Meg Whitman has been endorsed by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani in her bid to become California's next governor.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Rudy Giuliani will support former eBay CEO Meg Whitman's California gubernatorial bid, her campaign announced Wednesday.

Giuliani, a former Republican presidential candidate who is mulling his own run for governor in New York, called Whitman "simply the best person to lead our country's largest state."

"Meg's disciplined focus on creating jobs, cutting wasteful spending and improving education is the right course for California," Giuliani said in a statement. "I also believe that Meg Whitman can help reenergize the grassroots of the Republican Party."

The current California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is term-limited. Whitman will face State Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner and former Rep. Tom Campbell in the 2010 Republican primary.

Wow- an endorsement from "rotten rudy" from New York , that will surly influence people in California.

Frozone   October 7th, 2009 9:59 pm ET

One loser endorsing another.

Totally sickened by Republicans in North Carolina   October 7th, 2009 9:41 pm ET

Wow.....the pot endorses the kettle – what a nightmare! These two should be run out of their respective towns.

socalbob   October 7th, 2009 9:28 pm ET

wouldn't want his backing.

Desmond   October 7th, 2009 9:24 pm ET

Whitman obviously likes an albatross around her neck!

Russ   October 7th, 2009 8:33 pm ET

Boy talk about the blind leading the blind!!!!

Operation Replacement   October 7th, 2009 7:37 pm ET

Here's hoping Meg does as well here in California as Rudi did
in the 2008 GOP primary. One loser deserves another.

cgillette369   October 7th, 2009 7:31 pm ET

who's Guiliani?

Aaron   October 7th, 2009 7:07 pm ET

I love how CNN.com comment sections has turned into a circle jerk for liberals everywhere. Just like FOX news for conservatives.

rasabu   October 7th, 2009 7:04 pm ET

As a former NYC resident who lived under Rudy during the Giuliani Reich, I think Rudy would be better off worrying about how he will concede the NY gubernatorial race if he enters it. Today, as a resident of California, I see that the more Rudy speaks the less people listen. However, I'd give the last word to Rudy's 1st, no 2nd wife- Ms. Donna Hanover. The fact that he has a third wife just speaks to his poor decision making skills and his inability to negotiate. Let the Meg Whitman buyer beware.

Ben   October 7th, 2009 7:04 pm ET

Rudy who???? We all know what his endorsement and speech meant to McCain. The guy is a phony and at this point could not get elected Dog Catcher in NYC.

Anne E.   October 7th, 2009 6:30 pm ET

One loser backing another. Priceless.

edwin kihika   October 7th, 2009 6:29 pm ET

How much weight does a rudolph guiliani endorsement havve in california? My guess is next to none. Guiliani likes running around acting like a former president, all he's ever being is mayor of new york. He seems to suffer from delusions of grandeur.

VIv   October 7th, 2009 6:28 pm ET

bad omen right there!!!!

Peter (CA)   October 7th, 2009 6:27 pm ET

Whatever. A hack politician endorsing a hack wanna be politician.

She has already insulted a number of Californians over her right wing rhetoric. She won't even win the primary.

JAMEY   October 7th, 2009 6:25 pm ET

Who cares what Rudy Guiliani likes? He is insignificant.

Emma   October 7th, 2009 6:23 pm ET

As a Californian, I am offended that Rudy G thinks he knows what is best for our state? His credibility is lacking no matter what or whom he endorses. Meg Whitman would do better to separate herself from any alliance with Rudy. However, I am not interested in Whitman becoming our governor.

Felly   October 7th, 2009 6:21 pm ET

Wait a minute! This woman does not vote, and now she wants our votes?

T'SAH from Virginia   October 7th, 2009 6:19 pm ET

Meg – well, don't know her so cannot say much about her. Also, I am sure she is BRIGHTER than Palin and most likely could get CA straight.

BUT – GooGooliani needs to be quiet and read up on the sizes of STATES!!! Hmm, maybe he meant POPULATION??? That is what he will say tomorrow because the REPUBLI-CAN'Ts think they are always right. On a second note, his endorsement means nothing!! He endorsed McCain too and made a big FOOL out of himself at the RNC and look at what happened???? WHOOP there he is – President Barack Obama!!!

