WASHINGTON (CNN)– The 'First Dude' of Alaska will no longer be working in the oil fields.
The Alaska Dispatch reports Todd Palin has quit his job with BP’s North Slope operation. The newspaper quotes BP Company spokesman Steve Rinehart as saying Palin submitted his resignation last month and officially resigned September 18.
As a production operator, Todd Palin was responsible for management of the oil gathering centers, where oil is gathered from multiple wells.
BP PLC is one of the largest energy companies in the world.
Todd Palin, the "First Dude" to former Governor Sarah Palin, shot to national fame along with his wife when she was named Republican vice presidential nominee. He also professionally races snowmobiles (known in Alaska as “snowmachines) and is a commercial fisherman.
News of his resignation comes about two months after Sarah Palin's resignation from office on July 26.

Yes, because if your spouses brought in a ton of money from book deals and speaking engagements, and if you could spend more time with them because of it, you'd all keep working at your crappy jobs...I'm so sure. Look, I'm no fan of the Palins, but do you need to throw in your obnoxious two cents on EVERY move they make? Seriously, grow up.
My personal opinion is that Sarah Palin was the worse choice possible for Vice President....too many other intelligent, articulate women are in the GOP for that to have happened. Women who would not find 'what newspapers do you read' to be a trick question.
However, that Todd Palin resigns from his job is his and his family's business. We must know where to draw the line.

This move by Mr. Palin is one or two days after it becomes known that Mrs. Palin's book will be a best seller. He may be preparing to become the First Man and live in the White House.
It's the Palin way of life! You lie, cheat, lead on the sheep til you get what you want, then just quit and write a book about it, to confirm the lies, cheating and leading on of the nation. Can't wait til the book comes out so all those who really know her can call her out on her lies. I believe Mrs. Palin just sealed her own demise. And she will only have her self to blame.

Good for him! This will give them more time as a family, since she will be traveling much more. Promoting her book (and thus her unfiltered views) and raising millions of dollars for conservative causes will keep her busy for a while. The liberal media should not criticize the Palins for getting richer–the media's vicious onlsaught of Sarah Palin ever since she walked out on that convetion stage has thrust the whole family into the limelight almost daily. If the left did not fear her so much, she would not be as known and in such demand by conservatives.

I must set aside my distate for Sarah Palin's absurd political philosophy for a moment to defend Todd Palin...For better or worse, she has become so high profile and controversial, particularly in Alaska, that it would be difficult, if not impossible, for her spouse to pursue any sort of "normal" career or job in a corporation.
Considering the number of conservative wing-nuts that will be shelling over cash to buy his wife's "autobiography", he should quit and laugh all the way to the bank. Neo-cons are such suckers.
