Media shut out from Palin's Hong Kong speech

(CNN) – Sarah Palin's speech to investors in China later this month will be closed to the media, organizers of the event confirmed to CNN Monday.

The former Alaska governor is set to address the annual CLSA Investors' Forum September 23, though the group is also declining to reveal the topic of the former GOP vice presidential candidate's closed-door speech.

"We are not disclosing the topic of Sarah Palin's presentation at this point," said Simone Wheeler, head of communications for CLSA.

Wheeler said much of the four-day forum, which includes more than 200 presentations, is closed to the media except for a handful of keynote addresses where the speakers have specifically allowed members of the press to be invited.

Palin, whose lack of foreign policy credentials was criticized by Democrats during the 2008 campaign, apparently was not among those speakers willing to grant members of the media access to her speech.

"For keynote presentations, it is the speaker's decision as to whether or not their sessions are closed. Several of our keynotes this year are not open to media," Wheeler said.

There has been speculation Palin could receive upwards of six figures on the speaking circuit, though the organization is remaining tight-lipped on that matter.

"We never disclose if, or how much, our speakers are remunerated," Wheeler said.

God bless the poor translator who'll have to figure out how to translate Palin's word salads.

    Uh, hello?

The reason she is going to the conference is because she and her family have more than a decade experience in one of the energy producing hubs of the United States, and almost 2 years a the main force behind it. She also helped negotiate the first steps for a massive natural gas pipeline to the lower 48, though there are more steps to go.

People want to know what she knows when it comes to energy, the hottest economic topic of the next 10 years. Don't be a rat from a psych lab and scream "Dumb" every time the media pushes your "Palin" button. THINK FOR YOURSELF AND ACTUALLY DO SOME RESEARCH OTHER THAN TYPING IN A GOOGLE SEARCH.

Tee-hee...that's because Sarah Palin will just be spouting her usual gibberish and she doesn't want her incoherent mumbo-jumbo to be analyzed by the public. Well, that is if she shows up at all! Palin is such an IDIOT!!!

Doesn't matter – no one understands a single thing she says anyway. And what we do understand is often false! I wonder what U.S. landmark she can see from Hong Kong?

Whatever Sara Palin is doing is causing great discern to the liberal left,

Hugo did you mean CONCERN not DISCERN? That's the problem with using words you're not familiar with; like socialist,, communist, speech...etc.

Sarah Palin will probably visit two countries while in Asia. She will think that it would be senseless to visit Hong Kong and not visit China since she will be so close to it.

If I can't hear what she has to say, how can I judge her effectiveness? Based on the few things I have heard, I think her success in dealing with the oil executives was not based on her prowness but on the cut of her neckline.

She's probably concerned that the media will continue its harsh practice of reporting what she actually says.

    A Sarah Palin primer:
New Media = Whoever agrees with far-right conservatives
Brilliant thinker = anybody who attends five different colleges over a six year span to get a Bachelor's in Communications
Stubborn political fighter = somebody who quits 2.5 years into a gubernatorial term to make more money on the lecture and talk show circuit
Capitalist icons = the Chinese Communists who'll receive a Sarah Palin speech
Tibetans = the people whose religious and political freedom Palin won't be fighting for

Remember, it's okay to pal around with oppressive communists so long as you're paid. That's Capitalism!

Hopefully just talking to the ChiComs loses her some street cred with her fanatical Christian base.