Deuce   October 7th, 2009 6:19 pm ET

"Unburden yourself". Says jack Cafferty, who is still carrying the Cross for Obama. ...

Alfred E. Neumann   October 7th, 2009 6:17 pm ET

Well, I don't care who endorses Meg Whitman. She has no interest in voting and I have no interest in doing the same on her behalf.

Ted Tartaglia   October 7th, 2009 6:16 pm ET

So what is the news? You have a washed up old Repub political hack endorsing another Repub political hack – one that doesn't bother to vote.

Rick in AZ   October 7th, 2009 6:16 pm ET

I thought Arnold the Governator was the answer to all California problems. The Repubs even bandied about the notion that the Constitution should be changed to allow him to run for President. My my my. Now comes 911 Rudy to endorse some one else.

steve   October 7th, 2009 5:59 pm ET

I wish her the best! Good Luck! California needs help.

JayG   October 7th, 2009 5:58 pm ET

Um I bet all of you people on here werent validating that Alaska was the biggest state in the country when you were making your jokes about Palin were you??? Because then she would have some intelligence. Right?

Joe Black   October 7th, 2009 5:56 pm ET

That lady ahs a face for radio, or hidden behind a computer, but not in national politics. Besides, only a racist inbred would give two hoots what Dick Nixon...err...I mean, Rudy Giuliani has to say. He's a smug, unhappy little man.

marc   October 7th, 2009 5:52 pm ET

Mr. Guilliani FYI Alaska is actually the biggest state

Coherent1   October 7th, 2009 5:52 pm ET

The ultimate kiss of death.

Jay   October 7th, 2009 5:51 pm ET

Mr 9-11 9-11?? Why is Mr No nothing not doing anything for the firefighters and rescue workers who can't get healtcare from working at the site of the WTC?? Why are you not fighting for them Rudy???

makkw   October 7th, 2009 5:49 pm ET

Uh........

"simply the best person to lead our country's largest state."

Where was Rudi educated?...."sarah Palin U"

Amy from MN   October 7th, 2009 5:47 pm ET

Big deal! He's not a CA voter so it doesn't really matter.

malcolm75   October 7th, 2009 5:47 pm ET

who's that?

Steve   October 7th, 2009 5:44 pm ET

Who cares? Rudolph Giuliani's time has passed. His policies and ideas are antiquated in the 21st century and his endorsement should be meaningless in California. If Ms. Whitman agrees with him on how to run government it means she would be wrong for the nation's most populous state.

Susan   October 7th, 2009 5:44 pm ET

Who the heck cares what Rudy thinks?

Dennis C   October 7th, 2009 5:44 pm ET

I hope Ruby runs for public office in 2010. I want him to answer the following question: On 9/11 you had been the mayor of NYC for 7 years and 9 months, why was it that the NYC fire and police departments had radios that were incompatible? On 9/11, brave men and women died because the NYC police and fire departments could not communicate with one another at ground zero. This was a disgrace.

Meg's Ebay was worthless when someone ripped me off for a Palm Device years ago. Now she wants to run California !

zago   October 7th, 2009 5:40 pm ET

Ruddy Juliani? The one who did not have a single delegate in the republican primaries? The one who used taxpayer money for his girlfriend Judith? Who really cares? CNN stop dignify the microscopic repugs please. I will buy you a mocca if you cover real news

Luke Brown   October 7th, 2009 5:40 pm ET

Oh boy, the train is really leaving the station with Rudy on board... NOT

PAUL   October 7th, 2009 5:39 pm ET

Callifornia does not need this typical Republican Carpetbagging plain Jane pig leading our state. She instead should lead in one of theose Southern States where her backwards ideas are clearly understood. She is a failure and we need someone Like Steve Poisner of Jerry Brown to lead our state.

rednekhank   October 7th, 2009 5:39 pm ET

What's the matter, CNN? Sarah Palin not doing anything today? Had to fall back to Rudy "noun-verb-9/11" Giuliani?

