Pressure increases on Obama over Afghanistan

President Obama is under increasing pressure to decide whether the United States will commit more troops and resources to the conflict in Afghanistan.

President Obama is under increasing pressure to decide whether the United States will commit more troops and resources to the conflict in Afghanistan.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Obama is under increasing pressure to decide whether the United States will commit more troops and resources to the conflict in Afghanistan.

On Tuesday, the head of NATO met with the president and endorsed Obama's plan to fine-tune the strategy for Afghanistan before deciding on whether to deploy more troops.

"I agree with President Obama in his approach: strategy first, then resources," Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said after meeting with Obama at the White House.

The meeting comes a day before Obama is scheduled to discuss Afghanistan strategy with his national security team.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs backed up Rasmussen's assessment.

Obamessiah seems to care more about who gets the olympics than he does about us in the military.

Forget it, Obama have put Afghanistan on the back burner for the time being, his number one priority now is trying to get the Olympics for Chicago and his crooked cronies there.

Joy. again we see how folks in power have an unhealthy need to
pump their ego's. president Obama had many opportunities in
his quest of knowledge in the many institutions he attended and
guess what,he missed one of the most important, the rotc program.
He has an agenda that eliminates the most obvious of all needed
ways and means. He really only believes in his EGO and must
feed it with lusty fervour. Gates took all roads to his goals and
seems to be happy with his choices. He is right where he wants
to be, in a position of comfort and with options that only a few in
our history have achieved. The rest of this story I leave to anyone
    who can master basic math.

Maybe he can drag his feet just long enough to give the enemy a better advantage.

Maybe Obama needs to tap into a resource that he has, which President Bush did not have.

The Democrats in America view Obama as a god, a super natural being that they must blindly follow and act out any command he gives them without question. As we can see, these Democrats are also grooming out youth in the classrooms of our schools to worship Obama as a heavenly figure.

Obama could fight back against Al Queda and the Taliban by using their own methods against them. If Obama told the average Democrat in America that they must be a martyr for Obamaism, they would just do it, they would not even think about it, just like how they blindly support all of his policies without even a thought of questioning them. Obama could give the terrorists a taste of their own medicine, and he has millions of Democrats at his disposal who blindly support him in a god like way, just like Bin Laden, and other National Socialsts Dictators who Obama has modelled himself after.

I agree with the French President, Obama is "extremly naive and overly egotistical".

I'm sure ( and I do hope it's true ) that the public is not privvy to all of the variety of existing information that needs to be weighed in order to make this decision.

Considering this, I just hope that the answer is in fact based on military strategy and not on political strategy to placate the far left. Otherwise, if the Taliban again takes control of Afghanistan ( and then Pakistan, etc. ), future generations of Americans may have to go back and fight an even nastier war. The history books would not be kind to this administration on that decision.

Barry definitely seems to be like a deer in headlights. Naivity, no nads and political pressure from the left is putting our Country in peril. WE NEED MORE BOOTS ON THE GROUND! Obama is the Commander in Chief and he's jetting off to Europe chasing Olympic fantasies.

  15. Liberals are Hypocrites

I always love lib comments that their president is so good at "multi tasking." More like "fiddling around" and unable to make decisions until they reach a crisis stage. What good is "multi tasking" if nothing gets done?

But wait - we DO now have a farmers market near the White House. How could I forget such an awesome accomplishment!

It's too bad that our soldiers are paying the price for Obama's hate of America.

He could at least be a man about it and pull the troops and admit defeat. Similar to what he did at the UN last week.

This is sad although it is what America voted for. You know the old saying "You get what you pay for"!

These personal attacks on President Obama and the childish name calling leave me wondering if we can talk about anything in this country without provoking hateful speech. I don't think that's what the founding fathers had in mind for our democratic republic.

  20. Amazing

Obama has to make a decision, but instead he decides to jet off and lobby for the olympics, at tax payer expense. Might help if Obama talked to the people in charge more than once since taking office. Get it folks, he is staying disconnected thinking it won't be his decision and he won't get blamed. Ah, too bad he can't vote "present" on this one.

It's really very simple. GET OUT OF AFGHANISTAN! Withdraw from this stupid, stupid war.. Supporters of this useless invasion have gotta be deaf dumb and blind. Defeating the Taliban (which is NEVER gonna happen) is NOT gonna end terrorism. Terrorism is NOT in any one place......DUH! No one has ever won a war in Afghanistan. NO ONE! The Russians were there for ten years and finally saw the light and gave it up. It is not worth the life of even one more soldier. Not one. We're in hard economic times here. people are suffering and need help, we're in debt up to our necks and were spending bazillions on this? Doesn't anyone in the Government have any brains?

No one should be in a fight, unless it IS of necessity...There is a time and place for that I think the times of the world are obvious.

What one has to consider is : Is there anyone with courage left; or faith to sustain them? If the answer is no, then we should not have more troops go in as well take those there and bring them home. If the answer is yes, we should go forward..keeping in mind this will likely open the the crop of current recruits/members are war would have to be fresh blood and spirit going in.
