HONG KONG, China (CNN) -- Sarah Palin touched on a host of topics - including Reaganomics, China and human rights, Tibet, the Asian and U.S. economies, family and moose in Alaska - as she delivered a speech to investors Wednesday in Hong Kong, according to audience members.
The former Republican vice presidential candidate was the keynote speaker at the 16th CLSA Investors' Forum, in what was billed as her first speech outside North America. She recently stepped down as Alaska's governor.
Her 90-minute address, which was closed to the media, was heard by 1,100 people, according to CLSA head of communications Simone Wheeler.
Those who attended her speech said she did well, though some could be seen leaving early on. A few of those people said they were heading to other forum offerings. Most people declined to speak with the media about the speech.

She's on the road to nowhere. What a joke this woman is. She was governer of Alaska for a bit, then tried to to be vice president and now she's what? A guest speaker at events over seas? The term "You can't polish a turd" really is true. You can dress it up... but it's still a turd. This turd talks, that's the only difference.
Despite the media trashing, Palin will always be a powerful speaker and political leader. She is brilliant and charismatic. She will be a terrific campaigner for Republican candidates running for Congressional and Gubernatorial office.
PS. Nice story heading...
No wonder most of america thinks CNN is one-sided and shows favortism.
Sorry, but the truth will win out and she will become a major player-no matter what crap you put out.
I bet it you started putting a better (at least NEUTRAL) heading, you would get far more readers instead of showing of bias.
PALIN PALIN PALIN PALIN PALIN PALIN
Ladies and gentlemen, hobos and tramps,
I stand before you and sit behind you
to tell you something I know nothing about!
Admission is free, you must pay at the door;
So pull up a chair and sit on the floor.
The show is over, but before you go,
let me tell you a story I don't really know :
Thank you Sarah for embarassing Main Street America.
Well this is just what I thought would happen she would go over there and make the united states look bad by bashing the president. I suppose all you Palin followers are proud of her now. And you republicans still want her out ther 2012 when she goes to a foreign country and Makes the US look bad. I think some one needs to go on the air and put this nut job down on her knees.
Stop already with reports on this person. Please. Report on our troops instead.
A Palin/Paul ticket would be amazing for a lot of reasons.
I'm sure all the left wing loonies will have a field day with this one.
I love it that she drives all the nutty dems crazy!!!!
“They really prepared her well,” he said. “She was articulate and she held her own. I give her credit. They’ve tried to categorize her as not being bright. She’s bright.”
Sounds like it was an awesome speech!!
Palin is an embarassment to America. After her numerous and ridiculous interviews and hate filled lying speeches during her campaign, and her not fulfilling her elected position as Governor, how dare she travel to China and try to present herself as an authority on policy and government?
It's laughable and pathetic. She has no pride and no shame. She needs to "come home," though I'm inclined to say "stay there."
We have so much more to worry about than Palin trying to be smart.
Get real, Palin, just take care of your kids. You're not going to be President, now THAT's a comedy act.
Ah, so it is now the policy to attack the current U.S. administration on foreign soil?
I'm glad Scheunermann, who wrote her speech, lobbying for foreign nations, ie, "we are all Georgians now" is more interested in foreign business interests rather than American interests.
Scheunermann was willing to thrust the U.S. into conflict with Russia over Georgia because he had a vested interest through his lobbying firm, as Georgia was a client.
Exactly who's side is Sarah Palin on now?
Sarah Palin HK speech is the most viewed article on CNN. But CNN should be ashamed of itself in headlining the updated article as "Some early exits as Palin woos Hong Kong investors"; the initial appropriate headline was "Palin woos Hong Kong investors". So change it CNN?. Even if people left early, it maybe just 1 or 2 persons who are really Obamabots.
Sounds like another rambling babble.... what did this have to do with Hong Kong investors?
please upload the video... its been a while since I watched any funny routine............
90 Minutes ? Is that a misprint? Maybe it was 9 minutes.
Most people declined to speak with the media about the speech... they were still trying to figure out what she said.
For Palin, doing well means she did not continuously drool for the 90 minutes. I suspect the average person could derive more meaningful insight into life, politics or any other weighty subject from reading a fortune cookie than from listening to this proudly ignorant woman.
Oh my goodness, she has learned to read.
CNN tanks in the ratings, so everything they report is biased toward the right so they can try to compete with Cluster Fox News. I'm giving up on CNN as an objective, impartial news service.
Her ghostwriter should be proud that she didn’t give an interview afterwards trying to repeat talking points that she actually didn’t have a clue about. She had no business representing American at all – shame, shame, shame.
What kind of hair brained investor would give a rat's rear what this empty headed twit has to say about anything? Maybe if she was parsing advice about what shoes to get at Neimans for the trophy wife? I would like to know what investment firms were present so I can make sure never to do any business with them since they are clearly led by feeble minded people.
Who cares what she has to say. She is a nobody who thinks she's a somebody and she ruined John McCain's run for the President>
Let the attacks begin, but I guess the fear of Palin by the left is justified, by the time 2012 rolls around, any ex mayor or governor in America could probably defeat Obama.
My advise to Mrs. Palin is:
Stop running around the country or the world and go back to school, get some education, and study up on foreigh policy. Your are not making any sense, my dear. Don't fool yourself. You will never acquire the intellect of Mr. Obama, the first lady, or Mrs. Clinton.
Surprised they weren't running for the exits, or in a deep sleep, one or the other. This woman has the intellectual capacity of an ice cube.
Those who left early were looking for barf bags.