Roger   October 7th, 2009 5:39 pm ET

WOW!!!! An endorsement from last place Rudy that ought to seal a double digit loss for Whitman. When are people going to realize Rudy is a loser. His claim to fame? He was mayor of a city that got attacked. Thats it.

Michael M, Phoenix AZ   October 7th, 2009 5:37 pm ET

Well population wise, including illegals, it's the largest. Still 3rd in land sized behind Alaska and Texas last I heard unless Calif annexed Mexico without telling anyone....Oh, wait, maybe Calif is the largest...didn't both Palin and the current Gov of Tex want to secede from the Union?

Pundit   October 7th, 2009 5:33 pm ET

How does CNN even see this as news?

Rudy Giuliani is meaningless.

Jim in Ozark, MO   October 7th, 2009 5:32 pm ET

Rudy thinks she's the best person to lead our "biggest state? Alaska? 'Cause it's the biggest: not California. Oh, yeah, he's the one who can't run his own campaign and from the East Coast.

sparky   October 7th, 2009 5:32 pm ET

Getting an endorsement from Rudy 9/11 is like getting a bad case of hemmroids. You pray it goes away.... SOON...

C.T.   October 7th, 2009 5:31 pm ET

A crook is a crook, is a crook rudy. RJ if you would go into a welfare office as you seem to indicate mostly minorities are there, count on the little ole fingers and you will find 75% of the receipents are white. Not prejudiced just facts.

George B. from Ohio   October 7th, 2009 5:31 pm ET

What did Meg ever do to you to deserve this Rudy?

FloridaFranny *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*   October 7th, 2009 5:30 pm ET

And, did I miss something somewhere..... since when did California become "our country's largest state"??
I could have sworn that when I was in school we were taught that Alaska and Texas were both larger than California.
Maybe Rudy's been sniffing that Republican paint thinner again....

Bob Dog   October 7th, 2009 5:29 pm ET

Ms. Whitman would make an excellent outside linebacker for a good NFL team. She has the bulk, the speed, and the ability to deliver a punishing blow. If she adds a few pounds, perhaps they could move her to the interior line, perhaps defensive tackle.

shs   October 7th, 2009 5:26 pm ET

Kiss of Death.

Guilty Bystander   October 7th, 2009 5:26 pm ET

Well, that's the kiss of death – an endorsement from Ru911dy Giu911liani.

This is too funny............

kay   October 7th, 2009 5:26 pm ET

So......who, actually, in California cares WHAT Rudy Giuliani thinks..?

God n' Country   October 7th, 2009 5:25 pm ET

Say what you will about the Mayor. He will energize the republican party in California and unify them behind Whitman, making it easier for Brown or Newsom to win.

Norm   October 7th, 2009 5:20 pm ET

Rudi just endorsed Meg Whitman who registered to vote for the 1st time in 2002. That is 25 years of not voting. It is my simple belief that we should not vote for Meg for the next 25 years.

Mark   October 7th, 2009 5:20 pm ET

Like I care what a New Yorker has to say about my governor, especially one with such low morals. His kids did not even support his presidential campaign.

Nathan,   October 7th, 2009 5:19 pm ET

Who Cares.

FloridaFranny *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*   October 7th, 2009 5:18 pm ET

Why does anyone even care what Rudy has to say anymore? Just keeping hanging onto the words of all the old has beens who got us in the mess we're in to begin with– yep, that's the ticket, doncha know???
And just why is ol' Meg the "former CEO" at eBay? Couldn't keep that job, so now she's ready to take on running the state of CA, okay, sure, I can see the logic there.... NOT.

NVa Native   October 7th, 2009 5:14 pm ET

So who cares what Rudy thinks or which repub he pics?
Rudy is a repub spin-jockey who wouldn't pic a moderate anything.
Rudy / Palin 2012!
WHO CARES??

Solomon   October 7th, 2009 5:12 pm ET

Oi vey! No "E-Bay".

