(CNN) – Sarah Palin's 432 page memoir isn't set to be released for more than seven weeks, but the highly anticipated tell-all has already shot to No. 1 on Barnes and Nobles' Web site, supplanting new releases from bestselling authors Dan Brown and Mitch Albom.

The forthcoming book has also vaulted up Amazon.com's bestseller list, currently holding the No. 3 spot just behind Glenn Beck's "Arguing with Idiots: How to Stop Small Minds and Big Government."

The book - titled "Going Rogue: An American Life" in reference to the anonymous criticism directed at the former Alaska governor by aides to Republican presidential nominee John McCain - is scheduled to be released on November 17.

Palin's publisher, Harper, has ordered a massive first printing of 1.5 million copies, and is not releasing an electronic version until the day after Christmas in an effort to drive up sales of the more expensive hardcover edition, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

This has to be the highest debut of a coloring book to date!

Mike, Albany   September 30th, 2009 2:52 pm ET

No wonder, given the pathetically low average intellect of the American public. I would expect a country that ranks near the bottom in math and science to be interested in her grammatically incorrect gibberish. What a waste of money. People, stop reading this garbage and start improving your minds. America's future depends on it.....critically.

Richard in California   September 30th, 2009 2:51 pm ET

If this keeps neo-cons home and keeps them from spending their time being virulent by stopping the progress of the American people to move out of the ditch that the former administration drove us into, then keep on writin', Sarah! (As a huge side benefit, maybe this will keep Sarah busy and out of trouble! Ah, who am I kidding. She'll quit on this, too.)

Tom B   September 30th, 2009 2:50 pm ET

A fool and his money are thus parted...

cedgar   September 30th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

I just purchased the book!
I also have Mark's & Glenn's books!
I did have a copy of Obama's book, but my dog chewed it up! I had to take him to the vet. The sweet heart (dog) got all wee weed up.

Some republican guy   September 30th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

Can't wait to read it. Sarah is way smarter than Obama. She went to 5 colleges and he only went to one. I'm ordering extra copies for my grandbabies. Have a nice day!

Irma in North Caroliina   September 30th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

I suppose she will start out saying how the death panels are true and how she helped Mccain get so many votes. I wonder if she will say anything about her rallies and the people who were shouting kill him. She will cry about the media being mean to her. She will also have plenty of Nasty stuff about Levi. The biggest part of it will be be bashing the president and what a good governer she was. It will be book of nothing put lies and there are people stupid enough to buy this book. The republicans will be her biggest buyers.

vinnie   September 30th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

Not paying full price for this but will read it when it hits the discount or dollar stores, which shouldn't take long. I need a good laugh and this ought to get the job done! (which is more than I can say she did for her term as governor LOL)

Chloe   September 30th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

the only thing she'll ever be good at; stretching out bull to make a land bridge back to siberia

Liberal4Obama   September 30th, 2009 2:47 pm ET

LOL. Becks Book its called "Arguing with Idiots" and Palins book is behind Becks... a couple of idiots never been so close!!

Tam   September 30th, 2009 2:46 pm ET

One purchaser probably pre-ordered 500,000 copies in order to drive up sales. It's done all the time.

Ted   September 30th, 2009 2:45 pm ET

Cha-Ching!!!! I bet she's laughing all the way to the bank – "Suckazzzz."

jenny   September 30th, 2009 2:45 pm ET

50 pages of what she is trying to say, 350 of filer words. Beginning and ending sentences with ALSO, there too, and again, Maverick, and you betcha". 400 pages of one long run on, fragmented sentence with thousands of commas. Whoever is buying it, stock up on Tylenol now!

Victim of conservative ignorance..Texas..   September 30th, 2009 2:44 pm ET

I hope the folks who have agreed to buy this book ahead of time, still have a job by the time it comes out.

Tom B   September 30th, 2009 2:44 pm ET

Palin is popular among a certain sect. Whether this book continues to be popular is another matter. Let's wait for the reviews.

Educated   September 30th, 2009 2:43 pm ET

The dumbing down of America, you Betcha. I did not know her supporters can read.

Michael   September 30th, 2009 2:42 pm ET

No kidding, I am an avid reader...but...I don't think I would read anything Sarah wrote even if it were free. I just don't think it would be worth my time. So far, I have never heard her say anthing that even bordered on being intelligent. I doubt the book would be much better.

Phil   September 30th, 2009 2:42 pm ET

This is a joke, right. 12" fonts. double spaced, all caps. you batcha.

Jonathan   September 30th, 2009 2:38 pm ET

Apparently the regressives in this country really can read. Or do they have someone else read the book to them?

Mainer   September 30th, 2009 2:38 pm ET

Anagrams, gotta love 'em:
Going Rouge an American Life

E'er a foul grinning egomaniac

Seriously, Left   September 30th, 2009 2:37 pm ET

Who would have thought that a conservative woman who was unknown until a year ago could still have lunatic lefties still talking about her...on a daily basis at that? She is still news (and will be for a long time) because liberals just can't let her go.......like an ex girlfriend. I call it the liberal twilight zone.

Lila   September 30th, 2009 2:37 pm ET

LOL. Just goes to show America LOVES a good train-wreck.

I can't lie, I do have respect for Palin. She's made a career out of her charm alone. There is a great deal to be said for how successful she is despite being her own worst enemy, lol.
But as far as her ever being a position of power? Please, No....

No Incumbents 2010   September 30th, 2009 2:36 pm ET

In 2008 she was introduced to an adoring public and with her charisma and floksy charm excited the voting public. Now we know her star is too bright to be confined to the governorship of a single state. She has inspired millions and now she is free to arouse the voters and lead as only she can. Her book sales are ample proof, Sarah is the frontrunner for 2012, not only in the primary but the general as well.

shucks   September 30th, 2009 2:35 pm ET

I'm sure the only people buying her book are the ones who screamed racial slurs and hateful rhetoric. You don't write a book bashing the current president and the democratic party, and ever expect to run for political office again. Except as say mayor of some little unkown town, or Governor of a very red state.

Lilarose in Bandon, Oregon   September 30th, 2009 2:35 pm ET

Don't give Sarah a penny of your money for this book!

Instead, if you need to spend money, order Susan Boyle's first CD which you can pre-order on Amazon now. Susan is the Scottish woman who has taken the music world by storm with her beautiful voice.

Susan Boyle has no political agenda, lives a quiet and simple life, and is a great volunteer in her community.

Enlightened Voter   September 30th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

JoetheIntellect   September 30th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

I'll wait & buy my copy at the Dollar Store.

Dwayne   September 30th, 2009 2:34 pm ET

You always see best selling conservative books from Bill OReilly, Ann Coulter...and now Sarah Palin.....why arent liberal books best sellers?? Oh! Its because liberal voters are uneducated and do not like to read...they would rather watch movies like "Farenheit 911"

Sandra   September 30th, 2009 2:32 pm ET

Really people when you buy her book you are giving her power. It is really scary that someone of her inability can get this far. I am really concerned about Americans. I would seriously support a protest banning the purchase of this book just like she banned teaching the children in Alaska about Dwarnism. Again, her support for abstinence only programs for teenagers in Alaska is yet another reminder of her lack of educated information based on research. We need to stop this craziness of supporting people like her and Paris Hilton………..why do we care about them???? They are cut from the same cloth. They are two people who have gained finacially by being the "village idiot". However, Palin's success with this book has far reaching implications. This could build her popularity with unintelligent conservatives who are unable to think critically and this is dangerous to our country!

jean   September 30th, 2009 2:32 pm ET

The rich Repbulicans will buy millions of copies for distribution just to make this "rut cake" look intelligent. One would have to be an idiot or a dumb Repbulican to support this quitter with the IQ of a fish.

blue   September 30th, 2009 2:31 pm ET

As real and authentic as ever. The title even gets you excited. Soon Palin will have the current "emblem" in the WH as a historical comic book character.

mimi   September 30th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

Great! I'l be glad to read it!
Palin you can do it!

