WASHINGTON (CNN)– The 'First Dude' of Alaska will no longer be working in the oil fields.
The Alaska Dispatch reports Todd Palin has quit his job with BP’s North Slope operation. The newspaper quotes BP Company spokesman Steve Rinehart as saying Palin submitted his resignation last month and officially resigned September 18.
As a production operator, Todd Palin was responsible for management of the oil gathering centers, where oil is gathered from multiple wells.
BP PLC is one of the largest energy companies in the world.
Todd Palin, the "First Dude" to former Governor Sarah Palin, shot to national fame along with his wife when she was named Republican vice presidential nominee. He also professionally races snowmobiles (known in Alaska as “snowmachines) and is a commercial fisherman.
News of his resignation comes about two months after Sarah Palin's resignation from office on July 26.

What a wonderful example. As the GOP again overreacts to the current unemployment situation, at least "Dude" can afford to quit his job. I'm inspired by his actions. Now I just need to find a Right-Wingnut to marry and ride her apron strings...

I still don't understand the fascination with the Palin family. Sara Palin is an uneducated person who during the McCain campaign did not even know that Africa is a continent rather than a country. She does not read too much in order to keep in touch with the current political events. Her husband is even worse.He likes racing snowmobiles and commercial fishing rather than getting involved in politics like his wife. God help us all if Sara becomes the president of our country.

Opponents of Sarah Palin oppose her because she lacks intelligence, a global perspective and simple common sense. Supporters of Sarah Palin are left to relish in the joy of why educated people oppose their leader. Is it because they lack the same things? Isn't that humorous and pathetic?

I personally do not care that Todd quit his job or not but let's get real here. Sarah is getting a 7 million dollar advance on her book (mostly written by a ghost writer) so why should he work.

Sarah will be far from a famous author PLEASE! If the book is even coherent, we can be sure that she did not write it. That woman is dumber than a box of rocks and so are those who think that she is presidental material. That is a truly scary thought!!

It seems that Sarah and Todd have each created at least one job opening. What's wrong with that? At least it's measurable unlike Obama's "job creation or retention".
The Palins proved to have the wining plan for Americans. Play the games of a special segment of society, write a book for big bucks about strange things, give speeches to the highest bidder on what ever topic the payer wants, the media will push it, this gives the possibility to live as they choose. What ever works!!
The whole idea of hard work etc takes a back seat and the country we love PAYS the cost!

Now that she is making the money that she wanted he can continue to be supported spouse. Good for him. He is a great First Dude who does nothing. Again, can he talk.
