obama was a fool like me?"

To take the national attention and "LIE" to the whole country through the national media with her "death panels", Sarah Palin has completely lost ALL of my trust. One who incites fear among the elderly has "NO" ethics and will be stopped. She's the reason I will take off work just to vote against her and her causes.

  14. Carmelle all the Palin donors, I hope you feel like your money is working for you. And if you are a working and independent woman, you just screwed yourself.

Let's see if she still donates to McDonell now that we know how he thinks. I would not be surprised at all.

Cheney/Palin 2012 – Change and growth we can believe in.

Now if Barry would cough up his doner list, birth certificate and transcripts from collage. We could truely call this a transparent administration. Or even Dodds coutrywide morgage papers.

Heh, Palin is such an idiot. Why can't the Rebublicans find outstanding leaders like Democrats Maxine Waters, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Carol Moseley Braun....oh never mind!!

This is news, other than the part about her breaking more laws?

$1,000 donations are chump change in the big picture of Republican government-for-sale to the highest corporate bidder politics. I opened this post hoping to find how much the insurance industry is paying Palin to spread lies about health care reform.

  18. Steve (the real one)

Contrary to liberal belief, Palin's PAC can actually donate to whomever they desire. Yes that would be GOP candidates. If I am not mistaken liberal PACs ALWAYS donate to liberal candidtates, right? I am amused at how hard the liberal hatred flows anytime CNN posts a story about Bush, Cheney, or Palin! I imagine the red faces and sweaty brows! I love it! Just one question, what ever happened to that "Party of Tolerance and, Big Tent" mantra? The libs have now painted independents as racist. Exactly how big is that tent, again?

  19. Expat American

Sarah Palin may be an intellectual leper but she does have one ace in her deck.

Her approach isn't the battle strategy of legends...she merely preys upon the bigotry, the simple-mindedness, the hatred, and the fear of those who don't see the need to ever travel within 10 miles of their place of birth.

Wrap that package up with a pretty face, folksy, slack jaw redneck jargon and $150,000.00 worth of Victoria's Secret unmentionables and this is why she is still around.

Palin appeals to the desires for escapism of those realizing that their ‘Real America’ (e.g. Land of Pure White Christianity) is getting smaller and smaller.

Who cares about this barbie doll! I think there are a lot more important issues that should be covered rather than reporting on this idiot. Who cares what Palin does or doesn't do? Frankly, she should take her PAC money and go back to school to receive a real education. Today she can't even construct a sentence properly.