Paul   September 30th, 2009 2:29 pm ET

I think the democrats are just writing down what they are told to say and none of them have even read the book. Its a reflex action to dismiss and ridicule anything she says so they don't have to answer any questions about O Bama. Why don't they complain about what congress and the senate vote themselves in pay raises and pensions every year while asking seniors to do without cost of living increases. Why isn't anyone talking about that?

Chris   September 30th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

OMG will this lady ever go away!!!
It goes to show the state of America intelligence when some like her can constantly be in the media!!
This lady was a pawn by the Republicans and now they are trying to make her into some legitimate leader of their party and that is just plain scary!!!

Chuck Anaheim, Ca   September 30th, 2009 2:26 pm ET

I didn't know that coloring books could be best sellers.

Charlie Brown   September 30th, 2009 2:25 pm ET

It's the only way she can sound coherent!

Stormer   September 30th, 2009 2:24 pm ET

Those "sales figures" are pre-orders based on how many they think they can sell. A scattershot guess at best. What actually matters is how many of these copies will be remaindered at the end of the holiday season.

My guess, based on working in the publishing arena for many years, is that after all the hype, the publishers won't even come close to breaking even on this one. Bios are notorious for being hot for the first week or two, then quickly dropping off the charts to be replaced by the "next big thing."

Andrew   September 30th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

All the proof you will ever need that the United States is made up of mostly idiots.

Michael   September 30th, 2009 2:23 pm ET

Just goes to show... one should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Daniel   September 30th, 2009 2:22 pm ET

Why can't she just go live in an igloo in Alaska and leave the rest of us alone...

JD from Moraga, CA   September 30th, 2009 2:21 pm ET

Does it come with crayons?

Charlie Brown   September 30th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

Palin followers know how to read? Shocking!

Russ   September 30th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

Probably number because of people like me. I ordered 2 off them myself.......I want to puke on one of them and cover it up with the other. I know it's a waste of perfectly good trees, but Sarah isn't that much of an environmentalist.

Bpin   September 30th, 2009 2:20 pm ET

While all of you lowly paid "politicans" are heckling her, she is out there making millions of dollars. She loves the heckling. It just draws more interest in her book, which I am sure is not worth reading. Just keep making her more wealthy

carrie , alabama   September 30th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

Just goes to prove you can fool many people all the time!

Beverly in NC   September 30th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

Just shows how many ignorant people there are out there. Palin didn't write this book. She can't even speak in intelligible sentences. Her book might make good fillers for the potholes in our roads or her pictures could be used to scare wild animals from your yard.

I won't be reading Cheney's or Bush's books either. War criminals should not profit from their crimes. Any money they make should go into a fund for the families of all the soliders they killed needlessly in the fraudulent Iraq War.

irishman   September 30th, 2009 2:19 pm ET

Hmmm... Overwhelmingly major movies are dominated by liberals, and best-selling books are dominated by conservatives. Yet liberals say the conversatives are the illiterate bumpkins. If one liberal would spend the time to read one conservative book for every conservative that took the time to watch a liberal movie, they just might understand why we want to solve our common problems the way we do.
Seriously; Phil, Joe, Tammy, and all the rest of you who have nothing real to offer, instead of adolescent attacks, how about taking the time to make an informed opinion, and then offering to the rest of us how you arrived at that opinion.

Independent in NYC   September 30th, 2009 2:18 pm ET

Well we all know that the number for best seller list are fudged. The women can't get anyone to listen to her speak now that she had a horrific debute as a speaker. Why would thousands pay to read what has to be the most poor grammer ridden work since 1776.

T'SAH from Virginia   September 30th, 2009 2:16 pm ET

OKAY – so Ms. PA'IN gets a No. 1 seller – La Di Da!

BUT, that does not prove how BRIGHT or INTELLIGENT the author is. It could mean how IGNORANT and UNINTELLIGENT an author is.

I think IGNORANT and UNINTELLIGENT authors will sell more books because everyone loves to CRITICIZE how IGNORANT and UNINTELLIGENT a person is....

Hmm, smart move PALIN because it's all about the MONEY – no matter how IGNORANT and/or UNINTELLIGENT you may be!!

Also, 4 months to write a memoir – WOW – could this be something she started in her PAGEANT years!!

Palin, all marketing no substance.   September 30th, 2009 2:16 pm ET

This would be funny if it weren't so tragic.

To all the anti-socialism people out there... the internet was created under a social program (ARPA). If you really loved America you wouldn't be using such a communist invention.

..Oh I see, only the socialist programs you like get to stay. Gotcha.

Ignorant as they come...   September 30th, 2009 2:16 pm ET

Go ! Sarah, hope your book sells 5million+

Cafferty: I"m one that will not read Sarah Palin"s book...! Why ? afraid

Good for you Sarah but remember the say: "You never get the second chance to make the first impression"!

Rick Curtis   September 30th, 2009 2:15 pm ET

As a former democrat I will buy this book just as I bought the Clinton's. I feel the Democratic party left me and went too far left. I also can never forgive nor forget the attacks on Hillary by fellow democrats. I had enough and good for Palin.

Sassyfrassy   September 30th, 2009 2:15 pm ET

Awesome, Palin's book is Number 1. I bet there's cute pictures of kitties in trees and her waving to a Russian from Alaska! If there's any nude pictures of her I'd buy! Even her once impregnated daughter too!

Moderate Democrat   September 30th, 2009 2:15 pm ET

I heard she originally set out to make it a 2000 page book, but decided to quit before getting there.

Roger in CA   September 30th, 2009 2:13 pm ET

Man, I can't stand Sarah Palin!!!! Disappear already!

To the pro-Palin cretins out there: you are miserable, sick wretches.

Tony   September 30th, 2009 2:13 pm ET

A whole book about how she is misunderstood, lied about (you betcha) but still above it all? Noted that she came in fourth in the recent Republican "values" pageant. I guess the fans were otherwise occupied.

Her writer helper is a Conservative, Christian editor. Just what's needed to get the tone right. Sarah speaks in tongues. Probably be a lot of quotes.

lfd   September 30th, 2009 2:12 pm ET

She can actually read???????????????

Our Country is Sinking   September 30th, 2009 2:12 pm ET

It's straight out of Idiocracy watching politics nowadays. I thought when Palin was chosen as McCain's running mate that it was an insult to our citizens' intelligence. The Democratic party has a young black man, so the Republicans needed a young woman to make up for the old white guy. I mean what kind of incredible fool wouldn't see through that blatant demographic pandering? Then Joe the Plumber on top of it?

The Republicans on this board act as if Democrats are afraid of what Palin has to say. I'd say we're more afraid of the fact that the people dumb enough to follow her are the same people showing up to rallies with assault rifles.

Al   September 30th, 2009 2:11 pm ET

Are Dick, Jane and Spot the main characters?

Bill   September 30th, 2009 2:10 pm ET

Great #1, on the other hand Obamas new book can be titled "How Americans got soaked to pay Molly to watch her own kids."

CF   September 30th, 2009 2:10 pm ET

The last 200 pages of the book are blank, and while the book retails for $19.99, it comes in a $5,000 jacket.

Ramon, Denver   September 30th, 2009 2:09 pm ET

This is the one side of America that just baffles the mind. What can this woman possibly have to say that is worth reading about. She is just getting paid. The only smart move she has made was to leave Alaska , hire an agent and make big money talking to evangelicals and uneducated whites.

