Some early exits as Palin woos Hong Kong investors

Sarah Palin's speech at CLSA Investors' Forum appeared to be largely well received.
Sarah Palin's speech at CLSA Investors' Forum appeared to be largely well received.

HONG KONG, China (CNN) -- Sarah Palin touched on a host of topics - including Reaganomics, China and human rights, Tibet, the Asian and U.S. economies, family and moose in Alaska - as she delivered a speech to investors Wednesday in Hong Kong, according to audience members.

The former Republican vice presidential candidate was the keynote speaker at the 16th CLSA Investors' Forum, in what was billed as her first speech outside North America. She recently stepped down as Alaska's governor.

Her 90-minute address, which was closed to the media, was heard by 1,100 people, according to CLSA head of communications Simone Wheeler.

Those who attended her speech said she did well, though some could be seen leaving early on. A few of those people said they were heading to other forum offerings. Most people declined to speak with the media about the speech.

Oh my goodness gracious!!! I am sure these Chinese investors are excited now about taking over America when they see who is our supposed brilliant leader. I can picture some things she is probably saying now – "You know, you people make such tasty food and maybe we can learn from that".

Will she please just go away? I am so tired of hearing about this quitter! She is an embarrasment to all women who have worked so hard to acheive in their lives–she should really just go back to being a mom. The greatest thing she should aspire to at this point in her career is PTA President. Please do us all a favor and disappear back into Alaska...."you betcha."

Sarah – Stop criticizing our President with talking points you are clueless about.

Criticize when you can offer solutions – nope that will never happen because your brain doesn't have any available.

The Hong Kong investors would have profited more by listening to a lecture given by Madoff on how to avoid Ponzi schemes.

I like how quickly CNN adds in a negative twist.. "some could be seen leaving early on..."
It is like that at every event and speech there because many things are going on at once.
The WSJ, Bloomberg, and many other agencies and papers reporting on this event said she was outstanding.

Sad how easily the CNN bias shows

Does She Represent our Country to Speak on our Behalf ?????

I think her View are construed to be her PERSONAL VIEWS not the VIEWS OF AMERICA.

She is not an ELECTED REPRESENTATIVE of our Country to Speak on our Behalf.

She can also not speak on Behalf of Alaska, She Quit.

As on Today, she is without any authority to speak on behalf of Americans.

Well !! She may be speaking on Behalf of the GOP ????
Go Palin Go....... Speak Speak for GOP and Make the World Laugh :)

If her speech was closed to the media,... then the media should answer accordingly ,and not report on it, and give her free publicity,... which she craves....SUCKERS!!!

All this woman did was read a paper someone prepared for her to read. Nothing new. I can give a speak on the Economy if someone would spell it out for me as someone did for Sara Palin. THIS WOMAN CAN NOT THINK ON HER OWN AND THAT IS WAY SHE KEEPS THE MEDIA AWAY FROM HER BECASUE SHE DOESN'T WANT TO MEDIA TO PRINT IN THE PAPER HER OWN WORDS.

Why would anyone think she would have anything intelligent to say about the economy in China? She clearly showed she didn't have a grasp of the issues concerning the United States, so why would she know anything about China? She's obviously just reading from a script.

Well she has had a few months to prepare for this speech. Im sure she had a top dollar speech writer. And it is said she did well. So does that mean she knew the names of at least one magazine?

Good for Palin. I like her and hope that she will run for office as a senator or possible chosen for VP again. The republicans need to take back the house. The situation in this country is getting worse and though it was bad with Bush it got worse with the Democrats in power. Palin knows that we are going downhill and Obama cannot fix the economy. Hopefully Palin will make a decision in what she is going to do regarding politics.

Wait for all the remarks on her intellect from the supposed Democrat intellectuals. (Mostly unemployed union workers that have never made more than $40K/annually). Palin is smart enough to cash in on her fame and prepare to suceed at attracting more speaking engagements.
