Some early exits as Palin woos Hong Kong investors

Sarah Palin's speech at CLSA Investors' Forum appeared to be largely well received.
Sarah Palin's speech at CLSA Investors' Forum appeared to be largely well received.

HONG KONG, China (CNN) -- Sarah Palin touched on a host of topics - including Reaganomics, China and human rights, Tibet, the Asian and U.S. economies, family and moose in Alaska - as she delivered a speech to investors Wednesday in Hong Kong, according to audience members.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate was the keynote speaker at the 16th CLSA Investors' Forum, in what was billed as her first speech outside North America. She recently stepped down as Alaska's governor.

Her 90-minute address, which was closed to the media, was heard by 1,100 people, according to CLSA head of communications Simone Wheeler.

Those who attended her speech said she did well, though some could be seen leaving early on. A few of those people said they were heading to other forum offerings. Most people declined to speak with the media about the speech.

Ah yes the intellectually challenged Palin bashers continue their rants of hate because the democrats lack a smart, sexy, charismatic women candidate for higher office. It all boils down to pure jealousy that the Republican party will claim first women elected president, and shatter the liberal feminist movement forever.

Now we would like to know who wrote the speech? I would like for her to do interview with the media – repeating what she read from her notes – We all know she didn't write it...

Palin, please do an interview w/o the notes. We all need a good laugh. Go away you will never get my vote as a republican.

Good for her. Highly paid speaking gigs are what all ex-office holders do if they can command enough dough!!

The fact that a number in the audience left during her remarks is an interesting tell.

IMHO unless she undergoes an amazing transformation in the next several years her turn as a national candidate is past. However, thanks to her good looks the men will keep her on stage as long as possible!!!

She spoke of her ability to see Russia from her bedroom window-You Betcha. The result was-"We gota get this Dumb Broard elected. Just what we need, an early warning system"

There are numerous reasons to admire Sarah Palin, her courage, her inner strength, her honesty, integrity, her poise, her charm, her knowledge about energy, her leadership ability.

This speech was written for her, as were those during the campaign. She's clueless about international affairs, and the world outside of Alaska. Rather than lecturing, she should be taking classes and reading.

Sarah is all class. she loves all americans!
The notion that she is some sort of obsessive partisan is a media propagated myth.

  10. SARAH ROCKS!

Sarah is awesome because she worked her way to the top with the little money she had , and not through some rich big wig family.

Did the former Alaskan Governor and who exited her term early do the talent portion of the contest? Well, it depends if your talent is making people leave, fall asleep, or curse they spent a whole lot of money to hear a 90-minute rambling incoherent diatribe. Well, if that fails, the swimsuit competition is always a winner.

I love Sarah palin’s no-nonsense approach to the issues. She’s not one of these good ole boy types that does nothing but worry about how many pet projects he or she might get.

90 minutes of incoherent rambling from her? That's their definition of "well?"

the two things about Sarah Palin that I don't think have been adequately appreciated are, number one, if you look at the numbers, she really wasn't that different than Barack Obama in terms of experience and time in office, and [things] like that. The real big difference between the two was she hadn't campaigned non-stop for two years, and had she campaigned non-stop on the national stage for two years she'd have been just as polished as Barack Obama. She's a phenomenal politician and there's no better retail politician on the planet than Sarah Palin with a microphone in front of a crowd. So I think the big experience gap was the one that is about running on a national ticket—he had a lot more experience there and it showed up.

Please! You guys know Palin's Ghostwriter created the speech!!!!!

Sarah needs to do a reality show – Politics is not for her. I will watch with a ice cold beer and doggie b/c it will be funny. CNN keep the bimbo off the ticker – her 20 minutes has long passed. You guys get sucked up to this crap and she won't give you an interview unless it's the ghostwriter sitting next to her...

Come On – You guys know Palin string together coherent sentences. Give the ghostwriter credit for allowing the bimbo to read the speech.

Those who disrespect Gov. Palin are only disrespecting themselves. If there were a compilation (and there may be somewhere) of all the unprecedented vitriolic slander directed at this absolutely charming intelligent and RESPECTFUL woman, it would deserve a place of honor in a Hall Of Shame.
I have come to the conclusion that certain types of people need scapegoats and sacrificial victims to satisfy some kind of atavistic sadism that compels them to attack what is beautiful and good. Any NORMAL human being, would be able to see that Sarah Palin is a down to earth good person and agree or disagree with her policies and positions, afford the high respect that is her DUE, that she DESERVES, for her honest work on behalf of the American People and her lifelong efforts to live in a loving, intelligent and moral life.

What an incredible joke. Palin speaking to any group about anything of substance.

This is the same person who told people she knew about Russia because she could see it from her porch (really good eyes to see it from Wasilla, AK – hundreds of miles from Russia.

This the same person who could not answer a question regarding what newspapers she reads to get her information.

She must have gone to Hong Kong because very few people in the USA would waste time listening to her.

Governor Palin's record of achievement is huge. Even with all of the world's media spreading lies and half truths.

OMG. Is she thinking Palin 2012. I hope so. She needs to help us get President Obama re-elected. Nothing would be easier except maybe if Boehner runs.

Obama has nightmares of debating a young charismatic leader like Sarah Palin.

He loses his stage presence when she comes onto the debate stage.

That is why Sarah will be unstoppable in the 2012 debates
her stage presence alone will clear the Gop field.

    Cha-ching!

Cashing in just like she said she was going to do. How many more suckers will support her in her retirement? She's laughing all the way to the bank.

The big question is, "Why does CNN think anyone cares?"

We all know that Caribou Barbie can read a script. Her problem has always been making comments off script like "you can see Russia from Alaska." I doubt her unscripted comments will become any more enlightening because she lacks intellect or intellectual curiousity. We can always count on Palin, however, to wink and say "You Betcha."
