Your missing the point of the award. It's for bringing peace to the world, not fixing America's financial problems. Obama's speeches have helped bring peace talks to the table. We should be proud this president is getting the Nobel Peace Prize and not getting shoes thrown at him.

As long as the GOP obstructionists are doing their best to undermine this president, Obama will have a tough go of it.

Jealous old man. Just like all the other egotistical juvenile Greedy Obstructionist Party members. Retire Rollins, you're a big fat bag of hot air. Your past doesn't mean squat. What did YOUR presidents attempt? Grade B Movies? Watergate? 2 Wars? Fear-mongering?

Nonsense! I’ve no idea what’s going on but it sounds like a sham to me. How in the world does one win a Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing?

There are sooo many more deserving people of this prize. From global aid workers, who have given their lives to the “meek”, to others who have highlighted the plights and tribulations of the same people.

Obama will use this money for democratic campaigns, while those truly deserving to be be Nobel laureates would spend it on their humanitarian causes.

Good job Nobel committee; you just cheapened the value of the prize!

He has NOT earned the Nobel Peace Prize. This is a disgrace to the award and all of those who received it legitimately. Was this the "sorry you didn't get the olympics" consolation prize?

Rollins is a typical Repub whiner. When will these losers learn to keep their mouths shut? Have they nothing positive to offer or do they only embrace negativism?

The GOP cheers when the US loses an Olympic bid & joins the Taliban & Hamas in criticizing Obama's Nobel Peace price. Sweet!

There, there people, now I know that Obama is hated just for hate sake. Can any Republican just stand up and say, he is good and let it be, rather than try to find this and that to say.

He won it, so what, get a life people, get a life. Do you think he will stop now just because of the award, his work is still ahead of him and he knows it.

When they choose who should receive this prize they do so using criteria that has nothing to do with the information the public receives that has been spun to death. They do not choose lightly because a bad choice would reflect negatively on something that is held in high esteem. These people have the opportunity to look at the WHOLE picture. To see what has been done behind the scenes in quiet ways. They do not base their decision on the information relayed by news television. This represents far more than just our president getting this award. Two years ago everyone on the planet hated and feared us....we had fallen from grace....wake up...this represents the fact that the planet has welcomed us back into the fold. They recognize we made a good choice, that we are worth saving, we are worth being a part of the planet again.

Obama deserves the prize for trying to work with the dangerous terrorist elements who are out to destroy the US on behalf of their own ideology... the Republican Party.

At one time the Nobel Prize was awarded for unique and outstanding achievements by very dedicated people .
Obama doesn't fit into either category.
It is a disgrace and does demean the Prize.

Rollins is simply another of the terrorists. He needs to say something honest for once before we true americans can ever take what he says as anything but another terrorist remark.

I agree. Continuing the policies of Bush et al against so-called terrorists is not Peaceful! Drone attacks on the Innocents is NOT Peaceful. In FACT ATTACKING THESE FOLKS IS COWARDLY AS THEY HAVE NO DEFENSE. One who is peaceful DOES NOT allow violence. This award is just more pandering from/to the world and sucking up to the Big Money Bags of the Corporatocracy! Obama needs to feel humility on this and he does need to show this world that issues and concerns can/will be addressed without resorting to Terrorist Violence BY these United States of Capitalism. In larger numbers, we ARE NOT Fooled by this Fear-Mongering. Peace, Let It Be!

The President should be very proud of this. It is quite an honor. Congratulations to him. My question is what are the requirements for qualifying and for winning this award. To me it seems that the award is based on what may happen in the future vs. what has actually been accomplished. I certainly see nothing that the President has accomplished or failed to accomplish during this year that stands out as being Nobel prize worthy.

Those stupid Republicans haven't done anything to obtain peace in this world and they have a lot of nerve to say that the President doesn't deserve he Prize. Don't they understand that one person alone can not bring peace to his world, but can add to the momentum of the things needed for that purpose such as nuclear disarmament and to strengthen international diplomacy so that leaders can learn to work together for the betterment of mankind. This is the theme of Obama's presidency and of course Republicans will try heir best to sabotage his efforts, but they are on the wrong side of histoy.