Stephen   October 7th, 2009 5:12 pm ET

Uh, Rudy, last time I checked Alaska was the largest state in the Country, and then there's Texas. Meg should say thanks but no thanks.

steve   October 7th, 2009 5:11 pm ET

What would voters in CA care what a ex-mayor from NY would say about a Republican businesswoman who has never run for office at any level? Its like McCain saying Sara Palin was the best Governor in the US and deserving to be one heart beat away from being president.

evman   October 7th, 2009 5:11 pm ET

Whitman doesn't even vote, yet she's hyopcritical enough to ask YOU to vote for her. This doesn't bode well for figuring out her morals and ethics. Bad way to start.

beevee   October 7th, 2009 5:10 pm ET

who wants this loser's endorsement.

Richard L   October 7th, 2009 5:08 pm ET

What good is the endorsement of a guy who may well have run the worst campaign in U.S. history?

Obama Winners   October 7th, 2009 5:08 pm ET

Digging to the bottom of the barrel with the GOP now – Oh wait, GOP is at the bottom of the barrel!

Disgusted Californian   October 7th, 2009 5:08 pm ET

Maybe they'll put our state on Ebay! Might even cover the debt if the reserve is met.

seebofubar   October 7th, 2009 5:08 pm ET

Amazing! We all know that the political pendulum swings left and right but I never saw it swing right so fast. You dems can thank your egotistical worthless president for that.

H in CA   October 7th, 2009 5:07 pm ET

Whitman creates job by outsourcing them. Also, she repeats the same thing over and over again: I'll lay off 40000 state employees. That's the only thing she has been pushing without any new ideas. She won't get my vote.

RRRUSA   October 7th, 2009 5:06 pm ET

Why is this news? Was he going to endorse the DEMOCRAT?

Meg Whitman joined EBay when it had 30 employees. Maybe she should try and be the governor of a small state with perhaps half a million people...er....Alaska?

Oh by the way.....she is against same sex marriage and the 'green' approach to stopping global warming...so is she a Bob McDonnell in disguise, and what kind of mechanism to stop global warming DOES she support....or perhaps she does not believe in global warming or thinks Exxon can stop it.....or we can sell it on EBay!

cjr   October 7th, 2009 5:06 pm ET

did he mention 9-11 in his endorsement?

Left Coast Mike, Laguna Niguel, CA   October 7th, 2009 5:06 pm ET

Oh yeah, just what we Californians have been waiting for ... an endorsement of a candidate who does not vote by a guy from New York City of all places.

Stick a fork in her now, along with the spoon in mouth.

vicky from Milwaukee   October 7th, 2009 5:06 pm ET

And this is a big announcement why?

Lydia   October 7th, 2009 5:05 pm ET

Yawn. Who really cares?

Joan   October 7th, 2009 5:04 pm ET

Guiliani did such a great job in his own presidential bid last year so she must be pleased to have someone with such excellent political knowhow to help her.

Otto   October 7th, 2009 5:03 pm ET

Thanks Rudy for giving her "The Kiss of death" your endorsement certainly makes her a loosing candidate.

Mickey, NY   October 7th, 2009 5:03 pm ET

Ahhh, the Giuliani kiss of DEATH!

BKrause   October 7th, 2009 5:01 pm ET

At least Rudy has managed to vote. Whitman lost me when it turned out she doesn't care much about the political process unless she can generate immediate personal gain from her role. Minimally, I want someone in office who has always cared enough about the government of which he or she is a part, to play a normal role.

Felonious Monk   October 7th, 2009 5:01 pm ET

a noun, a verb, and 9/11.

need i say more?

jeannettelj   October 7th, 2009 5:00 pm ET

Why do you think that we care who Giullani wants for the next governor of California? If I were Whitman, I would stay as far away from him as I could.

Kate in San Diego   October 7th, 2009 5:00 pm ET

I am still bothered by her failure to vote for many years and do not understand why the republicans do not think it is important.

RJ   October 7th, 2009 5:00 pm ET

Dear Democrates, without the white vote that put Obama over the top you can not win.....love it! Believe me white middle America has seen nothing but free giveaways to people who dont deserve it let alone have worked for it!

Pat   October 7th, 2009 4:59 pm ET

I think Rooty is kissing up to Megsy so he can apply for a maid position with her. How can anyone – even Rooty Kazootie – endorse a non-voter in the USA? What kind of patriot is she? I wouldn't want the likes of her running my state.