Jim, San Antonio   September 30th, 2009 2:08 pm ET

I have a better title: "Going Stupid: An American Nightmare".

Felipe   September 30th, 2009 2:08 pm ET

What a surprise, lots of jokes about how Palin and her supporters are illiterate, and how the book must contain large font and many pictures. You guys are hilarous. Listen, is she qualified to be President? Absolutely not. But give her a break? As you guys like to argue so loud, how do her actions affect your life? And don't give me any of this, "Well it could affect me." She's not in charge of anything right now except selling books.

brimstone   September 30th, 2009 2:08 pm ET

Annoy a liberal, use facts and logic.

Eat your hearts out losers.

independent   September 30th, 2009 2:07 pm ET

I understand that the Pentagon is using some of the Stimulus money to buy hundreds of thousands of these books. The plan is to air-drop on the Al Queda area in NW Pakistan, hoping that 1) the size of the book may do some damage when it lands, 2) those who survive may attempt to read it and die of boredom, and finally 3) if they manage to get through the book, they will be convinced to negotiate a peace treaty now before the fringe right gets back into power.

Al from SoCal   September 30th, 2009 2:07 pm ET

All those elite liberals buying it the ones with the so-called brains but no common sense. They're just using it as a handbook on what they need to do next.

David   September 30th, 2009 2:05 pm ET

Come on – she obviously didn't write it.

Eric   September 30th, 2009 2:05 pm ET

So I wonder if she declares that it is ok to shoot pitbulls from a plane while looking at Russia? That has be the best part of this book. I also wonder if she has pics of turkeys being mutilated for no apparent reason along with her "dude" too.

AJ   September 30th, 2009 2:04 pm ET

This underscores the complete stupidity of the American electorate.

Anthony   September 30th, 2009 2:04 pm ET

She's gonna be a great politician... she'll be George W Bush #2. Look out America, great future ahead when she's sitting in the White House... SCARY THOUGHT !!

Judy, Salem, Oregon   September 30th, 2009 2:03 pm ET

If all the people posting here think that Sarah Palin is irrelevant, why do they spend so much time posting comments about her. Any story about her, no matter how minor, triggers hundreds of comments from people who claim they don't care a thing about what she does. If you don't like her, stop commenting on stories and don't buy her book. It's the number of comments posted that continue to make her relevant and increases the # of stories about her, thereby making her most relevant. People who dislike her seem to hang on every word she says, all the while claiming she is not bright and ignorant. I think this continues to prove how bright and relevant she really is! I'm guessing many people will post in answer to this observation, thereby proving my theory that you really DO care about Sarah Palin.

Smoii   September 30th, 2009 2:03 pm ET

As long as there're still ones who believe Obama can do any good, there will be more people who believe Sarah can do better. The stupidity level is the same on both sides.

Jamie - NY   September 30th, 2009 2:02 pm ET

This President has very nicely shifted those in the center to the right.

No one will go anywhere near the left for quite some time, this is what GWB did to the right. The Bush effect is long since passing and the approval rating of President Obama has made that clear. America has had enough of blaming backwards and they are standing up and holding this President accountable.

So say all the hateful things you want on both sides, all you are doing making yourselves look stupid for being so filled with hate.

God Bless America, her people and her President

Republicans are the American Taliban   September 30th, 2009 2:01 pm ET

The audacity of it all...

Mike Pittsburgh   September 30th, 2009 1:59 pm ET

It seems to me that if Sarah Palin was really that dumb, idiotic, inarticulate (pick your adjective), then the Democrats would love for her to be front and center of the Republican party. The fact that they desperately want her to just go away tells me that she is someone they fear. I won't defend the hatred I believe the Republicans often spew at the democrats and their policies, but the hatred flung at Sarah Palin or the people who might be inclined to buy her book is just as out of line.

Patty in the CA mountains   September 30th, 2009 1:59 pm ET

Everyone wants to see the wreck....I personally wouldn't spend a dime, no a penny, to read anything from this woman's brain....I was gonna say anything she wrote, but we all know better than to think she actually wrote it. If she did it must be a ramble-fest.

Confused   September 30th, 2009 1:58 pm ET

So a book that noone has read or reviewed yet is a best-seller already, even though it won't be out until November?
All this proves is that Palin is going to make some serious bank off of this, even if the book is a heap of garbage, and that Conservatives are not informed consumers.

what is amazing, "amazing" is the stupidity in the remark that the libs fear Palin. the only thing they fear is that someone so idiotic could actually be considered for an office as high as vp. she would ruin this country in a heartbeat and don't worry, the potus will show how good he is for this country in a few months to a year and palin will show how really shallow and what an opportunist she is. we do not fear her to all you who are parroting what some bozo started. what is to fear.

oh my goodness this woman panders to the dumbest Americans, the lowest common denominator

mocmach   September 30th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

I guess the Republicans don't realize that many Americans feel that way regarding their approach to health care. Given the atmosphere around the country by ultra conservatives, the impression is that the health care industry would just as soon very sick people would just go away. I think that some people don't want to find a way to reform the way hospitals do business and the way insurance companies just pay whatever the cost of care is charged. The uninsured who have treatment at hospitals pass that cost onto the insured, which raises the cost astronomically.

Oregon calling   September 30th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

I feel sad for the many thinking Americans, how can this person be a best seller? On second thought, let her sell to her heart's content, that way she won't be a "viable" person in office as she would be a "celebrity"

Peace :-)

I can see Canada from my house!   September 30th, 2009 1:52 pm ET

I suppose they are releasing the Dummies version first.....I've heard it includes a connect-the-dots section and a few pages for coloring.

Seriously, if she wants to make a few bucks off of a book touting her willingness to stab people in the back after they've helped her, all power to her: She'll just be a rich political footnote after 2012. Its just too bad there are people who are willing to pay money for something she needed to get a ghostwriter for.

This also shows just how willing conservatives are to subsidize their flavor du jour, and end up learning nothing new by reading. A book from a conservative offers nothing new, except an explosion of criticisms, whining, and bile masquerading as facts.

Romer   September 30th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

This will be a great way for Palin's followers to finally learn how to read...

Cnn please post my comment! 1 love!   September 30th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

The horrow movie Saw is a gross disgusting movie! Yet every year just around Halloween a new one is released in theatres and makes its way to number one that weekend.....Does it mean its a great wholesome movie? No! Would you watch it with your kids on Sunday morning instead of church? NO! So is Sarah palin! Americans love a train wreck and sarah palin is only fodder for the liberal media! She is a tool being used by everybody republicans and democrats! She reminds me of a monkey i once saw when i visited New Delhi dancing in the street with hordes of people clapping and cheering on! A monkey is still a monkey! Her book is garbage!

sensible Cape Coral Fl   September 30th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

I taught school for over 40 years and am thoroughtly disgusted with the stupidity of my fellow Americans. Heckeva job!

Dumb_Palin   September 30th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

Contents of Palin’s Book: --------------–>

1. I can see Russia from my Terrace, therefore I am qualified in Foreign Affairs to be US President.
2. I like Helicopter Wolf hunting, when I become US President, I will have F-16 Wolf hunting enforced.
3. I quit as Governor, I promise I will never quit as US President, Vote me 2012.
4. I love children, therefore on all my political rallies, my kids walk with me on stage. Politics is more important than schools for kids, But if Media reports them, I will say to the new Governor, “so leave his kids alone”.
5. When I talk nonsense, people should still praise me, or I will have old bumper sticker that said, "Alaska. We Don't Give a Darn How They Do It Outside?"
:)

Reconsidering my 2010 Vote   September 30th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

Elle, first try just going to work. From there, maybe you'll pick up some basic principles so that you too may be successful.

