(CNN) - A Democratic National Committee spokesman said Friday the GOP has "thrown in its lot with the terrorists" in criticizing the president's Nobel Peace Prize award.

“The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists – the Taliban and Hamas this morning – in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize," DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse said in a statement.

"Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the President of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace prize – an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride – unless of course you are the Republican Party," the statement also said. "The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore – it's an embarrassing label to claim.”

The president is "humbled"? He should be embarrassed. The Nobel Prize used to stand for something outstanding. Not anymore. It's a JOKE!. And the real joke is on the American people for having elected "that one" for ALL THE WRONG REASONS. What a mess!!

Frankly republicans attitude is way out of hand. it is obvious that partisanship politics has engulfed them so much that decency and patriotism has been trown off. i feel for common republicans who still identify themselves as repugs.

FCC reglulations against profanity in the media prevents me from expressing myself adequately in this forum. Too bad because I've got a few choice words for these idiots who are critical of everything our President does. Obviously people in other countries appreciate our President more than the morons who are criticizing him for winning an award he absolutely deserves, after only 9 months in office.

What stupid idiot wrote that aritcle? I'm an independent and I certainly don't agree with Obama's winning of the peace prize. He was nominated when, in January, when he had done nothing but talk and to this day that is still all he has done!!

So once again, the good old DNC, proud recipient of ACORN/SEIU largesse is calling people who oppose Obama and his policies names. The libs are so good at that, but then aside from dope smoking and watching Oprah, they really have nothing else to do except see what they steal from the taxpayers.

The chairperson is correct. The Republicans want to see this president and this country fail miserably so that they can get back control of congress and the presidency.

Nothing matters to them when it comes to money and power!

The RNC has been advocating behavior that ultimately equates to open rebellion, and even violence. So I'm inclined to agree with the DNC on this one. The Democrat's were bad while Bush was in office, but they hadn't move to the part of complete insanity that we're seeing from the Republicans. If this keeps up, we may see a civil war brought on by their hate and fear mongering.

This is sad. The Republican Party that act like spoil rotten children who cannot get their way. People if you are a Republican please please think about your values as an American can see if this is truely the party you want to belong. This is a shameful situation for me to know that people in America hate the President so much that they can actually go to any length to see him fail.

According to Michael Steele and Ed Rollins that's exactly what the Republicans are doing, whose side are they on aligning themselves with Hammas and the Taliban?

Republicans will throw themselves to anyone who will help them de-rail President Obama. They've become dangerous.

    Gee; all the name-calling.

The Right calls anyone not agreeing with them a "socialist," the Left calls anyone not agreeing with them a "racist" (I guess "fascist" is out of style now), and EVERYONE calls anyone not agreeing with them a "terrorist."

Reminds me of my old elementary school playground.

It's about time the dems grew a spine and began hitting back at the hatemoners on the right. The wingnuts are just jealous that President Obama has done so well at repairing our image around the world in such a short time after little georgie trashed it, and now that his efforts at putting the economy back on track after little georgie derailed it and drove it into a ditch are bearing the first fruits, their heads are about to explode! Enjoy your sour grapes crybabies.

This award is not just on 'expectations' or 'early', to say that is to negate what President Obama has accomplished (both as Senator and as President). Congratulations to our President and let it be a great reflection on our country.

Well guys, the GOP will always find criticism in every thing that gives honor to our new President and our country. So please let's not act surprise. If they did not criticize this, we all would think that something was wrong with the GOP. So, let us receive their criticism as an honor and keep on trucking. Besides, we all know that the GOPs are a group who does not support PEACE and they truly do not support their own country nor the people in THEIR country!!! Their only support exist for their party.

So when Democrats laughed and applauded when Bush choked on a pretzel that was okay? When Democrats said we HAD lost the war in Iraq, they were in league with terrorists? Give me a break ! Republicans and Democrats take back your parties from these idiots that instead of looking at the issues and how to fix things want to use labels like terrorists, fat, etc to describe their opponents.

I have a solution for health care take 45 million uninsured and give them a voucher for $10,000 for insurance. 45,000,000 x 10,000 = 450 Billion dollars half of what the current plans cost. Everyone would have insurance and we could save trees instead of printing out 1,000s of pages of needless legislation.
