Media shut out from Palin's Hong Kong speech

(CNN) – Sarah Palin's speech to investors in China later this month will be closed to the media, organizers of the event confirmed to CNN Monday.

The former Alaska governor is set to address the annual CLSA Investors' Forum September 23, though the group is also declining to reveal the topic of the former GOP vice presidential candidate's closed-door speech.

"We are not disclosing the topic of Sarah Palin's presentation at this point," said Simone Wheeler, head of communications for CLSA.

Wheeler said much of the four-day forum, which includes more than 200 presentations, is closed to the media except for a handful of keynote addresses where the speakers have specifically allowed members of the press to be invited.

Palin, whose lack of foreign policy credentials was criticized by Democrats during the 2008 campaign, apparently was not among those speakers willing to grant members of the media access to her speech.

"For keynote presentations, it is the speaker's decision as to whether or not their sessions are closed. Several of our keynotes this year are not open to media," Wheeler said.

There has been speculation Palin could receive upwards of six figures on the speaking circuit, though the organization is remaining tight-lipped on that matter.

"We never disclose if, or how much, our speakers are remunerated," Wheeler said.

Majority of the media is liberal, unfair (yes including CNN) and will do anything to make her look bad so I'm glad it will closed to the media.

Ha! Of course she's denying the media access. She knows that we all know that she is nothing but a fraud. Just because she is a quitter and a Facebook poster (I'm sure someone else is the author), I would hardly call her knowledgeable about anything nor deserving of any media attention in the first place. Why CNN & Huffpo keep giving her print space is beyond me.

She's become the Heidi Montag of politics. No talent. And, nobody cares. Airhead. But, she just won't go away.

GOOGLE THIS – This is a set-up. Palin is more or less being punk'd. Not that she won't speak and not that she won't get paid but she is being brought in to speak precisely because she is a ridiculous and absurd character. I don't think the media blackout is her doing. I can't speak for why they do this but they apparently find it funny. Think about it – why the hell would a bunch of Asian businessmen need to hear from her?
As far as you morons posting that Sarah will tell them a "thing er two" about how bad socialism under Obama is...Hong Kong is in freaking China! They're communists!

Some CEO will record it on his phonecam, and we'll get to see it anyway; that's IF she doesn't back down and quit again.
And guys, yeah, she's causing great 'discern' among us book-readin' libruls, oh boy are we ever frightened. Did she actually agree to become the Face of TeaBagging? Now THERE'S a photo op we should all be allowed to see. Nyuk nyuk.

What I'd like to know is the price for getting in and how I can get the guest list.

I have some Lehman Bros. stock that may be of interest to that audience.

Doesn't really matter if the media is shut out. We the public and the media are a few centuries above listening to idiots like sarah. Especially idiots who can't assemble and/or speak a complete sentence.

Of course she doesn't want the media there. She's so incredibly ill-spoken, she doesn't want to embarrass herself by having anything quoted to the public. She's more than apt to say something stupid, and she must be feeling really insecure about it. Wish she'd just go away already. She has as much clout as Joe the Plumber, and thank goodness we don't have to hear about his every move like we do Palin.

Sarah is practicing her speeches behind closed doors/iron curtains. No wonder the communists love her.

Any REAL American recognizes her and her Alaska seceding husband for what they are, treasonous traitors.

I hope someone tucks a dime of heroin in her bag right before she is due to return home so she has to call Clinton for help getting out of a life imprisonment (or worse).

No Surprise......She's just checking in at 'the home office' to give a speech.....why does Sarah hate America so much? Too bad there won't be media there, to 'make stuff up' by, you know, reporting VERBATIM the dopey stuff she actually said. As for the 'investors' over there, clue them in that they shouldn't even think of buying a used car from this lady, let alone investing millions.

Does anybody really care what Palin has to say? I don't think so. If the truth was known the RNC probably paid the people who came to her campaign rallies. It seems kind of funny that now that she is on her own we never see or hear her. She claims to have all these invitations but nobody ever sees or hears her at the events. She always has some reason not to show up. What makes anyone think she will show up in China? If she does will she drag the entire clan with her? And will the Chinese have to dress all of them like the RNC did? I still contend that the RNC made a terrible mistke by picking her in the first place. But it was too late and they were stuck with her and that bunch. I wonder if the Republicans learned a hard lesson from that.

Let" see...How can we say something mindless and not have the coverage like we had in the past?
I know! Let's have the "speech" off limits to any one who might know something about anything at all.

I think there is progress if Sarah actually prepares and gives her speech - it would be proof that she has learned a few more words. But that's about it.
    She is an airhead.

Well, Media, as long as you report on her every move, she will not go away.

I know nothing makes liberals more happy than hatemongering against her, but if you REALLY want her to go away, stop talking about her.

I don't care, why do you?