Msenforser   September 30th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

The liberal's heads are exploding- I love it!! God bless the Republic of the United States and God bless Sarah Palin.

southerncousin   September 30th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

Sounds like the most successful coloring book ever.

Truth-Bomb Thrower   September 30th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

She's laughing all the way to the bank. :-)

Romer   September 30th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

I wasn't sure that she can read or write!

Nancy W.   September 30th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

She's only out to get rich now, and she will. Her book was supposed to be a spring release, but she knows that getting it out to the masses in November will ensure huge holiday sales. All I can say is, she's a huge joke, but she certainly got very very lucky when McCain picked her as his running mate. Otherwise, no one would be clamoring to read this book. As a staunch dem, I know I don't need to read this. All the "good parts" will be in magazine excerpts and quoted by a multitude of television personalities. Please, let this be the absolute last of her. She can take her butt load of money, dress to the nines, live the life she's always wanted, and leave the good people of American alone.

Scott   September 30th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

She understands economics....thanks...that's the best laugh I had all day!!!

This is the same idiot who put a jet up for sale on Ebay, 3 times, and took a loss on it!! Maybe you're right. That does sound like the Republican understanding of economics. Right up there with the $400 dollar hammer and $500 toilet seat.

Kerzell, CA   September 30th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

The republicants have proven over and over again – they are the terrorists. This is nothing more than an illusion – they bought the books to make her seem relevant – give it a couple months, and we will see it in the .99 cents stores!!

Sharon   September 30th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

Should be easy reading. You betcha!

mims   September 30th, 2009 1:46 pm ET

I'm surprised the woman can write. she certainly can't speak

Hugo   September 30th, 2009 1:46 pm ET

Liberals, besmirch and denigrate at your will, truth and common sense will prevail where your Messiah's liberal agendas fail. Palin may or may not be the chosen one but the ideals and common sense reality shared by most for smaller government control will reign supreme in the end.

Jules   September 30th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

Really? You liberals must really be threatened if the best you can do is make lame cracks about color crayons and illiteracy. Such immature and baseless comments read like a middle schooler's Facebook page – which explains why you can't recognize an intelligent woman when you see one.

Four and The Door   September 30th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

I look forward to getting my own copy. Sarah Palin is wonderful because of her straightforward understanding of what government in America is supposed to be, how it should work for the people and make the things happen to improve the future for the next generations of Americans. This is in stark contrast to the current collection of Washington politicians who are more concerned about who do I need to please next, who do I owe and what is better for my career? They could learn a lot I'm sure by reading what she has to say.

Sandra   September 30th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

Really people when you buy her book you are giving her power. It is really scary that someone of her inability can get this far. I am really concerned about Americans. I would seriously support a protest banning the sale of this book just like she banned teaching the children in Alaska about Dwarnism and support for abstinence only programs for teenagers . We need to stop this craziness of supporting people like her and Paris Hilton...........why do we care about them???? They are cut from the same cloth. Two people who have gained finacially by being the "village idiot". However, Palin's success with this book has far reaching implications this could build her popularity with the unintelligent who are unable to think critically in the far right and this is dangerous to our country!

Tom   September 30th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

You wanna waste your money on this tripe, go right ahead. And while you're at it, run her for president in 2012. It would be very satisfying to see Obama cakewalk all over her.

Lois   September 30th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

If we don't become a better educated society, we surely are doomed.

Phat Elvis   September 30th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Ann Coulter has #1 sellers too, but it doesnt mean she's relevant. just more garbage from the right

lyn davis   September 30th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

I will admit for once she was smart to write the book.......if you buy it you are the dummy!!!

Fitz in Texas   September 30th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

I'm going to purchase the book just to upset the people that don't like Sarah Palin.

aa   September 30th, 2009 1:43 pm ET

yup i just found out that in United States we will have 1.5 million idiots reading Palins book

zago   September 30th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

Please don't wake me up. I am reading a book about gov Palin. K

Betty in Pa   September 30th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Does anyone really think this woman is capable of writing a book?? Someone wrote it for her with her saying ok to everything. I am a woman and hate to even imagine her anywhere in government. She honestly should stay out of politics and go back to being the soccer mom she was so frequent to call herself.

Scott   September 30th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Hopefully Sarah at least gave McCain a knobjob for picking her as his VP candidate. She'd never have ghostwritten a book that Conservative companies propel to the best seller list and keep locked away in a warehouse any other way.

chuck   September 30th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

I do hope she will tell how many Republicans came knocking at her front door. Just imagine which front door I'm speaking about.

Willy Brown   September 30th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

Another #1 book from a conservative. The truth always wins liberals.

once upon a horse   September 30th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

is ANYONE really surprised at this? Of course it's gonna be number one but that's only because righties will support it and buy it off the shelves...Limbaugh,Hannity, and Glenn probably had pre orders just to boost it up. Only in America rings true here as well. I bet if Levi wrote a tell all book it would be number one as well.

AJ in Austin Tx   September 30th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

I'm going to buy a copy for all of my liberal friends and watch their heads explode!

Jake   September 30th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

Do you think she will still be complaining about unfair media coverage? It shot you to number one, Sarah.

Now please just start working on a follow up and step away from the political stage where you have caused great damage!

Julia - Native American from Idaho   September 30th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Does it come with instruction on how to pagaent walk, and a free box of crayolas? I'll buy the book the next time there's a shortage of toilet paper.

Terry from West Texas   September 30th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Palin doesn't read books and she cannot write one. Her ghost writer is hard at work on a self-promoting work of fiction that will masquerade as Palin's work. Palin will not even read her own "autobiography". Short attention span.

Regressive Party Refugee   September 30th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Wow! This must be the best selling comic book of all time!

And who knew we had so many comic book readers!

beeg   September 30th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

I preordered one yesterday and can't wait until I get it. Go Sarah!

Rog   September 30th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

I LOVE IT!!!
And for those of you putting her down for thinking that she is not intelligent need only look to Biden...Enough said on THAT one

afp   September 30th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

Of course it's going to go to #1. But she didn't write it – her ghost writer and co-auther did. Anybody can "write" a book – and she has a "name" and a national platform. So what? Who cares?

But, here is an exception to the old aying "You can't judge a book by it's cover." In this case, I think we can.

NICE REAL NICE   September 30th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

if she is do dumb how come she has a number one book and you are sitting behind a computer screen criticizing her?

hahahahahhahha.

ironic isn't it?

Beau Ned Hicks   September 30th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

It has a centerfold. What else has she got to show?
Memoirs are generally issued by elderly, accomplished and innovative people. Sarah Palin is none of the above.
The gigantic preorder numbers reflect optimistic sales plans of Wal Mart,
Borders, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, etc. They do not necessarily indicate consumption by end users although the hype behind this majestic piece of shyte will doubtless cause many a fool to be separated from his cash.

val   September 30th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

She will make millions on selling her book, but according to the NY Post they are not booking her, because she's a idiot and not a very interesting person to her speak.

normajean   September 30th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

The more letters I read, the more I question the intelligence of the 'SO CALLED' average person..One says Sarah understands economics, and now we'll get the truth....come on, what truth are you talking about? It woulld be a first for her.Sarah is a personality with very little to say that isn't written for her. Real authors take years to write a book, she did this last month according to her news sources.I will say she's smart on one thing, she knows that there are enough suckers out there that buy her facade and will spend good money on a throwaway book.Heaven help us....

Northwest   September 30th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

I wasn't aware that Palin fans knew HOW to read
Must be a picture book
Or a pop-up!

the southern conservative   September 30th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

can we say propaganda...

and it is no suprise that she has a few million devout followers.. no one has ever disputed her numbers.... but the rest of us realize that the few million that want her to be their leader, just isnt the amount of people needed to get elected president of our country, much less her party's own nomination. so i say, good for you sarah, now we all know why you quit your job, so you could finish your book in time for the gift buying season.. too bad the lower and middle class are still financially suffering due to republican deregulation and cant afford to buy hardback books.

