Media shut out from Palin's Hong Kong speech

(CNN) – Sarah Palin's speech to investors in China later this month will be closed to the media, organizers of the event confirmed to CNN Monday.

The former Alaska governor is set to address the annual CLSA Investors' Forum September 23, though the group is also declining to reveal the topic of the former GOP vice presidential candidate's closed-door speech.

"We are not disclosing the topic of Sarah Palin's presentation at this point," said Simone Wheeler, head of communications for CLSA.

Wheeler said much of the four-day forum, which includes more than 200 presentations, is closed to the media except for a handful of keynote addresses where the speakers have specifically allowed members of the press to be invited.

Palin, whose lack of foreign policy credentials was criticized by Democrats during the 2008 campaign, apparently was not among those speakers willing to grant members of the media access to her speech.

"For keynote presentations, it is the speaker's decision as to whether or not their sessions are closed. Several of our keynotes this year are not open to media," Wheeler said.

There has been speculation Palin could receive upwards of six figures on the speaking circuit, though the organization is remaining tight-lipped on that matter.

"We never disclose if, or how much, our speakers are remunerated," Wheeler said.

The closest she has come to Chinese relations is ordering General Tso’s chicken from the Wasilla take out restaurant. She is the political equivalent to Yosemite Sam in a dress, so I hope the attendees treat her with the seriousness of a cartoon. Where else can you get daffy and goofy in the same speech?

And you all said she is stupd. She is very smart on this one.

Sarah does not want the media picking up on her numerous blunders. It kills me that she using a teen sight, facebook, to throw boulders at everyone and runs back in her safe house to hide. Coward. Yet she feels she is a credible Presidental candidate. LOL

I'm not surprised. Whenever Sarah issues a written statement, it's coherent, clear and understandable, even thouigh the message itself is always dead wrong. When she speaks in public, all we head are incomplete sentences, made up words and incoherent hate-speech peppered with winks and "you-betcha"s. Obviously, Sarah speaks, but Sarah doesn't write. Her written statements are typical far right vitriolic hate-speech written by someone else, and her spoken words are unintellagable. Is she the proverbial train wreck we all like to stare at so we know how much better off we are? She sure makes me feel intellectually superior. Maybe she is our train wreck. That's why she doesn't go away. We won't let her. She's our shot of "feel better about ourselves".

Her repertoire of oratorial skills are so narrow that even air can not pass thru. Her topic, we are sure, is probably inconsequential.

She is now well -traveled, and her knowledge of international affairs has broadened ; her resume is looking better now.... She should be able to win the presidency in 2012....

I have said this before, I say this now.

Wasilla Wacko at Hong Kong: "... a great nation of yours, standing up to the big communist bully of a country right next door... I am proud of you all... ahem...er.. any choppers around?... also any wolves... ok I'll take pandas...."

Once again a story about this has been. Who cares about what she says. Maybe she will open her mouth, insult the Chinese and they will keep her.
I wonder if she will tell them she is a "real" American. That should go over well.

I for one am kinda glad. She will only make a mess of it and her only recourse then is President Obama bashing, which will make her look even more ignorant.

It is still amazing how she got this speech? She lost an election, quit her gov's job with 2 years left and headed into the private market to make money. She is a shallow as they come.

I guess the world hasn't had enough to laugh at sense the Bush years – what an unarticulate baffon that was.

  16. Reagan was wrong

At some point the GOP will have to choose a presidential candidate. I wonder what will happen when the GOP base refuses to accept anyone other than Palin, but the GOP leadership (knowing full well that they cannot win a national election with Palin on the ticket) refuses to have her as the nominee.

Good keep it a secret as all the liberal media will get their rude nastly input in on it and screw up the whole thing. Putting words into each sentance. Then who know whats said.

The Chinese investors are probably interested in how her administration in 2012 will recover the value of the dollar after it has been so severely devalued by the borrowing binge of the current administration.

She will try to convince them that yes, some American politicians still do know how to be responsible with the American economy.

So where is the down side? She won't have the media to complain about, we don't need to hear the mindless drivel. The less we hear of her and about her, the better off we are.

Someone's sure to make the Wasilla Wacko's speech public and as Letterman says "Oh boy, oh boy, comedy recession is over"

I honestly feel sorry for the translator, who's head will roll for not being able to understand "english."

I am still hoping for WW to debate BHO. Thanks to CNN for keeping her in the news.

I can't stop laughing. That was a good one... Sarah Palin giving a speech to investors. About WHAT!!! Ten months ago Sarah Palin had not even been out of the country and did even own a passport. Why don't this woman stop embarrrassing herself. Even though she will not allow the media to hear her speech we all know she going to make a complete fool of herself with her run on sentences and her incorrect grammar. The Chinese will need an interpreter that speaks
    hillbilly.
