WASHINGTON (CNN) - First Lady Michelle Obama vowed Monday to "take no prisoners" as she and her husband launch an unprecedented bid for Chicago's 2016 Olympic bid.
"It's a battle - we're going to win - take no prisoners," Mrs. Obama said with a smile at a roundtable discussion with reporters in the White House State Dining Room.
Mrs. Obama compared the intense lobbying effort to the 2008 presidential campaign, noting that in the election campaign, a lot of voters made their decision in the final days. She said members of the International Olympic Committee may do the same.
"And our view is, we're not taking a chance," she said. "We're just not going to assume that the bids - that the decisions are made, and so that no matter what the outcome is, we'll feel as a country, as a team, that we've done everything that we can to bring it home."

As long as the Olympics doesn't come to my state, I don't care where they go.
Go git em Girl!!!!!!!!
I want to know why the President will be wasting his time and our money going to Copenhagen this weekend. Who is paying for his flight? This president seems to spend more time doing things other than being the president than anyone (lobbying the IOC, hosting "talks" over beers, hosting pointless town hall meetings, etc.) He should be working around the clock to solve our problems. I didn't elect a president to only be president four days a week. Come to think of it, I didn't actually vote for him.
With Congress and Obama trying to spend the US into oblivion, a health care bill that will have my children and grand children paying for this Congress and President's folly and the govt. getting ready to tell Americans whether they can take the "blue pill or the red pill", the govt. telling Americans when they can have a medical procedure and when I am supposed to die, they are going off to save the Olympics for Chicago with Oprah no less. This is another example of the lack of leadership we have in Washington today. Wake up America, check out the medical facilities for Veterans if you want to know what health care will be like. Why doesn't Congress release the CBO's report? Not what they want the American Public to hear.
Why do we need this when there are so many other things we need?
If the Olympics come, the rich get even richer and the poor get displaced and poorer.
