WASHINGTON (CNN) - Rudy Giuliani will support former eBay CEO Meg Whitman's California gubernatorial bid, her campaign announced Wednesday.
Giuliani, a former Republican presidential candidate who is mulling his own run for governor in New York, called Whitman "simply the best person to lead our country's largest state."
"Meg's disciplined focus on creating jobs, cutting wasteful spending and improving education is the right course for California," Giuliani said in a statement. "I also believe that Meg Whitman can help reenergize the grassroots of the Republican Party."
The current California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is term-limited. Whitman will face State Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner and former Rep. Tom Campbell in the 2010 Republican primary.

I thought Arnold the Governator was the answer to all California problems. The Repubs even bandied about the notion that the Constitution should be changed to allow him to run for President. My my my. Now comes 911 Rudy to endorse some one else.
So what is the news? You have a washed up old Repub political hack endorsing another Repub political hack – one that doesn't bother to vote.
Well, I don't care who endorses Meg Whitman. She has no interest in voting and I have no interest in doing the same on her behalf.
Meg – well, don't know her so cannot say much about her. Also, I am sure she is BRIGHTER than Palin and most likely could get CA straight.
BUT – GooGooliani needs to be quiet and read up on the sizes of STATES!!! Hmm, maybe he meant POPULATION??? That is what he will say tomorrow because the REPUBLI-CAN'Ts think they are always right. On a second note, his endorsement means nothing!! He endorsed McCain too and made a big FOOL out of himself at the RNC and look at what happened???? WHOOP there he is – President Barack Obama!!!

As a Californian, I am offended that Rudy G thinks he knows what is best for our state? His credibility is lacking no matter what or whom he endorses. Meg Whitman would do better to separate herself from any alliance with Rudy. However, I am not interested in Whitman becoming our governor.

As a former NYC resident who lived under Rudy during the Giuliani Reich, I think Rudy would be better off worrying about how he will concede the NY gubernatorial race if he enters it. Today, as a resident of California, I see that the more Rudy speaks the less people listen. However, I'd give the last word to Rudy's 1st, no 2nd wife- Ms. Donna Hanover. The fact that he has a third wife just speaks to his poor decision making skills and his inability to negotiate. Let the Meg Whitman buyer beware.