Beverly - NYC   September 30th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

Wonder how many copies are being bought by Rush, Sean and the folks at Fox to inflate the numbers . I would sooner take personal financial advice from Madoff than waste a second reading anything ghost written by this lying wench. As much as I am trying to avoid mention of anything Palin, I am sure I will hear more about this book than I care too from the many news outlets who will waste time fact checking and disecting it's contents for weeks after it's release.

Truth   September 30th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

Go Sarah Go.

I Already have the book pre-ordered on Amazon. What an amazing lady and she will be our next president. That will drive the left to absolute lunacy and I'll have the popcorn ready to watch.

Somebody strong has to come in and clean up the mess after this circus leaves.

Ken in NC   September 30th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

I just made a post here and had a very funny thought. Comedians like Leno, Letterman and others will have a wealth of material at their disposal for months, if not years, to come.

Thanks Sarah. LOL

Steve, New York City   September 30th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

Congratulations to (former) governor Palin on her book . . .hopefully the editor worked extra-hard, to correct all of those grammatical mistakes.

G NO P   September 30th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

She spelled the title wrong
It should read, Going Rogue: An American Lie
432 pages, you have to be kidding – How many pages does it take to describe a half term quitter? Give it about 60 days and it will be on the bargain shelf for $1.98 right next to Ann Coulter.

LOL Randolph Carter- you are exactly right.

southerncousin   September 30th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

Outstanding, all the libs are buying it thinking it is Tina Fey. That is what they in their ignorance believe. Make a lot of money off those libs girl. Of course most of them will probably shoplift it in their drug induced stupor or have it deliverered by SEIU/ACORN using out tax dollars.

Sarah Austin   September 30th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

buying the book? ...Well, I sometimes like to know what the idiots think.

rob   September 30th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

# 1 where? Walmart ?

The title should have been "Sarah's book of lies"

JG   September 30th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

Looks like you republicans have a lot of one sided reading to do this month. You've got Glenn Beck's book and now Palin's.

they sure do know how to exploit their target audience...lol

Rob in Detroit Mi.   September 30th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

Chris - MN   September 30th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

The take-away from the GOP ticker comments today – science is bad, and giving Palin money for her writing is good.

Navy Vet   September 30th, 2009 1:27 pm ET

A little bit of wisdom for the right who seem to think the left fear Palin. The left doesn't fear Palin in the least. It wouldn't have mattered who she was, left or right, man or women. It has been her exceptionally polarizing behavior and actions that has gotten her attention and continues to do so.

Ms. Palin is good at inciting the frontal lobes of the extreme right into thinking that their loud boisterous noise is equal to making ground politically. In other words, if you have to say something stupid, say it loudly.

You can't win with just the base, you have to be inclusive. A personality trait that Ms. Palin more than severely lacks.

And just as her polarizing behavior helped get the Dems and Independents to vote against the no answer right before, she is on her way to doing it again.

Ken   September 30th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

This only points to the fact of how many morons are out here in the public. She's going to pocket alot of money from all the birth-baggers, and run smiling to the bank. Alot of dumb, uberpartisan rightwingers will be separated from their money. And, actually, I find that a reason to celebrate. Congratulations Sarah Moose.

Ken in NC   September 30th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

I can understand the publisher printing 1.5 millions copies of Palin’s book. There are a lot more than 1.5 million idiots in this country and the publishers objective is only to make money. As for why it only took 4 months to complete her book, well she's not done anything that would take longer than 4 months to write about. It appears that everything she started, she quit. Not a lot to write about there. She will probably use most of the book explaining how she quit one task to assume a more important one and to lay blame to all those that took pot shots at her.

Her book definitely will not be one about her successes because she has never finished anything she started. In fact I would venture to say that the last page of her book will be a blank page. About the only positive thing I can say about her is in reference to a comment my mother used to make to us as children. She often caught us playing around when we were supposed to be working and she would say to us: " If you are going to act stupid, you should at least get paid to do it". Well she is getting paid now but at what cost to her future ability to earn.

georgie   September 30th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

sweet Jesus we are all doomed? is that because we have an idiot for president? and a man who is more worried about the olimpics than the wars and job losses in our country running everything. or is it becaue every time you try to make what he says into the truth, you get called racist? come on all you obama nuts, wake up and listen to him, and you will know why this book is jumping to number 1!

tommy   September 30th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

The only reason people watch her is that she's good looking. If she was heavy set and not so good looking, no one would even care. It has nothing to do with Left or right. Its like people always watching the Stars on ET.

Brent   September 30th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

Who would have guessed there are so many people willing to shell out hard-earned money to buy a book full of lies and distortions from an intellectual lightweight. I guess the old saying holds true, "you'll never lose money underestimating the intelligence of the general public."

John C   September 30th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

Maybe she will have a ltitle success pandering to the ignorant and make herself a litle money. She has been a complete failure at everything else she has done. Mayor – failure, Governor- failure, vo candidate- failure. Good luck Sarah, you may have found something you can finish and not end up a financial disaster.

Robert   September 30th, 2009 1:22 pm ET

This "memoir" was written for her. She probably can't even read it. According to Levi Johnson (see current Vanity Fair) Palin doesn't read anything, she just hangs out in her bedroom watching junky TV shows.

Money, Money, Money!!!   September 30th, 2009 1:22 pm ET

It's all about money for Sarah Palin. Plain and simple. She is the BIGGEST OPPORTUNIST ever. She should be ashame of herself and to hear her speak about Christian values.

Sniffit   September 30th, 2009 1:21 pm ET

Besides, it's well known that the GOP and conservatives have rich benefactors buy up huge allotments of these books. It's been revealed with espect to morons like Coulter etc. It gives the impression that the person who wrote it or about whom it was written is popular and their ideas are liked...at least, it gives the GOP and neocons the ammo to make such a silly claim. I think it's safe to say we can chalk this one up to our society's morbid fascination with self-destructive idiocy tho...buying the book much like they would slow down while passing a car accident in hopes of getting a glimpse of one of the mangled bodies.

ConsiderThis-FL   September 30th, 2009 1:20 pm ET

Perverted capitalism. Only in America. No limit to what people will buy.

John C   September 30th, 2009 1:20 pm ET

It's no surprise that Palin fans will buy the book with no idea what is in it. Whatever it say's does not really matter. They don't lover her for the things she says and does, and the facts just get in the way anyway. I am sure a lot of them will buy it and never bother to read it, just to blindly support her. As dumb as Palin is, her followers reach a new level of ignorance everyday.

ICARE   September 30th, 2009 1:20 pm ET

Ah the beauty of America!! There's a place for everyone and we all dotn have to be cloned to look like the same sheep.

God bless our diversity and God help us to come together to make this a great country!

Wake Up   September 30th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

Liberals don't buy books anyway, they only listen to moveon, and read basement blogs of jobless people who live in their parents basements. I love reading how programmed the libs are. It's such a joke, that it's understandable why they need govt. to manage their lives.

dave   September 30th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

only in the USA!!

Gerald   September 30th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

The poor libs will have to live through weeks of their precious MSNBC trying to bash the Sarah success. Sorry for you hateful socialist idiots, "If you are young and not a liberal, you have no heart. If you are old and not a conservative, you have no brain."
–Winston Churchill

Marty, Grand Rapids MI   September 30th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

I should get into the business of taking advantage of the 21% of the population that thought George Bush was doing a good job. I would just make things up and contradict myself all the time. Really, as long as I'm fanning the flames and saying what they want to hear, I'll make millions.

