Cheney daughter to open political consulting firm

(CNN) - Mary Cheney, the younger daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney, is starting her own political consulting firm, a Cheney spokesperson confirms to CNN

The new firm will focus on "strategic consulting," said Lucy Tutwiler, a spokeswoman for the former vice president.

No word on whether Cheney's famous father, or her increasingly vocal older sister, Liz, will play a role in the firm.

When do you cash in on a famous (infamous) name, while it is still famous (infamous). If she waited five years, she'd have no clients.

I think Dick Cheney did a wonderful Job. Everyone is now seeing what a Joke Barry O is and how he is making the US the laughing stock of the World. No one Respects Obama. The World did not like Cheney....but he got respect because he did what he said.

As time goes on, Republicans will find it harder and harder to push their agenda as demographically and intellectually the country is changing, evolving and beginning to distance itself from the false belief that Rich Old White Conservative Republicans actually care about ordinary citizens.

Enter in the new generation that doesn't look like the old, at least not too much....Mary Dick Cheney II

The GOP will not evolve with Palin as the leader...but Palin has her purpose...she's too stupid to understand it though. In time, the GOP will express to Palin that she has served hers, and she is no longer of use to them.

Just what we need another political consulting firm. Not.

What we need is our elected officials to do their job of doing for the people not special interest groups with the biggest pay out to them.

Or get us a viable 3rd party.

I'm impressed with the quality of comments from Demon-crats. Not that I like Repugnant-cans either. Everyone needs to stop drinking the Kool-Aid of party politics, stop the personal attacks and get something done about our country. The two party system has failed us folks! Wake up and demand better service from our employees.

More lies on the horizon. Lies, scare tactics, we've seen this before and with her in the mix, we'll see it a lot more. The only bright side is that the American people have caught on to their lies, well most of the American people.

I'm glad this issue is leading the "Ticker". I wouldn't want CNN to have to deal with anything about Afghanistan, Healthcare reform, Iran or any of those other minor issues.

Who gives a crap what Cheney's daughter does? The only reason this makes the Ticker is to offer up another chance for the liberals to beat on Bush-Cheney again. Get over it CNN!

This is good for a chuckle. This woman, a lesbian, aligns herself with a party that sees her as a 2nd calls citizen. Her father has said he is for gay marriage but served with an administration that continued to denigrate gays and lesbians. Both of them regard their right wing politics as more important than their intergrity and the recognition that all of us deserve the same rights and responsibilities.

With all the vitriol against someone who has remained relatively quiet & obscure (remember the "where is Mary'"campaign by gay right activists some years ago) and has not even started her business, It appearts Timers readers would like to install a gag on any one they perceive as a threat, or just don\'t like. What happened to the supposedly open minded, edeucated readers who profess support for freedom of speech? Or is it simply, her father is "the enemy" so therefore, she must he stifled? If she was a strong politcal proponent of gay rights, would Times readers still consider her a scourge on mankind?