SC-Dem   October 7th, 2009 4:58 pm ET

Giuliani's endorsement should be worth at last one vote.... That is about what he brought himself!

Burly from Los Angeles   October 7th, 2009 4:57 pm ET

Wow, all the poison vipers are out today! What did she ever do to any of you? Are you even from CA? Do you know what's going here? Do you know about our legislature? Do you know about our various union lobbies? Do you know anything about the CA State Senate? Do you know about our taxes? Our local politicians? Well I do! I like her!

RJ   October 7th, 2009 4:56 pm ET

Rudi keeps showing the American public his ignorance! How this man ever got to where he is is beyond me! Californias problems are not unique, many states are facing the same problems! What they really need to get back on track is a strick conservative when it comes to financial matters like budget, spending! Then they need to start sending Mexicos the bill for all the health care that is given here to illegal aliens! Stop shipping jobs overseas because eventually it comes back to hurt the guy who sent them in the first place!

Thomas   October 7th, 2009 4:55 pm ET

Please !
Now they " RNC" can auction off what's left of our state .

Rudy who ?

William in San Jose   October 7th, 2009 4:55 pm ET

Does this mean that Rudy also endorses Senator Boxer, like Meg did?

Chtei   October 7th, 2009 4:54 pm ET

Any republican that is running is sure to be a disaster, with their ridiculous ideas for fiscal policy, whether it's Arnie or Whitman.

lasvegasrose   October 7th, 2009 4:54 pm ET

Since I lived in CA for 30 years, I can tell you that having ole Rudy endorse you is a death blow. (pardon the expression) lol

Party Purity will never bring Political Power!   October 7th, 2009 4:54 pm ET

And yet your Ticker heading would imply that the Giuliani's endorsement is a positive for Whitman.

Oh yeah, he brings that winning primary bid in '08 to the table...

We need Rudy Giuliani to run for NY.

Never Repub again   October 7th, 2009 4:54 pm ET

If bone head Rudy endorses her then I am voting straight Democrat ticket all the way. Repubs have almost ruined the country and they try to blame it on Obama.

Tom in CA   October 7th, 2009 4:53 pm ET

Rudy, get out of CA, we don't need your opinion. In fact, thanks for helping us see who we don't want!

Bravo!! If Giuliani supported Whitman she just lost the nomination

Peter Stokinger   October 7th, 2009 4:53 pm ET

If Mr Guiliani knew his geography a little better, he would know that Texas is not the nations largest state. Alaska is the larger by 387,824 square miles. Texas is only 268, 601 sq miles compared with Alaska being 656,425 sq miles.

Jim   October 7th, 2009 4:47 pm ET

Ms. Whitman lost all credibility with me when we learned she has hardly ever voted in her life, even by absentee ballot. She has never shown interest in political affairs until recently. She might be a shrewd businessperson, but she has no clue on how to govern my state of California.

therealmarie   October 7th, 2009 4:47 pm ET

Noun, verb and 911. Who cares what this exploitive man thinks or who he endorses.

Runofthemill   October 7th, 2009 4:45 pm ET

rudy who? Is he the guy who put the disaster reposnse center in the worlds biggest terrorist target? That genius? Or the one who decided to sit out the first 7 or 8 primaries, figuring he didn't need them? That genius...or the one who preaches family values so much that he had to have multiple families to practice those values with, is it that genius? Is he endorsing her because she has so much political experience? We all know that he thinks experiecne is key – even if if it is being on the PTL, running a tiny town, and holding a real elected office for a few months...then quitting.

What a boffo endorsment. She'll have it all sewed up now.

Steve (the real one)   October 7th, 2009 4:35 pm ET

I am astounded how liberals in Cali, who helped recall Gov Gray Davis (a democrat) now blame the republicans for the mess they are in. You had a democratic legislature and Governor all at the same time. Exactly how well did that work? Since you had to recall Davis, I 'm thinking not too well. Maybe it's your lliberal legislature for this reason: you changed governors. The only constant was/is...the overwhelmingly liberal legislature! Do the math, people!!

tom   October 7th, 2009 4:34 pm ET

She will regret running. Can't wait to tear her up!