Chet in Dallas   September 30th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

Who are these mindless sorts who criticize a great, and bold woman? Of course, they believe that it would be better to vote for a community organizer who never managed anything as PRESIDENT rather than a dynamic Governor for Vice President. Most of us see this for what it is-attack anyone's character who threatens the far left. Go back and read about Stalin, Chavez, Castro, and a thousand other despots. Same tactics. We are not fooled-and we won't be in the 2010 elections either.

Mitch   September 30th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

I hope it's a picture book so her supporters can 'read' it. I'm not sure they have that skill yet. Better yet, I heard Palin had to have it read back to her because the writers used words with two or more syllables.

And these are the same people who call Democrats 'kool aid' drinkers because they support the president. At least Obama has an IQ higher than his shoe size.

Expat American   September 30th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

The book should have been called:

"Stick your chin out, prove yourself to be an unread unintelligent folksy slack jaw, call yourself a pit bull with lipstick and then cry sexism when you get whipped like a government mule...oh and blame your bigotry on your American Conservative Bastardization of European Christianity"

just behind Glenn Beck's "Arguing with Idiots"   September 30th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

so Palin's book is selling to someone

I'm guessing there is a warehouse in western texas that is filling up with boxes of her book paid for by Palin PAC

Todd Palin must be laughing all the way to the bank and he doesn't have a high school diploma. People, you've been had big time.

Chris - Denver   September 30th, 2009 1:14 pm ET

Well, I had already lost all faith in the book-buying public since Michelle Malkin, Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter and the rest of the right wing imbecile squad regularly frequent the top of the NYT best-seller list. Why would you use the wonderful gift of reading to go out and make yourself dumber?

MRT   September 30th, 2009 1:12 pm ET

These comments from both sides make me sick.. Who could dare say they are proud to be Americans after reading all this hatred You may not think much of us Canadians but at least we are civil. How many would write these things if their name and city had to be published...COWARDS..........

Mike in MN   September 30th, 2009 1:12 pm ET

I can't wait to buy it. As soon as I finish reading Glenn Beck's book 'Arguing With Idiots' I will read Palin's new book. I'm so greatful that there are still people in the nation like Palin and Beck who believe in the greatness of America and understand we are great because of individual freedoms.

BCO   September 30th, 2009 1:11 pm ET

C'est moi   September 30th, 2009 1:10 pm ET

Obviously, there are plenty out there who are eager to read Sarah Palin's book. Those who have no intention of reading it – fine. It's a free country and no one will force you to read it. But not reading it also means you lose all credibility when it comes to commenting about the book, so all your "it must come with crayons" and "must be a pop-up book" comments only reveal you to be uninformed fools.

Thomas, AK   September 30th, 2009 1:09 pm ET

Yeah Right.... Most of proably "bulk" sells.... The title itself tells you what sort of person she is.... Just an idiot period.

david, CA   September 30th, 2009 1:09 pm ET

...and the dumbing of America continues apace!
Palin and Beck are poster children of the Republican Stupidity Movement that hit it's stride since George W. Bush made being a charismatic moron fashionable among right-wing true believers.

Aaron   September 30th, 2009 1:09 pm ET

Bwaahahaaaa! Run Sarah Run! Sarah Palin in 2012! Sarah Palin has my heartfelt encouragement to run in 2012! Woooohoooo!!!! :D

tara   September 30th, 2009 1:09 pm ET

People. Please calm down....... This is what happens with most of these right wing crazy books. Right wing groups like the Heritage Foundation and others buy the books in mass sometime 10,000 or more coppies at a time. They send them to their members for joining or give them out for free at conferences etc.. Its not like people just go running to buy them so calm down. ...... However. She does have a following at that is very sad. America has been dumbed down. And you have people like Rush Limbaugh and others convincing everyday americans that they don't need to go to college. That higher education is just liberal brainwashing (yes he says this on a regular bases). All an attempt to keep the masses uneducated and uninformed, so that they would actually think someone like Sara P. who could not even recall a newspaper she read after several attempts would make a good VP and potentially Pres.

Expat American   September 30th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

It's not uncommon for any 'out of the ordinary' book to quickly go to no1 initially; simple marketing. Didn't all those biographies of professional wrestlers do the same thing? This is America after all.

This doesn't mean much. The educated world abroad still dismisses her and laughs at her 'Real America' bigots.

jm for sc   September 30th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

Lori in St Pete   September 30th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

Contrary to the opinions such as Amazing's, the only thing I fear about palin is that I'm not "christian" (with a lower case "c") enough for her and her Dominionist crusaders. Come to think of it, there aren't many of us who DO fit her narrow, hateful version of "christianity".

Dami   September 30th, 2009 1:07 pm ET

Now we know why she left office

Jeff   September 30th, 2009 1:07 pm ET

To those saying conservative books and tv ratings are better than liberal ones. You are right. It is a part of the right wing conspiracy to dumb down America, so that the rich can continue to control the wealth. The sad thing is conservatives buy into the rights propaganda not even knowing or understanding they are pawns on a chess board controlled by oligarchs. Sorry if this is over your head, but it is time for your epiphany. And, sadly it is true. And sadly, it is America...a majority of IDIOTS !!! Wake up, education first!

David   September 30th, 2009 1:07 pm ET

Is it pop-up, or for coloring?

CB   September 30th, 2009 1:07 pm ET

Its just sad state of affairs... Rogue is a person of low standards... the same sort of standards of someone leaving a position of elected office where you were elected by the people, and when the going got tough... she got out of office. Its all about the money, and if dumb people want to spend their money on what other dumb people have to say... by all means, I hope she takes them all to the bank, because its all about the greed for money and fame... sad and shameful.

Patricia T.   September 30th, 2009 1:06 pm ET

I guess I am curious - a 400+ page book written by a woman who can't put together two coherent thoughts, couldn't name a newspaper or magazine she reads, and believes Africa is a country. Aside from doing a good job reading a speech at the convention, just what has she contributed to the national conversation? She seems to have no obvious skills - not to mention her divisive and mean-spirited rhetoric during the campaign . . .

I'm not afraid of her; I'm not jealous of her - I just wish she were more intelligent. Now that her book is causing such a buzz, I guess she's gonna be around a bit longer. To all her supporters - remember how she didn't even serve out her term as governor. And you're thinking she might be president? Oh my . . .

One interesting thought: the book might prod her into some actual interviews, where she might have to actually answer questions, unlike Facebook. No more ideas framed by someone else! Ooooh!

tv   September 30th, 2009 1:06 pm ET

May God have mercy on each one of us !!

Not Right or Left but Forward   September 30th, 2009 1:06 pm ET

Unbelievable. Are people so desparate for heat already that they're buying this thing to burn? There is no earthly way that woman could write that many pages and have it in finished, ready to sell form in that short a span. This thing was started the day she accepted the nomination from McCain, and she probably wrote 10% of it, if that. The rest is transcribed blather and mush.

The woman is a quitter, a fraud, a crook, a tax cheat, and not such a great mom, it seems, either. Will wait and see what Todd says about anything else. What a joke.

But as long as CNN keeps her in the news, we'll keep paying attention like neighbors watching a house fire.

mark   September 30th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

Go Sarah!

Steve (the real one)   September 30th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

#1! Whatever happened to the ridiculous predictions by the angry, foaming -at-the-mouth liberals. Remember stating nobody would read it? Would you like hot sauce with that crow, salt or pepper? Ms Cleo had better luck predicting the future and she was a fraud! Please keep the laughs coming lefties! I am loving the ignorant "coloring book" or "book of lies" comments from those who will not read the book! You are #1 in exactly what, again?

