WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sen. George LeMieux, the newest Republican lawmaker from Florida, has stacked his office with veterans of Sunshine State politics and some former aides to Gov. Charlie Crist, LeMieux announced Wednesday.
Kerry Feehery, most recently Crist's Director of the State of Florida's Washington office, will serve as chief of staff to the new senator. Vivian Myrtetus was tapped to be the new deputy chief of staff and was a top advisor to Crist.
Crist appointed LeMieux, his former chief of staff, in August to finish the remainder of Sen. Mel Martinez's term after the GOP senator stepped down. Crist has entered the race to fill the seat in 2010.

Floridians should do themselves a favor and not support
Charlie Crist. He is a weak and inaffective politician.
Only a loser would give up the Governors mansion for a
senate seat. Crist needs to go. Hopefully a democrat will win
Florida's governors race. At least super uber idiot Jeb Bush is out.
no more president's brothers in high positions. let this be the end.
a last name should not get a politician elected even if he's stupid.
So, same ole, same ole? Is that really what Florida needs?
Like to see some comments from Floridians...
The crony appointment stacks his office with more cronies. Who woulda thunk it?
Just what Florida needs....another idiot republican.
The only worthwhile thing to come out of the state of Florida is Sen. Grayson's comments to the Republicans. Other than that it continues to be a backwards state full of Totally Confused Morons in Congress and elsewhere.
LeMieux is acting like LeSeatwarmer. Perhaps he will ask Crist how to vote on every bill? LeMieux...a true independent voice for Florida.
stacked his office with bunch of crazy idiots
Charlie Crist is a GR8 guy and works truly for Christians and their values – don't you morons even read that in his name????
Even if there is a missing "H" there, did you FORGET that not very long ago he stood in-line , begged , prayed for and with Obama to get Stimulus money for the state????
He is a strong conservative – Why do you think he did that – not for himself but for the people of Florida!!! He can do anything for them ..
I also do not disagree with him now when he wants Obama to fail.... why not ?? He got the money and his people are happy.
what a waste of money......only to leave the capitol's office for a new Liberal Senator representing all floridians to move in.......besides he is already doomed with this guy crist's former staff..........
Man!! what this technology has turned us in to. Can't even let a simple informative news let go.
Florida, South Carolina....is there a difference? Oh, only on the football field or basketball court.
What about Katherine Harris? Wha? Nothing for her? She delivers chads and a fixed 2000 election and she gets bupkus? Oh, wait a minute. Sniff. Sniff. Yep. I think I know what I'm smelling. It's gonna be a Sarah Palin/Katherine Harris 2010 GOP presidential ticket. Yeah, that's it? How would America deal with that one, huh? Ha! I'm scared. Run! CNN, PLEASE print this!
An the GOP complained bitterly about the appointment of Paul Kirk in Massachusetts!
Another example of GOP hypocrisy!
Charlie is just getting HIS staff set up in DC ahead of time. Once he takes the baton from his temporary appointment he'll have a leg-up on the usual break-in period new Senators need to get started down the path to being a complete waste of tax-payer money... He can start being really ineffectual from Day 1! Go Charlie!
A bunch of old retreads and old insider party hacks......that's really gonna shake things up! Or maybe it's just a facsimile for the 2012 Republican presidential contenders
Grayson is a rising star – we need a lot more like him. Get rid of the current bunch of old idiots! More guys like Grayson – Glad he's a Democrat!
Here' s one Flordian who thinks that Charlie Crist is not as stupid as Jeb Bush: he is too smart to come out of the closet.
I used to admire Charlie Crist but I still have the ability to think through issues and change my mind for the better. Le Mieux had better sign on to The Clean Air Act proposed by Senator Kerrry.
