(CNN) – Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is slamming the Nobel Committee's decision to award Presdient Obama the Nobel Peace Prize:
“The real question Americans are asking is, ‘What has President Obama actually accomplished?’ It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights. One thing is certain – President Obama won’t be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action.”

Nice - MLK said "I have a dream" - and if it wasnt for that dream, Michael Steele would be getting sprayed down by water hoses. Obama didnt choose to be given the award, he's just trying to push for the dream of all these positive things he sees, to come to fruition. How about this – for just one moment let us be proud of the fact that the President of The United States has won The Nobel Peace Prize. Novel idea don't u think. I mean really – let's all take a breath.
We know that we must at all times take every opportunity to negate any thing that could possibly be considered positive about our president. But in this, please let's all just take a breath. We must look like fools to the rest of the world.
The only thing that Obama did was to unseat a fascist regime. So I guess that is peaceful. I agree he hasn't really earned but compared to the international disaster of the past 8 years I guess it is noteworthy.

Congratulations to US Presiden Obama on this award. Good will win over evil. The GOP of couse would not enjoy this. They just got some egg on their faces after rejoicing about the Olympic issue. It was sad to see actual americans rejoicing over that but I guess they hate him so much that the hatred obscured their judgement. This shows that they are people rooting for your President to be successful although he is not perfect, he has a good heart most people want good things to happen for all. So fight on Pres. Obama.
Are we really surprised that they have something negative to say. Because winning a Nobel Prize is so dishonarable..smh. Bottom feeders what else can be expected! After 8 years of accomplishing NOTHING the Republicans find a way of trashing everything Obama does, did, or will do.

The real question is, how can the RNC foment such petty divisiveness in America when our commander-in-chief has received such a prestigious award? Had a Republican president won the Nobel Peace Prize, the Democratic Party would have been the first to congratulate him.
The biggest questions we Americans ask what has Mr Steele and his party done to the world in decades? Iraq war or near depression. Torture or abuse of our own constitution? Hey steele keep quiet as this President clears your mess as Clinton did.

Actually, the real question is whether or not anyone is surpised that the RNC would denounce any decision that recognized Barack Obama for trying to accomplish anything good.
I would love to see someone comment on here something that he has actually accomplished to be given this award. I mean a concrete accomplishment and not just "has a vision of" or "called for" or "begun the process of."

Obviously, the crybabies in the Republican Party never learned manners from their parents. Even if they disagree with the decision, YOU DON'T SLAM A SITTING PRESIDENT WHEN HE GETS AN INTERNATIONAL HONOR. The RNC should be asking " What has Michael Steele accomplished?" Its unfortunate that a man who has led a charge to deny the President and this country any real progess towards making healthcare affordable is being allowed to once again be the mouthpiece for a corrupt oligarchy who only seek to enrich themselves. One thing is certain: The GOP won't win any rewards from the American people if they continue to try to attack and destroy this president without giving any serious proposals as an alternative.

The fact that the RNC would make such a graceless, infantile comment is only overshadowed by the fact that they don't even realize what it characterizes about them.
Wow. Obama wins a Nobel Prize and the Republicans issue a statement denigrating his achievement. They cheer when the Olympics go to Brazil. He gives a speech to kids urging them to study hard, and they complain that it's indoctrination. That's not politics, it's pathology.
Their guy ran the country into the ground for eight years, and now you have someone who is trying to fix the mess he inherited. Getting the Nobel Peace Prize is a sign that American leadership has reestablished itself, yet these phony patriots can't find anything better to do than carp and whine.
You may disagree with Obama's policies - nothing wrong with that - but he hasn't lied us into war, trashed the Constitution, used the Justice Department for partisan advantage, alienated our friends and helped our enemies, or done nothing when he was warned that Al Qaeda was prepared to strike. The Nobel Prize is one sign that this sorry chapter in American history is over. The GOP is so wrapped up in its own bile that it can't recognize or acknowledge this.
Steele's statement is one more reminder of why he's the nobody he is.
Michael Steal, Rush, Hannity, Beck and Faux News are just jealous. When are they going to learn that the more evil they directs towards the President it is turn around to his good. Congratulations Mr President and may God continue to bless you.
