DNC says Republican critics aligning with terrorists

(CNN) - A Democratic National Committee spokesman said Friday the GOP has "thrown in its lot with the terrorists" in criticizing the president's Nobel Peace Prize award.

“The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists – the Taliban and Hamas this morning – in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize," DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse said in a statement.

"Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the President of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace prize – an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride – unless of course you are the Republican Party," the statement also said. "The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore – it's an embarrassing label to claim.”

I have to agree. I'm starting to believe that Republicans would gleefully watch the destruction of the country if it would make the president look bad at the same time. I wish that was hyperbole, but I fear it isn't.

What a shock – Democrats challenging someone's patriotism for daring to criticize the Obamessiah.

Nice picture of the Norwegian Obama butt-kisser, CNN.

Democrats are a joke of a party – and the Nobel award is an even bigger joke.

Republicans need to turn-off the talk radio and learn how to read. Get an education and quit being indoctrinated by Limbaugh, Beck and Fux News.

Although not a Republican, I must agree that deeds speak louder than words and since the nomination came only after the President was installed in office, I too question the veracity of the award. I concede that he is a great speaker and motivator; however he has yet to even unite his own party so how can a determination be made on his ability to produce peace, especially in light of current world events (Iran, N. Korea, etc.). Not a fan of the President but congratulate him on his selection for the award.

Yes – the DNC is absolutely correct!
After the Republican Party cheered the loss of potentially over 300,000 jobs that the Olympics would have brought to out country, I was STUNNED! Did they look into the faces of those people who hoped to be put to work if the Olympics had come to America?

The Republican Party IS the American Taliban. They do not love this country – they love their ideology, and if America loses they cheer. If America wins they frown, criticize and shake their fists.

Wake up America – the Republican Party is NOT the flag-loving, God-loving Party that they would have you think they are... They are TERRORISTS!

  7. Let's see

Waiting to see how many will respond with the trite comment about how there's nothing wrong with criticizing their leaders...these will be the same people who dubbed others as unpatriotic for critizing Bush.

I just wonder, are we simply a hypocritical society; or has ADD gotten THIS bad?

As a Republican who has proudly worn the uniform of his country and served this Great Nation as have all generations of my family back to our arrival in 1890 from Ireland, I say this remark referring to Republicans as terrorists is shameful, disgusting and beyond contempt! Shame, shame on you DNC! How low can civil discourse in this country get? Not much lower than this!

I am an anti-war pro-liberty conservative and I think this is a disgrace. Obama has done nothing to further the cause of peace. What would you expect from the group that gave a Peace Prize to FDR? The Social Labour Party, Thorbjorn Jagland's bread and butter, used to be allied with the Communist International party. Be peaceful because I command you to be! This is almost as absurd as Paul Krugman winning the prize for economics. Communists make me sick.

Oh, please! Here is the Liberal point of view: if you disagree with them, you are a Bigot, Hate Monger, Extremist, one who incites fear, and now a Terrorist. There is no middle ground with them.

Seriously, Obama has been in office for 10 months; what has he done to inspire peace? He hasn't been in office long enough.

Finally!!! Somebody is telling it like it is!! The Republican Party rejoices in the fleecing of the American people, but protests with criminal glee each time this administration gets recognized for its patriotic efforts whether overseas or here at home. Lets impeach and imprison anyone who has the nerve to call themselves a Republican!

I wonder if the DNC considers Germans, Cheks, Poles, Israelis, or other world citizens who think the award was misdirected as "terrorists" too? Sorry, DNC, but they can't be Republicans.

The GOP is a group of terrorists; they pander to their greedy, violent, anti-intellectual mob, rile people up in the name of fake threats and hyper vigilance, which boils down to a bunch of racism and hegemony. They push disinformation and rumors to prevent any meaningful legislation to help people and not businesses they pay for their votes. And the best part is, every time another GOP member acts out in a childish, selfish manner, everyone in the party acts like they're a hero, a modern day 'rebel', fighting the 'power' of those that also just happens to back cutting all social programs for people who need help, supporting businesses that employ poor labor standards and sub-par wages.

It time to run these sad, old, desperate, overfed, corrupt lying laissez-faire mobsters out of the Capitol and into the gutter on K Street, where they belong.

    True. Unfortunate, but true.

Never in a thousand years would I have expected to see the rejoicing that took place when America lost its bid to host the Olympic games to Rio. I was simply astonished.

I am feeling the same way once again.

If you are an American why wouldn't you be proud that your President was selected for this prestigious award?

If not, only one word comes to mind...unAmerican.

So I guess expressing your opinion about something aligns you with killers now...

I am confused though, what did Obama do in his first two weeks that would merit winning the Peace Prize?

Well stated. Why does the GOP hate America? We have soldiers out their risking their lives every day for our freedom and the republicans root against our nation and our President.

Brad Woodhouse is a hero. Call 'em what they are, the "American Taliban" for trying to bring this President down with non-stop harassment for his race, his place of birth, his wife, and every other baloney reason. They don't care what it takes to bring him down, even if it means trashing him in the eyes of the world, diminishing the office and demeaning this country. The New Whig Party should be tried for treason.

All for No, and No for All seems to be the mantra of the discredited and increasingly irrelevant GOP. They never fail to put their party ahead of their country. This country needs a credible 2 party system for the inherent checks and balances that should serve as a counter balance to ensure our staying on the right path, but the GOP appeals to the worst human qualities – fear, ignorance and stupidity. They seem to enjoy wearing their antiAmericanism as a badge of honor. They disgust me, and, it seems, more and more Americans.

    Hamas has praised the choice.

It's too bad that the Republicans are so wiling to put politics ahead of national pride.

What ever happened to country first?
