RNC slams Obama award

(CNN) – Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is slamming the Nobel Committee's decision to award Presdient Obama the Nobel Peace Prize:

“The real question Americans are asking is, ‘What has President Obama actually accomplished?’ It is unfortunate that the president’s star power has outshined tireless advocates who have made real achievements working towards peace and human rights. One thing is certain – President Obama won’t be receiving any awards from Americans for job creation, fiscal responsibility, or backing up rhetoric with concrete action.”

    You jealous soul!

What has he accomplished? He has accomplished respect and accolades for trying to foster peace and not war like his predecessor. Have you heard from Castro and Chavez lately?

I would like to pose a Mr. Steele a very simple question…

Who has done more to promote global peace & security in 2009 than Barack Obama?

    No, seriously Mr. Steele...Who?

Ok, so the republicans hate the Nobel prize awards committee. How is this the 'fault' of President Obama?

Republicans are represented by this man. Therefore, I can only conclude that all republicans are illogical fools.

Enough of that windbag Steele. How has he contributed to the advancement of jobs and fiscal responsibility. They are just circling like vultures but he should look in the mirror, the RNC has accomplished nothing but try to divide the country.

All the countries that have made it through their recessions, Japan and Germany etc have stood by their elected leaders. Americans need to wise up and unite ! This is 9 months, where were they for 8 years....give me a break!

Yes President OBAMA is young, accomplishments are many, cheapend awards, NO! He will receive many nay sayers by the GOP and other who believe they should have received it. However he will remember the award was given for future potential, he will donate his million toward a worthy cause and nation and ensure future help. President OBAMA potential for greatness has been recognized. YES, THE GOP has failed and will continue to fail, YES WE CAN! HEALTHCARE FOR ALL IS A WORTHY ACHIEVEMENT!

Why is every one giving Obama such a hard time! OMG really, he's been in office less than a year, it takes time to get things corrected. Leave the man alone and let he do the best job he can do considerating what type of mess was left for him..

    Mr. Steele,
Why you are crying? because your boss did not get it. You should be proud about this instead of opening your mouth. Committee must have faith in him that he can bring peace and stability in the world. keep in mind he is not a warmonger...........

OK, Before people start complaining about Republicans, think about what was said, "What has he accomplished", other than going all over the world telling people he is sorry for what "America" has done to them. I really don't see anything concrete that he has done, other than make a "fool" of himself at the "beer summit". The Democrats defend him by saying " he has only been in office 9 months", so what has he done in those 9 months to win this Prize?????

You probally will not post this, maybe I had better go to FOX and post this, I think more people read and watch FOX than CNN anyway!!!!!

Perception is reality. Whether he has accomplished real change or not, his openness and willingness to listen, and try to reach accords instead of dictate threaten and ignore, has changed the world's perceptions of us as a nation and a people. You can argue whether that's worthy or not, but before you build a house you need a strong foundation.

Republicans have completely missed the point regarding everything President Obama is striving to accomplish. The Nobel people recognize this. He deserves the award for standing up to the kinds of actions that are destroying the country and world.

Micheal Steele, you are an embarrassment to yourself, your crazy party, and to honest Americans. Obama has accomplished more in less than 9 months than Bush accomplished in 8 years. Last time I checked my portfolio, it was up over 30%. When Bush was in office, it was down. Obama good looking on saving my retirement funds, because the Rethugblicans have no clue on how to fix the economy. That’s why the stock market has rallied in the green, since the new administrations arrival. Eat it haters lol!

And here they go! Name one person who the committee should have awarded the annual prize to, instead of President Obama. So typical of the opposition party to criticize anything to do with the President.

  19. Say what?

This prize should have rightly gone to Obama's teleprompter - for "a mechanical device trying to promote world peace."

Who on Earth questions the Nobel Peace Prize Committee???? Who but these idiots on the homefront? These are the same people who were actually happy that we DID NOT get the Olympics. Steele, find some dignity and JUST SAY NO when you're asked to be the poster child for GOP stupidity, hatefulness, jealousy, and anything Un-American. For Pete's sakes!

This RNC reaction is offensive. Fine, if you think it's premature, but they should at least congratulate him. He is OUR PRESIDENT and has been given a very prestigious award! Again, they are showing a lack of patriotism.

OMG what a yutz this guy is and what a black eye for the Republicans that they allow him access to a mic – shame, shame, shame. His grandmother would kick his behind for this kind of stupidity.

    Huh. Country First, Republicans?

Perhaps, just perhaps the reality that President Obama was going to engage with the world instead of reflexively bombing it might have had a lot to do with the prize being awarded to him than anything else.

This is shocking, perhaps to the entire world.

How did Obama win Nobel price for peace and why?

What an absurdity? This might the irk the entire world. Obama must reject it to stop his sliding approval ratings.