Buster   September 30th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

Palin has always been smarter than Obama. Palin doesn't lie everytime she speaks like Obama. Palin isn't surrounded by a bunch of thugs and ACORN like Obama. No wonder the book is #1.

Doug   September 30th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

Imagine the guy they got to proofread this thing. He's probably still bug-eyed.

No Hillary = No Obama   September 30th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

This woman will be laughing all the way to the bank – the best revenge – becoming rich.

sarahinfla   September 30th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Talk about falling for something hook line and sinker..... This hack is getting rich off of people who can in no way think she can really run this country.

Yet I guess this makes some feel like there going rouge, I hope this hack gives credit were it's due.....Good line Tine Faye...... It will always be yours.

Florida Joe   September 30th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Wonderful.....does it come with a pack of crayons or do you have to get those seperately?

What a waste of $$$ to give this idiot anything.............

Robert   September 30th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Will it, I wonder, be like her in speeches in Yoda-speak they are?

Mike in MN   September 30th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Awsome!!!! I'm going to buy one, can't wait to read it. I just love people who understand what makes America the greartest nation in the world, who believes in the values that make America great. Palin is a great American. The more we have like her, the greater our nation will be.

Someone Who Cares   September 30th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Some people are helping the idiot pay off her bills so she can leave First Dude and move to the State her dad is running for office. If the people there think he is worthy then by all means listen to Sarah.

Justwatching2   September 30th, 2009 1:03 pm ET

How does a book become #1 without anybody reading it?

Nate from Atlanta   September 30th, 2009 1:03 pm ET

Not suprising. She is one of the most polarizing figures in the past decade. I don't agree with her ideologies or her politics but for some reason I find her very interesting so I can see why she will sell a ton of books.

Mix   September 30th, 2009 1:03 pm ET

anything to take the heat off the Dems failing health care fiasco. All you haters that are posting haven't forgot about that- you just ignore it

tom   September 30th, 2009 1:02 pm ET

Pretty expensive toilet paper.

Chris   September 30th, 2009 1:02 pm ET

You do realize that special interest buys these books in order to indirectly pay these politicians. How many politicians have best sellers and who actually buys these books?

Gary   September 30th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

The Republican and conservative books outsell the liberal books. The Republican and conservative talk radio shows have higher ratings than the liberal talk radio shows. The Republican and conservative cable opinion leaders (O'Rielly, Beck, Hannity, Dobbs) get better ratings than the liberal shows. I think this country is a wee bit right of center. We elected Obama for change not for ultra liberal Nancy Pelosi laws....Congress and President Obama need to listen to the people or they will all get voted out of office.

Lynda   September 30th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

I wouldn't pay a dime to eat with her, I would pay a nickle to see her, I would pay a penney to even talk to her.........and if someone give me the book for Christmas I will use it for a fire in my fireplace...........

Ron   September 30th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

Guess the book title answered all our questions about Sarah – deceitful, and unreliable person; a scoundrel or rascal. She will tell how she hates the President, and how she hate America was not dumb enough to elect her as VP. Now she want's to sell the book fast – b/c her glamour girl look will fade by spring....Blithering i.d.i.o.t...I

The fools who brought this brought is from the rallies of haterd. Period.

best sellers list   September 30th, 2009 1:00 pm ET

The evangelicans are buying it by the pallet load and handing them out at church.hahahaha

Elle   September 30th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

This is disgusting. Seriously? This woman proves herself to be the most idiotic in the world of politics (and that's saying a lot), and there are that many idiots scrambling to read her worthless babble? Incredible. I guess if I want to be a Millionaire I need to find a way to drop my IQ by 50+ points and then write a book about it.

John   September 30th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

Palin's book #1?

I'll bet it has large font, short sentences, and lots of simple pictures.

andrew st louis   September 30th, 2009 12:56 pm ET

everybody loves a trainewreck cant keep your eyes of fools and their actions. this should be under the comedy section

JPV   September 30th, 2009 12:56 pm ET

Go Sarah! .....whats the old saying? If you want to piss off a conservative, tell a lie. If you want to piss off a liberal, tell the truth.

John   September 30th, 2009 12:55 pm ET

Conservatives have it all figured out. Make me rich, brought to you by the P.T. Barnum school of there's a sucker in every crowd. Palin will make more money off the suckers than she ever would have had she finished the job she was elected to do.

Jeff   September 30th, 2009 12:55 pm ET

Wow, astounding...I mean so many idiots to buy this book. The title of it should be: 'How To Do Poor Academically, Be A Quitter And Still Be a Millionaire' or 'Nobody to Somebody Without Skills' I'll pass thanks. Sadly, this is now America.

Dennis   September 30th, 2009 12:54 pm ET

did Obama actually write his book, or did he read it off a teleprompter?

Jacob   September 30th, 2009 12:53 pm ET

Sweet jesus, we are all doomed!

JB   September 30th, 2009 12:53 pm ET

She is right on the money about death panels in this crappy Obamacare bill. I wonder why conservative books always overshadow liberal books on the best seller lists....just like the cable ratings. And kiss your public option goodbye....unless you go nuclear.....I dare you.

B. Churchill   September 30th, 2009 12:53 pm ET

There is a long-established model whereby books by conservative authors reach "impressive" sales figures – conservative organizations but them in bulk and give them away to members and donors as "gifts". The organizations get tax write-offs, and the authors get bragging rights – however thin the fiction may be. In this case, even the publisher is in on the scam – Harper Collins is owned by Rupert Murdoch, and by virtue (or lack thereof) of his multi-million dollar advance to SP – she's his employee. One-at-a-time sales of these books is notoriously low, but don't believe me – just look in the remaindered bin and at Goodwill in a month or so...

Nuculer   September 30th, 2009 12:52 pm ET

If this lady's book is number one, we have problems. Why is logic such a taboo thing in this fine country?

Impeach the Joker   September 30th, 2009 12:51 pm ET

I guess OBUMMER will have to write a book now so he can try to stay in the lime light.

IMPEACH THE JOKER NOW

Sherry   September 30th, 2009 12:51 pm ET

Will this book be listed as a horror novel? It scares ME...

wait a minute   September 30th, 2009 12:50 pm ET

Obama rule!
No Palin and alike will invest in science and technology as President Obama would.
We finally have got some hope in recovery.

Chtei   September 30th, 2009 12:49 pm ET

Sarah Palin can read?

johnmccain   September 30th, 2009 12:49 pm ET

People just love the magazines at the grocery store check out line. This book will be the collection of innuendos and half truths what America is craving for. You can not regard the lindsaylohans and brittanyspears serious leaders in a country... But the number of dark minds are huge in this country.

Otto   September 30th, 2009 12:48 pm ET

Sure...of course; there are more than 40 million Republicans who would love to buy her book. As for me, I'd like to see the last words "The End" nothing more from the "betcha" lady.

Zach K   September 30th, 2009 12:48 pm ET

Oh look! More Palin News!

Seriously, keep it going CNN. The more I hear about her I laugh at her constant failures. :)

TangledThorns   September 30th, 2009 12:48 pm ET

I'll buy a few copies, for myself and family/friends. I'm excited as Sarah Palin is the best conservative candidate to beat Obama in 2012.

CATINA   September 30th, 2009 12:48 pm ET

sarah is great.........................................

Claire   September 30th, 2009 12:47 pm ET

Maybe we're not in as much economical trouble as we thought if people have enough money to put Glenn Beck's book at No. 3 with Sarah Palin's right behind that. Geez.....what are people thinking???

Independent   September 30th, 2009 12:47 pm ET

I will buy it.

Liberals only dislike her because she bashed Obama's glass jaw during her acceptance speech. And everything she said, and Hillary said during the primaries about Obama's inexperience has proven to be true.

