The DNC is out with a new ad painting Gov. Pawlenty as a 'liar.'

WASHINGTON (CNN)– Ahead of President Obama's visit to Minneapolis Saturday, the Democratic National Committee is out with a new attack ad painting Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty as a politician attempting to appeal to the "extremists" in the Republican party.

"Tim Pawlenty is spreading lies about health reform," the nearly two-minute web ad charges.

The ad titled "Tim Pawlenty: In the extreme," is a compilation of interviews the Minnesota governor has given over the past few months in which he calls the President's health plan a "joke" and claims the bill "might affect end of life decisions."

Highlighting Pawlenty's recent campaign efforts for Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell, the ad accuses him of "campaigning for extremists."

Pawlenty, who was on Sen. John McCain's short list of vice presidential candidates, has also been rumored to be one of the leading Republican candidates running for president in 2012.

Friday, the Republican party of Minnesota released an ad calling President Obama's health care plan "risky," and urging him to "slow down and do health care reform the right way."

The President speaks in Minnesota Saturday at a health care reform rally that begins at 1230p CT/130p ET.

UPDATE: RNC Spokesman LeRoy Coleman released the following statement in response to the DNC ad:

“Once again, the Democrats are desperately trying to shift attention away from their extraordinarily unpopular health care plan – especially on a day when the President is bringing his traveling road show to Minnesota in an attempt to sell his floundering government-run health care proposal. Minnesotans, however, aren’t fooled by the rhetoric. The President’s government-run health care plan would increase costs, increase taxes, increase the deficit and reduce health care choice and quality.”

When will the true republicans take back their party?

Today's republican party has more in common with the Third Reich than the traditional RNC.

As an independent I can say the RNC fails to offer any credible or remotely reasonable choices.

If reducing their influence is the goal, they are making tremendous progress.

Until now, Gov. Pawlenty has been a good guy, but rather than stand up as a real leader and denounce reckless Republican rabble rousing, he has decided it's in his political interests to join in and fan the flames of the ignorant Republican base.

Gov. Pawlenty, you're failing the test of leadership and courage, and I will never vote for you for President of the United States.

The Republican Party has been hijacked by lunatic extremists, and has become a national embarrassment.

Birthers, Deathers, Tenthers, Gun-Toters, Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Coulter, Wilson-THIS is what the Republican Party has become.

If they despise the federal govt. so much, they can all move to Texas and form their own hate-filled, fear-mongering, bigoted, greedy republic.

Then we Patriots can get on with the business of improving American lives through positive change.

RNC does nothing but lie while having a tea party! If you ever want to be considered a viable part of American politics, you'll start DOING something other than LIE, USE SCARE TACTICS, and do it all by using the Bible as your defense.

And yet, Gov. Pawlenty has balanced the budget in Minnesota, one of the most politically liberal states in the union. His government's spending actually matches it's income. Wow, now there's a great idea! That's the kind of hope and change this country needs!

The only thing floundering are the Republicans and have been since 2001. First we got Bushy – Cheney, the blantant lying, hypocritical, and arrogant Repubs. Unfortunately, after they left an economic mess, two wars, 30,000 maimed and wounded Americans, and over 4,000 dead.

They lost heir edge in the Congress and the White House, Now, the lies continue about Health Care as they please their puppet masters in the Insurance Companies, source of their reelection campaign funds and bribe money.

This Republican is fed up with the right-wing controlled GOP. I want my far more intelligent, middle of the road Party back! It is time to dump the likes of Rove, Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Coulter, the extremists, and find men to replace them like Gen. Powell, a young McCain, a leaders we have not seen of late. .

It takes common sense not a cool-aide party. The Left is using their usual tactic. If someone disagrees with them then you are a homophob, racist, idiot, in-bred etc. True defenders of the right to free speech until you disagree with the Left idealog. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that ANYTHING the government gets invplved in, they will screw it up and it will be costly and last forever. Duh, look around. Medicare, going broke. Medicade, going broke. Social security, going broke. Hell they haven't even cleared up the much acclaimed cash for clunkers program. What's the reason these aren't on the top of the list by the Dems if they are so all fired up to save the "people"? Inspite of this the Left is ready to jump off the cliff and into the arms of Mother government. The Left are the name calling lemmings, it's obvious, apparent and pathetic.

I suppose now that since the DNC has lost the battle on the Public Option for health care reform they are now trying to redirect the attention of their constituency to Pawlenty. It seems odd that with overwhelming majorities in the House and Senate, a liberal democratic president and the undying devotion of a slobbering news media, you would think that the DNC would spend their funds on trying to help in getting at some type of legislation passed, no matter how small. I think you can describe the attacks on Pawlenty by the DNC as being similar to a highly insecure person lashing out at others because this individual is deeply aware of their inadequacies and extreme vulnerabilities.

Wonder why CNN and MSNBC are not covering the thousands of people meeting in Washington to protest against health care and BIG government spending. They are also not covering ACORN. The Census Bureau has severed all ties with this organization., You must watch FOX to get all the news – for or against. These are big stories – why aren't they being covered by CNN and MSNBC.

What comments were radical? Nothing quoted in this article sounded extreme at all. Maybe the Dems are just pissed about somebody losing their temper in the Senate? Either way, liberals are full of crap.

Once again, CNN shows how biased it is to the Right. They posted Republican response to the DNC ad, but no Democratic response to RNC ad. Way to go, CNN. Your incompetence is astounding. I think yesterday's false reporting (boat practice) shows how you are unconcerned with the facts-but only to break news, whether true or not. Shame!!!

Pawlenty.........what the heck are you talking about?

Just because YOU don't favor the public option doesn't mean most of the STATE deos not.

Truth is that you know that if you ran for the Governor's office againt that you would more that likely lose. Heck you barely squeaked out the last win against some no name politician.

You didn't win the last election....you won by default since the dems couldn't get their crap together.

Why don't you go the way of Palin and just quit already?

BTW Pawlenty.......can you tell me what the difference is between a "fee" and a "tax" ?! ...........oh and thanks for leaving the state with so much debt........guess someone else will have to clean up the BS that you refused to.

Why all of this right-wing uproar over something as positve as healthcare reform?

When Bush and Cheney were taking us to war in Iraq based on lies and deceit, any criticism of their war policy was ridiculed by the right-wing as "appeasement" and "un-American."

Indeed, those on the right made it a point to suppress the opposition and go full speed ahead into war, instead of slowing down the way they want to now on healthcare reform.

    What a bunch of hypocrites!

This is the Republican bounce back from political loss of Congress and the White House. Health care is easily demonized and instead of engaging in being a party reformed they've taken to finding a big issue to smoke and mirror the nation into believing them right. I'm all for a sound and reasoned approach to any health and govt budget concerns, but what has been allowed to naturally and artificially swell is so close to a forest fire that the extremist who started it should face some type of charge and not a "Thank you" from like winged. If the far left or right are going to be in control of the majority of the country, then we've all fallen down.

Now a days all the DNC has to do is just put a picture of all the Republicans in it and just say, THE PARTY OF LIARS, and they won't be lying. How can they truly look the American people in the face a just lie like that, as if we're to dumb to go check out their story or there are no video tapes of them being hypocrites. Death panels, now who in their right mind will believe that crap, O wait, some stupid people do. Just keep doing what you're doing GOP and the American people will let you what they think of your party come election time.
