ActBlue raises over $750,000 for Joe Wilson's opponent

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Online fundraising site ActBlue announced Friday that since Republican congressman Joe Wilson's outburst during President Obama's address, his Democratic opponent Rob Miller has raised over $787,951 (and rising) on the site.  The first donation came in at 9:15 p.m. ET on September 9.

ActBlue Deputy Communications Director Adrian Arroyo told CNN that the donations have come in from over 21,622 people since Wednesday night's speech, a major jump from the 5,000 who had contributed as of yesterday.  Arroyo admits that since the fundraising push is viral, "there is no one place to locate what is going on.  You have DailyKos, Twitter and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee circling these issues. There is no one prime mover."  The mean contribution size is $36.

Two links leading back to ActBlue's donation pages have been clicked on over 9,500 times, said the group. Two days after the speech, Joe Wilson is still the top trending topic on Twitter - and ActBlue has benefited greatly, with more than 1,000 tweets about their fundraising efforts for the congressman's opponent.

Rep. Joe Wilson will probably go totally "postal". Something is wrong with this guy, now he's trying to blame immigrants for his outburst. What a nut case.

Time to remove the American supressors. Wilson is just another anti-american progression. No wonders South Carolina is in shambles.

These people are still proud of waving the confederate flag. Enough said!

That will be $750,000 dollars of wasted money. I just saw a poll that says Wilson comes from a Republican majority district and that they support his lier shout out. All the money in the world won't change Wilson's hero status with the majority of voters in his congressional district.

Anyone who raises money for Wilson is stupid! Wilson, go ahead and enjoy your pathetic moment in the sun with your cronies because it will end with a bang! Not for you but against you!

Go Rob Miller! I donated, and I plan to volunteer for Miller's campaign.

SC has had enough of the good ole boys – Sanford, Graham, DeMint and Wilson. The SC GOP should be worried about being booted out. People in the state are truly angry about all of this.

It will not matter HOW much the opponent has to spend, we are talking redneck backwoods all-but-the-hood South Carolina! These people fly the confederate flag on equal footing with the stars an stripes! Remember Strom Thurmond? Well, 'nuff said. Unfortunately they refuse to secede, as much as we all wish they would!

That will overcome Wilson's donations from the health insurance lobby. Now if Miller could get some of the South Carolina aristocracy to bolt from supporting Wilson, it could get very interesting.

And Joe Wilson is raising money as we speak for saying exactly what was on our minds. Is Nancy Pelosi getting donations for calling the CIA liars?

When Nancy Pelosi apologizes on the floor for calling the CIA liars then we can talk.

One man tells the truth about a liar...and now a horde of liars are raising money to elect another liar to do their bidding. Very sad.

I believe dollars to Rob Miller inflicts more damage on Joe Wilson than a congressional rebuke. I also believe this magnitude of money will instill real fear in this insincere congressman.

Just a little change in the subject here, but has anyone heard a word or a peep out of Palin since she got her HAND SLAPPED the other night on National TV when Obama (AGAIN) set the record straight that there isn't any DEATH PANELS in this Health Care Plan.......When they asked McCain about it later he thought it was not nice to have made that remark about (Some Politicians) (meaning Palin), but when asked if he believed that there would be DEATH PANELS in this Plan he said NO he didn't beieve that.......