Tony   October 7th, 2009 4:25 pm ET

A self-made millionaire with executive experience running a state? That's WAY too logical for California. They'll probably elect another actor who will screw over the state yet again, all the while handing out free money to low-income citizens (and illegal immigrants) and handing out IOU to taxpaying middle-income and high-income citizens. What a sustainable model of government!

If I were a Californian - and you'd have to pay me money to move to that state - I'd rather Whitman run for the senate against Barbara Boxer. Boxer, who's nothing but a stupid, hateful shrew, is only facing Carly Fiorina and her biggest accomplishment is running HP into the ground. Boxer wouldn't stand a chance again Whitman, but the jury's still out on who'd win in a Boxer/Fiorina race.

ATL Guy   October 7th, 2009 4:24 pm ET

I wonder how much she paid him to do this? She's never voted in her life and yet expects to be governor?

tim nyc   October 7th, 2009 4:20 pm ET

rudy is a complete fraud...ask any fireman in nyc....no one has used 9/11 to his personal advantage like him...he's reaped millions from the disaster that horrible day ( and yes, i was there)...it's simply a travesty.

Michael Falzone   October 7th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

Thank you Rudy for confirming that Whitman is the wrong person for the job.

John jr   October 7th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

Wow so is she the same character mold as good ole scoobey rudy? oh most likely the same old moraless trash! go jerks go!

JR   October 7th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

Yeah, she's so concerned about political things that she didn't even register to vote for over ten years, kind of leaves me guessing she just want the job title and not the job.

Wilbury   October 7th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

Rudy who?

Republicanssuckbigtime   October 7th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

One loser supporting another loser. And this is news?

Susan   October 7th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

ok. thats over.
Guiliani endorsed that means she will definitely loose, if she does not quit before elections.

Jon   October 7th, 2009 4:17 pm ET

This is an obvious victory for the Poizner and Campbell camps. Kudos.

Deuce   October 7th, 2009 4:17 pm ET

The so called Letterman Scandle. You wait until theCNN Gloria Borgia, Obama Scandle..

victim of republican greed   October 7th, 2009 4:17 pm ET

Rudy also felt Palin could be vice president.

Ed, Santa Fe, NM   October 7th, 2009 4:16 pm ET

Giuliani lives in California? Giuliani is an elected official?

WHO CARES who old Skull Face supports?

AntiRush   October 7th, 2009 4:15 pm ET

The only time an endorsement is news is when a Republican backs a Democrat, or a Democrat backs a Republican.

ReilleyFam   October 7th, 2009 4:14 pm ET

It won't matter who endorses her at this point, she's a loser. She has the worst PR, won't debate or even be interviewed, did not vote until 2002 and was not even a Republican until 2 years ago. Her campaign is so bad the voters have already turned off to her. She is also unqualified; she got rich on short term stock increases during the dotcom bubble and has never "done" anything in her life – much less any govt experience. CA has a long history of celbrities and business execs trying to win office and none – other than Arnold in the fluke recall election – has ever won. She won't even win the primary.

cnn=right wing media and works for sarah "death pannel" palin   October 7th, 2009 4:14 pm ET

who is that clown? rudy what? Can't even win a nomination against Mc cain

Doug   October 7th, 2009 4:13 pm ET

"Giuliani, a former Republican presidential candidate who is mulling his own run for governor in New York, called Whitman "simply the best person to lead our country's largest state."

California is our country's largest state? Was "no child left behind" in place when Rudy went to school?

Tree   October 7th, 2009 4:13 pm ET

And this endorsement is supposed to help her campaign?? That's laughable! Guiliani was a horrible mayor who used 9/11 to try and win the presidency. He is as corrupt as they come and did nothing to better NY. CA, if he's endorsing her, stear far far away! lol!

kellygreen   October 7th, 2009 4:12 pm ET

Sorry Meg

JB   October 7th, 2009 4:11 pm ET

Not that Meg needed any more nails in her coffin, but being endorsed by Mr. 9-11 can't possibly be a good thing for her.

