RNC slams Obama award

(CNN) – Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is slamming the Nobel Committee's decision to award Presdient Obama the Nobel Peace Prize:

“The real question Americans are asking is, ‘What has President Obama actually accomplished?’ It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights. One thing is certain – President Obama won’t be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action.”

Obama winning that award makes sense. They gave it to Gore for making a fictional movie and Carter for being an anti-semite.

Why NOT give it to a mindless fool now?

I can't believe I am agreeing with Steele. Usually he is just a propaganda talking head for the RNC.

Name one republican who has "made real achievements working towards peace and human rights" lately. They're much better at making real achievements working towards war, ignoring the poor and increasing corporate profits. Have a nice day!

So... an American president wins the Nobel Peace Prize and the GOP whines that it's a bad thing? Why do Republicans hate America?

Steel get's it right for a change. What has Obama done to deserve this? Nothing. It is now not such a prestigious award. His PR People writing speeches he reads off the teleprompter deserve it more than he does. Take the money and put it in the tax coffer to cover some of your spending but give the medal back.

    This is so SAD.
Americans, we must let the GOP know that we no longer will accept or tolerate their CRAP.
Their sewer tactics and the media fully supporting them has to
stop. They are an embarressment and the rest of the world is
watching. What they must be thinking of us.

What has the President accomplished? At this point in his reign, Bush had already lost the World Trade Center.

Here we go. Conservatives have to find a way to describe our president winning the Nobel Peace Prize as an insult to America and the action of a bunch of lackwit, politically correct Europeans whose opinion can be dismissed. After ten months of opposing everything that Obama proposes, locking up the Senate, dragging out debate. dispatching crowds of rowdies to town hall meetings and "tea parties," and disseminating outrageous lies about "death panels" and birth certificates, and doing everything else possible to kill every Obama Administration proposal - NOW the Conservatives are saying that Obama hasn't accomplished enough.

So, it must gall Conservatives that Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, and Barack Obama have all won the Nobel Peace Prize and the respect of the world, while their heroes Ronald Reagan, George Bush (the good one), George Bush (the other one), John McCain, and Sarah Palin are remembered as no-talent, unaccomplished, intellectual light-weights. For some reason, Conservatives prefer not-too-smart leaders.

Yes perhaps if he could add fuel to disagreements, like iran and north korea, and russia. Perhaps had he refused to speak with anyone who disagreed with him. Perhaps he could have backed out of international treaties and violate international law and conventions like the previous administration. Then maybe he would get a small nod from republicans. Gee im shocked they didnt suggest these aproaches instead. Just give him a moment and a chance, and let it go for a day.
You guys have nothing, Where are your ideas and plans, without them you will not regain power.

What a joke! What has been accomplished? President Obama has done virtually nothing yet for America and the world, and yet he is given rock star status? Talk about bias!!!! Let's see how he handles Afgahanistan and Iran and the middle east, and then let's talk about peace. Remember, appeasement is not peace (as we saw with Hitler). It only makes things worse. No one should promote war, but burrying your head in the sand is equally dangerous. We have laws and police domestically, but we seem to think they are not needed internationally. in the words of Dr. Phil, GET REAL!!!

This is as much an honor for President Obama as it is a slam against the republican agenda and the last administration. This shows you what the rest of the world thought of Bush and his dictatorship. For those who say who cares what the rest of the world thinks? We all better care as our economy isn't going to be the primary economy very much longer. That is also thanks to the last administration. Everything about is was crooked, ill conceived, and an abomination to the rest of the world, (including our allies), which cause us to lose respect globally. We are now in repair mode, and this prize for Obama and his administration is imeasurable.