Randy in STL   September 30th, 2009 12:46 pm ET

Who cares what this QUITTER says?

There will always be an audience for clowns like her amongst the uninformed and Feeble minded

Lori in St Pete   September 30th, 2009 12:45 pm ET

How many books were sold individually, and how many were sold in bulk? My guess is very few individuals actually bought the book. A far more likely scenario is they were bulk-purchased by her various PACs and will end up sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

AEK   September 30th, 2009 12:45 pm ET

A word to the wise for the people who just purchased Mrs. Palin's book sight unseen...

You do realize that by the the time the book is released in November, you will have to be reading at least at the fourth grade level. Still time to accompany your children to elementary school to get a jump on some of the larger one syllable words though.

SOUTHERN HOTTIE   September 30th, 2009 12:45 pm ET

did she actually write it?
i wonder how many times the word "also" will appear.

hockey dad   September 30th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

So many idiots, lining up to hear what another idiot has to say.

Ted Tartaglia   September 30th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

This just shows you how much the religious neo-cons love this lady. They think she is the future of the Repub party because they have no one else.

We Won Get Over It   September 30th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

Just goes to show....repubicans love corruption, commonest and LIES.

Dutch/Bad Newz, VA   September 30th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

I would buy the book just so I can use it as target practice.

Dave in FL   September 30th, 2009 12:43 pm ET

Stop writing about this charlatan so she can slip away into obscurity. She is irrelevant and doesn't matter. Just like a year ago.

Fair is Fair   September 30th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

I'm giving copies to all my misguided liberal friends as Christmas gifts.

Obama Victim   September 30th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

maybe some day the Dems will have a book people care about....................by the way...can most Dems even read??......I mean besides their welfare checks??

Kevin Denver Colorado   September 30th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

I once saw a puppet show where a pair of dogs beat each other with sticks. The house was full and people were clapping loudly too!
-Stage Beauty

Bubble of Sanity   September 30th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

Isn't it funny how, if you judged the world by the people who post in here, Beck and Palin wouldn't be able to sell a book. Suddenly, they are both best-sellers. I haven't planned to buy either one, but it may show how far from reality the majority of post-ers are in here.

hayden zeke   September 30th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

How can you write a memoir about items you didn't remember in the first place?

Matt   September 30th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

Good to see the teabaggers have something to buy in bulk besides bullets. Maybe we can send a million or so copies to Cuba, where they are apparently running out of toilet paper.

barbara   September 30th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

some obdervations.
for the longest time now, its CONSERVATIVE thinkers whose books are number one. that tells me that there are an awful lot of conservative like minded folks out there that like to read. secondly, those more apt to buy these books are likely to have jobs and therefore can afford them. Thirdly, the people that hear about these books more often tune into those channels on tv or radio that push the sale. in anutshell:
Those people more apt to buy books listed as number one on the best seller list are conservatives who are gainfully employed and listen to conservative radio and/or watch Fox News Network. Everyone else loses out on the truth as it really is and as it is observed by at least 1/2 of the country.

FL for Change   September 30th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

A fool and his money are quickly parted. I heard it comes with crayons, a map of Russia, and a high-powered riffle to shoot wolves with. I'd buy it...if I was running low on toilet paper.

ran   September 30th, 2009 12:38 pm ET

I do not care.

CNN please stop reporting on this person.

Spend time instead reporting on our men/women in the military.

MHammon   September 30th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

I didn't know any Palin supporters could read. We know she can't.

Fred   September 30th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

my first question is: who wrote it for her???

second question: does it come with crayons or do we have to buy our own???

Mark   September 30th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

Well as much as CNN attacks her im not surprised she went to number 1.

shoegazer   September 30th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

Shouldn't take long to read,432 pages and 387 of them are pictures of herself.

JOY   September 30th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

My goodness, those pages will be filled with flashing fingers, squits and contortions of the jaw. For sure it will lack depth but will have flowery language .Awaiting the joker

cad   September 30th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

I can hear Sarah Palin laughing all the way to the bank. Our news media has made her rich by their constant slander ridicule.

J.Crobuzon   September 30th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

I'm not buying it, but I didn't buy her stuff the first time around either. A relief that she's given up politics and burned her bridges with the GOP now; perhaps she can run for dogcatcher as an independent?

Joyce in South Carolina   September 30th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

The old adage applies – "A fool is born every minute"

I guess there are a lot of fools out there.

I wouldn't waste my money buying her book.............just like flushing money down the toilet.

Jeff in Houston   September 30th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

Must have lots of pretty pictures. Cannot have much in terms of content, analytical thought, reasoning, or any of that other silly stuff.

g   September 30th, 2009 12:34 pm ET

don,t worry once she milk,s as much money as she can,s out of america she,ll be gone palin wrote a book RIGHT

S.B. Stein E.B. NJ   September 30th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

I would pick it up in the BARGIN section if I were to get close. I doubt that there is really much she has to say that I am willing to believe that she dreamed up herself. Will she create an industry of proofing her book after it comes out like Ann "I'm really a self hating liberal" Coulter has?

I am waiting for the publisher to push the release date early and not have the books ready. They did that in 2004 with the anti-Kerry book which would have killed his career if it was done during the 1980's or if the cold war was still going on.

KATHLEEN   September 30th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

Palin will get "rich" from Americans money! But she is against
95% of what Americans need and want. Palin is strickly for the
"Very RICH people in America!

America supports the very people that are "against" them.

bj   September 30th, 2009 12:32 pm ET

Soon to be found in dollar stores!

Randolph Carter   September 30th, 2009 12:32 pm ET

Not surprising. Lest we forget, Americans are the people who think Britney Spears is a good musician, Fox news practices journalism, Adam Sandler is funny and Olive Garden is real Italian food. No taste or class. Have a nice day!

Babs   September 30th, 2009 12:32 pm ET

I'm not in the least driven to know any more than I already do about this woman. I think that she portrayed herself in the past election and left nothing uncovered. She is a woman who seeks attention at any cost. The last thing that I would do is promote her.

Pete Caloger   September 30th, 2009 12:32 pm ET

How pathetic. It is a shame that so many Americans will spend money on this vapid garbage.

Josie   September 30th, 2009 12:32 pm ET

People are excited to see a young, competent, and accomplished woman like Sarah Palin take center stage. Sarah is a true conservative.

Tammy   September 30th, 2009 12:31 pm ET

and the media are giving it free publicity (worth millions)

Maggie   September 30th, 2009 12:31 pm ET

The truth coudn't be put any plainer.

Ajoker   September 30th, 2009 12:31 pm ET

Another book of lies......

Tammy   September 30th, 2009 12:31 pm ET

Who is actually going to buy this tome? Will it be in big letters (that's why the 400 pages) and double-spaced? And we thought "The DaVinci Code" was a hyped-up rip-off!

Joe   September 30th, 2009 12:30 pm ET

Sounds like the most successful coloring book ever.

Amazing   September 30th, 2009 12:30 pm ET

Contrary to the opinions on this board, Palins popularity lives on and the Left fears her. I would take her over Obama any day, atleast she understands economics.

Navy Vet   September 30th, 2009 12:29 pm ET

All freak accidents attract gawkers.

Phil   September 30th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

Number 1? Who know so many from the other side could read?! It will become an instant classic, I tell ya. Right up there with "My Pet Goat" Who buys these books anyway PACs?

Laurie in Spokane   September 30th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

I can't believe there are so many people wasting their hard-earned money on Palin's book. Unless they're going to use it to line the bird cage or cat box........

Just sayin'   September 30th, 2009 12:27 pm ET

Wooo-hoooo! Go Sarah!
