Once Obama becomes unemployed, then the economy will begin to recover. Obama / Pelosi / Reid's policy of blaming business and increasing taxes is only successful in driving up the unemployment rate.

Time to remove the dems from power before the country completely collapses.

IF you're unemployed NOW – don't blame this president. Place the blame on your former CIC. He's the one who sold your souls and your livelihood to another country NOT President Obama. After All, they have jobs over in Iraq. If you really want to earn some money – get off your lazy behinds, leave your computers and go out and join the army. You support the war right? The army will provide steady pay, benefits and guaranteed placement. All provided to you by the Bush administration. Things can only get better with our current leader because they certainly can't get any worse.

I thought the stimulus created or saved 1.5 million jobs.

Where are the jobs you promised Mr. President. Where are the jobs created? Where are the jobs "saved"? You promised that the money you spent at the time you did would create and "save" 4 million jobs. Ok so you changed it to 3.5 million jobs. Ok, so you changed it to 3 million jobs. Where are they? So, you didn't know what you were taking about or you don't know what you're doing?

He could instantly create 65,000 jobs for Americans now with congress and a stroke of a pen were he to halt H1Bs in a time of high hi-tech unemployment. The gov't by not doing so is a mockery and I am not listening to the self-serving rhetoric from our President on the matter of unemployment until he does something meaningful and immediate.

It would be so simple, but alas corporate economic advisers have his ears and he refuses to use some common sense here, which quite frankly surprises me. He is way more corporate than I had thought he would be.

So how's that stimulus workin' for ya?

I seem to remember our leadership telling us that the stimulus bill had to pass so unemployment would not climb over 8%.

Hey Mr. President, perhaps you can tell the 10% (actual number higher) of unemployed people here in this country why it was so important that you spent tax dollars running to Copenhagen, rather than staying home and working on REAL issues. Perhaps tomorrow you will tell us when/ how you will be sending the bill for this most recent trip to the Chicago Olympic Committee.

The Stimulous Bill is proving itself to be another Liberal Tax and Spend disaster! I guess Barry Hussain needs to get back on TV and campaign to everyone why this is all Bush's fault!

How can we create jobs when we're no longer a nation of manufacturers? We need these jobs back or we're doomed.

Too bad this man is so clueless that he doesn't know he needs to get small businesses and the private sector recovered............not Union Bail outs. What an empty speech, with no solutions. Cut taxes on business, not add more unemployment taxes and health care taxes..........job killer, I know, we will NOT be able to hire back the people laid off due to all the burden this administration puts on small business.

Jobless numbers always trail the rest of the economy. I didn't hear the GOP complain when president Bush finished his first term with a net loss of jobs! Where was their outrage then? Hypocrites!

If only the trillion-dollar stimulus package had been reduced by half and used as money to incentivize banks and manufacturers (or even local businesses across America). Unemployment would have been much less. The large dump into the corporate hole seems to have done nothing significant.

It is true that unemployment is a trailing indicator coming out of a recession. But I don't believe Obama knows how to create jobs outside of government jobs. And his judgment on the content of the stimulus is very questionable. It was loaded with non job creating pork for special intrest groups that got him and the Democrats elected. Whether this was just misguided or borders on corruption, it was a bad idea and has not worked. Obama rushed the bill to be passed so fast no one had a chance to read it and promised if it was passed right away, unemployment would not go beyond 8%. It is now 9.8% and expected to go higher. Was Obama just making the 8% up or was he just that wrong? Not good either way. And then now to claim that the stimulus is working beyond expectation and some crazy claim that it has created over a million jobs over he last couple of months flies in the face of reality. Obama is certain to fall drop even more in the polls if he sends Biden out again after these bad unemployment numbers and makes more wild claims about how successfull the stimulus has been.

I believe President Obama is doing everything he can to turn our country around economically. Unfortunately, it's going to take time to do that. So instead of the Republicans joining him in this endeavor all they do is criticize his every move right down to him taking a trip that could have brought thousands of jobs to this country.

Our President is a true American in every sense of the word. Let's not forget that.

  25. Ask not what big business can do for you but what can you do for big business

I you dont have a job you can still help out with the important task of increasing corporate profits. Go door to door and ask for donations then send the money to big business. The United States treasury has helped them out now its time for ordinary citizens to lend a helping hand.
