Michelle even can connect with the people who have no insurance, or like ourselves, we pay $600.00 a month for insurance, which has just about put us out of our home. On top of that in feb. 09 my doctor said to go to the Emergency Room and get checked out for a continuing health problem I was experiencing. We have a $75.00 co-pay, and then the insurance only covered a small amount of that. The rest went towards our $1000.00 deductible, so I was left with over $1200.00 hospital and doctor bills. Because of the high insurance rates, we are unable to save any Money. And we are living within our means. Now our rates are going to go up again. We may have to drop me from his insurance. That will leave me without medical insurance again. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MICHELLE!

Proud yet?
Do we really need a lecture on health care from a woman who just recently discovered her pride for America?

Obama VICTIM
Stan, I really don't care what the GOP wating is with blacks. I don't have to take care of anyone but my family. See Stan we don't depend on the Government. We pay for our health insurance as I do all my employees. And needless to say I have no employees with negative racism BS attitudes. It's obvious they must all be conservatives.

Mississippi Mike September 18th, 2009 2:50 pm ET No one elected Michelle. She needs to stay out of the spotlight unless she wants to feel the wrath of the GOP.
That would be somewhat akin to the wrath of a squeaking mouse, wouldn't it? ("no! no! nooooo!")
Face it, buddy, you guys lost for a reason... lots of reasons, actually, with more being added daily. Maybe it's time to learn the First Rule of Holes and stop digging?

Henry Miller, I agree. But what say you to those that have children with good jobs but lose them due to corporate greed? Those in the middle class forcably thrown in poverty by the upper class? I guess you are in the upper class since your perseption of all is so narrow.

Mobster G-Man [Independent]
I finally realized what can stand for in the "Yes we can" slogan. "Yes we Can't Add Numbers". can = Can't Add Numbers. Their health care numbers don't add up. I agree that either they are lying or they just can't add or just don't care. You heard his preacher G D America.

Thank you to Mrs Obama for personalizing this issue. I'm a former medical center administrator so I know that in her role as a hospital administrator she saw the great need for reform. I also know that sadly many Americans are too selfish to care about their fellow citizens, so it's important to personalize and make people understand that at any time, it could be them facing an illness while uninsured or that they could lose coverage or have it denied or rationed in time of need. This intelligent, compassionate First Lady (and mom) is the perfect messenger.

Any article about the President and or his family brings the crazies out.......Anyway, First Lady Michelle is a great secret weapon for healthcare.....Her sincerity offers a breath of fresh air amidst the propaganda and lies being propagated by the old foggies in the opposition party.....I pray her words will resonate around this country, and help to bring a good bill (not a Baucus debacle) to the people.....

Thomas (canada)
I am both a canadian and american citizen and love both countries. But Canada has it right with public health care. We have a higher life expectancy here in Canada and a lower infant mortality rate, and know one in canada has ever gone bankrupt due to medical expenses.
So what is so good about having to fight with insurance companies and pay excessive premiums for care that is inferior to our Canadian universal coverage.
My mother was treated for uterine cancer and recieved top notch treatment for her condition, and the best part is it didn't cost us a dime and she still has coverage and does't have to worry about primiums increasing.
It is very nice having that piece of mind knowing that no matter what happens, you will always have accesss to health care.
Finally a First Lady I can love.
