Wilson says no more apologies for outburst against president

South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson said Sunday that he will not apologize again for his recent outburst during the president's address to Congress.
South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson said Sunday that he will not apologize again for his recent outburst during the president's address to Congress.

(CNN) - Rep. Joe Wilson said Sunday he will not apologize again for yelling out that President Barack Obama lied during the president's speech to Congress last week.

"I am not going to apologize again," the South Carolina Republican said on "FOX News Sunday" when asked about pending disciplinary steps against him by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives.

Wilson said he already apologized to Obama and that the president accepted it. However, he insisted that Obama "was mis-stating the facts," and that Democratic leaders in the House were "playing politics" by continuing to focus on the issue.

The reason Pres Obama is lying can be found in the California proposition that was declared unconstitutional that would have denied funds to illegals. Two federal courts ruled it unconstitutional and the Supreme Court would not hear the case. Read your contitution. It does not matter is it is written in large letters in blood in the bill not to cover illegals, it will be overturned by the Supreme Court because no government can withhold "public" services from any group in the United States, legal or illegal. Obama is supposed to be a Constitutional lawyer? I say he knows this and when it is overturned he can just say "Oh well, thats the law" and being a real taxpayer, I know who is going to pay.

When Lincoln was elected in 1860 and wanted to stop the expansion of slavery in the territories (a positive, progressive action), paranoid angry Southerners grabbed their guns and called Lincoln a tyrant.

Now these same lunatics are doing likewise to Obama over healthcare reform (a positive, progressive action). This just shows how extreme these people are.

Winger screamers. Keep it up Joe and Sarah and Beck.

The GOP has crumbled thanks to the hatred, ignorance and stupidity of these people.

Republican fanatics are proud they've made Fox and Mcdonalds number one. Red states lead the nation in uneducated, uninsured unemployed and obesity.

Quitting school and not having jobs means you can scarf more burgers while watching Glenn scream that racist hatred you love so much.

Joe Wilson is a proven liar and his apology was demanded by Republicans who are attempting to hold the GOP to a higher standard.

Wilson is now seeking 15 more minutes of fame.. Give him 30 minutes. See if he can tell his party why he supported and voted for healthcare for illegals and why he lied.

Wilson is an uncouth buffoon with absolutely no manners. I wonder if his parents are proud of his antics. With people like Sanford, Wilson, DeMint and those others from South Carolina, it's easy to see what are the effects of a dysfunctional right-wing "Christian" state. Do not be fooled, though. These people mean business, and they are out to destroy the Constitution. Thoughtful people need to wake up. The country is becoming like Germany in the 1920s.

  6. One more nail in the GOP coffin

Since Joe wilson's contrived apology was nothing but one big fat lie, then it's just as well he stop lieing. Nothing like a little hard cold cash to embolden a terrorist like Joe Wilson.

It's disgusting the way Republicans mouth these half-assed, insincere, B.S., conditional "apologies", then suddenly declare they're "done apologizing," so they can go right back to the crude, classless, divisive behavior they apologized for in the first place.

Thanks for wrecking our country, GOP jerks!

It is not Barry Obama, it is President Barrack Obama. Check your birth certificate David. You are probably a relative of Wilson's.

I think we all need to be thanking Wilson for the courage to call out the President. This bill is a scandal that will have negative consequences for our children. Lets ask that our local politicians speak out during these addresses.

Just like the child who proclaimed "The Emporer has no chothes", we're not stupid. Pres Obama thinks he's smarter than all of us and we're simply in need of education on what is best for us. I have a wonderful health plan now and whatever he does (other than tax credits) will not inprove it. However, if he succeeds in pushing his "public option" and my employer ends my health plan and just subsidizes my enrollment in the "public option", I lose a wonderfull plan and now must stand in line for health care. Obama: STOP DOING ME FAVORS!

All of the posts calling him racist, hate filled, a liar himself, and "evil" is an example of hypocrisy that is prevalent in America. Every one of you posting hate filled emails calling him worse than he ever did to Obama. People in this country are so polarized about this presidency they can't use logic or their intelligence to solve any of our problems. To all of the people who oppose this health care, GET OVER IT! Everyone needs to have health care. To all that support, GET A CLUE! Putting the government in the middle of health care will NOT increase ease of access, it WILL cost TONS of money, and we really haven't looked at ways to revamp the current system.

CNN, why are you giving this racist more opportunity to rake in money? Why are you rewarding him with free media coverage? He can't buy this stuff.

When we got hit on 9/11, Dems and left-leaning independents put aside the fact that they could not stand Bush and the way he came to power and supported him. Now that we are facing the existential crises of picking up the pieces of the mess Bush made, Repubs and right wingers are willing to do NOTHING but pout, lie, and spit incivilities at at President who is more bi-partisan than anyone we've had in office for 30 years.

When Dems and lefties criticized (correctly) the build up to the war in Iraq and the execution of that war, Repubs and the Limbaugh right called them anti-american, cowards, terrorist loving. Ann Coulter called dissent "treason", and the right lapped it up.

Now, incivility is and extremist ranting puts people on the fast-track to right-wing stardom.

    Sad sad sad,

Hey! Listen up! This is America "home of the free". I think that it is time for someone to speak up, and stop playing at being a congress man. Listen to the folks back home, "Pay attention, to people who put you in office. I think, enough is enough. He said he was sorry, and out of place, but thank God. someone did it. Three cgeers for Congress Wilson. We need to pray for our nation and our leaders

LOL, calling Joe Wilson a racist for calling obama a lie about something that even factcheck.org(democratic websight) says was true. The racecard is so yesterday. Obama has been hanging with known terrorist and communist since becoming a community organizer in chicago and everyone turns a blind eye. Saul Arlinsky wrote a book called "Rule for Radicals" and Obama has taught his message as a community organizer. Throw in Van Jones, Acorn, Cass Sustein, John Holdren and his preacher and this is our president. How many radicals can you assocate yourself with and before people wake up. Not to mention, Bill Ayers. Wake up libtards.

If he felt Obama was- "mis-stating the facts," and that Democratic leaders in the House were "playing politics" by continuing to focus on the issue." The why was he shouting lie when ex-president Bush was driving the country for 8 year into another recession by making tax break for the welathy, yet stating that it will benefit our country....That was a lie. and what money that was unaccounted for that was sent to the war, that shoud have been documented......that was a lie. I love our troops dearly but when can we stand all together and say enough is enough.....Every can have their opinion but if think b4 we speak a LOT of common sense wont be lost. .....:-)

All of this tit for tat, petty bluster smacks of greed, tired, failed, shrieking GOP propaganda, racial prejudice. Fits right in there with taking this country back to the past, to a stage where "freedom" was only reserved for "certain" people. They detest that we now have our first African-American president and seek to discredit him at all costs. Shameful. How do these nitwits get elected to public office? I find it impossible to believe Christian ethics, fundamental job competencies, or altruistic intent of any sort was at play here. You do the math. The GOP is ever-shrinking. They can't see these red herrings are part and parcel of their decline. Everything they do lacks credibility, sincerity, most of all, intelligence. They lie about debunked lies. They are nine kinds of crazy.

we can thank glen beck, hannity and most others at FOX for this new pattern in behaviors. FOX talk show hosts have been so open in their hatred for our black president and got away with it, that now the low lifes that stayed in the shadows can openly come out of hiding. i feel so bad for the weak-minded and older folks that listen to this bashing and hate mungering from glen beck because they truely don't know what beck's true agenda is here.... take down our president.
