Media shut out from Palin's Hong Kong speech

(CNN) – Sarah Palin's speech to investors in China later this month will be closed to the media, organizers of the event confirmed to CNN Monday.

The former Alaska governor is set to address the annual CLSA Investors' Forum September 23, though the group is also declining to reveal the topic of the former GOP vice presidential candidate's closed-door speech.

"We are not disclosing the topic of Sarah Palin's presentation at this point," said Simone Wheeler, head of communications for CLSA.

Wheeler said much of the four-day forum, which includes more than 200 presentations, is closed to the media except for a handful of keynote addresses where the speakers have specifically allowed members of the press to be invited.

Palin, whose lack of foreign policy credentials was criticized by Democrats during the 2008 campaign, apparently was not among those speakers willing to grant members of the media access to her speech.

"For keynote presentations, it is the speaker's decision as to whether or not their sessions are closed. Several of our keynotes this year are not open to media," Wheeler said.

There has been speculation Palin could receive upwards of six figures on the speaking circuit, though the organization is remaining tight-lipped on that matter.

"We never disclose if, or how much, our speakers are remunerated," Wheeler said.

Palin is still ashamed of her political skills or she would just put it out there now for everyone to see and hear!!!!

No doubt she's now claiming that she can see China from her upper floor balcony. I truly hope that the Chinese don't see Palin as representative of America. She's a failed and quitting governor of Alaska with no redeeming qualites whatsoever. If only the media would understand that as well and quit giving her air time.

I think this should be caused for alarm. If she want people to know she is so "much" for the people and are concerned, then why doesn't she allow the media to broadcast what she is saying.

She is hiding something here and it's scary. This woman is dangerous, very dangerous.

I am having a very difficult time to figure out what value Sarah Palin will add to an economic forum. It's no great loss not to hear what she has to say.

A smart move. The mainstream Liberal media's favorite trick is quoting her verbatim to make her sound stupid. And they're always bragging about how smart Obama is. He only went to two schools. Sarah Palin went to five!

Oh CRAP! Now we'll probably be attacked by China after she again screws up in a speech. At least if the media was covering the event we might have a little warning.

Now if we could only shut HER out of the media, we'd actually be doing something worthwhile, but I've noticed common sense isn't very common in these parts.

All you people calling Sarah Palin ignorant and stupid are exactly that: ignorant and stupid. I doubt that there's a single person on this blog with her intelligence.
Obama is in the process of destroying this country, and all you idiots have time for is to tear a private citizen to pieces. This is a sad day.

They have got to close off the speech – it would be a riot. Oh, and as for not revelaing the topic, I am sure she doesn't have one. And, who would pay to hear her speak!