Wake Up   October 7th, 2009 4:11 pm ET

Whitman will be a breath of fresh air. Someone with common sense. lower taxes now.

bc   October 7th, 2009 4:10 pm ET

It's all about politics and not the PEOPLE! If she is the best they can do, heaven help California.

pkb   October 7th, 2009 4:10 pm ET

So who cares but CNN? They deserve each other and CNN.

Tim, Seattle   October 7th, 2009 4:10 pm ET

So a cross dressing failed ex-governor who was a complete failure as a presidential candidate and husband wants to support a manly looking gubernatorial corporate pig, how interesting...
I guess Sarah was too pretty for him..lol

Did i mention 9/11? Oh...and blah blah 9/11...blah blah...9/11

Rudy Gulianni, a man whose 15 minutes were up years ago (9/11)

Rudy Fooliani   October 7th, 2009 4:08 pm ET

Now she's definitely toast. Expect a withdrawal announcement any time.

victim of republican greed   October 7th, 2009 4:08 pm ET

Rudy (9-11) is (9-11) still (9-11) clueless (9-11). But, Meg can run on a platform of never voting for anything that was harmful to Californians, or good for Californians either. By not participating in democracy, she is the perfect republican with no record to defend.

las   October 7th, 2009 4:08 pm ET

boo this woman

Chandler   October 7th, 2009 4:07 pm ET

I don't think Californians care what Gulliani thinks.

republicans hate america   October 7th, 2009 4:07 pm ET

give me a break

chris s.   October 7th, 2009 4:07 pm ET

Do they really think California will let another republican run our most important state into the ground again???

Open Your 3rd Eye   October 7th, 2009 4:07 pm ET

Dear Republicans:

You can not win 2010 without the youth vote and minority vote.

Bye Now!

Have A Nice Day! :)

Jeannie Niles   October 7th, 2009 4:07 pm ET

I don't think Rudy Giuliani is qualified to ascertain what California needs.

CR   October 7th, 2009 4:06 pm ET

What else is new?

Alex   October 7th, 2009 4:05 pm ET

But she doesn't have anything to do with 9/11!

mary   October 7th, 2009 4:03 pm ET

Most important is "Jobs first" - when people are working and paying income taxes, everything else will fall into place - when we have to feed everyone, and few people are working, it does not work so well.

greg   October 7th, 2009 4:02 pm ET

there goes the campain down the drain.......

Derrick   October 7th, 2009 4:02 pm ET

She won't win.

Doug, New Jersey   October 7th, 2009 4:01 pm ET

I feel for Rudi. I wonder if on September 11th 2001, you would have told him that 8 years later, every Democrat in America would believe that he is more evil than the guy who took down the twin towers, Osama Bin Laden. Every Democrat in America if had to choose between the two, would want to lock up or kill Giuliani rather than Bin Laden.

If you ever wanted to know why poltical discourse is where it is today, and why there is never any working together, or repsect for different views, then study the reality of the Democrats in America today. What I have stated is the sad truth, I mean knowing they feel this way about Republicans, their own fellow Americans, how can you expect to work with them or even trust their motives?

Jake   October 7th, 2009 4:01 pm ET

and Guiliani has relevance in California politics why?

patNY   October 7th, 2009 4:01 pm ET

Ah...a Rudy Tooty Guiliani endorsement....aka The Kiss of Death!

No Incumbents 2010   October 7th, 2009 3:59 pm ET

Guiliani's endorsement is the kiss of death for any politician.

Frank, Las Vegas   October 7th, 2009 3:59 pm ET

Whitman didn't have a chance before, now she has the Giuliani curse! Hearing Whitman talk is like hearing Palin talk, no knowledge ad no common sense. Then again, common sense isn't so common.

Moderate Democrat   October 7th, 2009 3:58 pm ET

Anything but a republican. We've already seen what Republicans do to a state (ca), and a country (usa). Out with them all, they are genetically retarded.

katiec   October 7th, 2009 3:58 pm ET

All I can say, is, birds of a feather.

Deuce   October 7th, 2009 3:57 pm ET

You wait until the Obama Tapes are released. You will all fall at the same time..
