Obama on health care: 'We're not there yet'

WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Barack Obama expressed satisfaction Tuesday with the Senate Finance Committee's passage of a health care bill, but said more work remains.

"We are now closer than ever before to passing health reform, but we're not there yet," he told reporters in the Rose Garden. "Now's not the time to pat ourselves on the back."

Instead, he said, it is time to "dig in and work even harder to get this done."

This President is right in that celebrations are NOT in order! This vote by virtue of 12 Democrats and 1 RINO made this hurdle a mere skip. Now, watch how fast the Democrats will insert Public Option into the final bill and try and jam it through. This Congressional majority and the President are weakening this country one bill at a time!

Why is it went every some tries to improve a system of the better peolpe alway ask were the money in going to be coming from. I get so tired of hearing peolpe complainting about things went they dont put the veiws forward.

There is one way around this you should all paid national Insurance which will intitle you all to free health care.

Now you would have the problem for health care going up if you had a system like the NHS.

The Prez is right ...we need a public option to keep the greedy Insurance Companies in check. I'll bet the Sales Agents and commissioned employees are the first to go. The expensive...non productive GUYS at the top will NEVER lose their over paid positions.Maybe they may chip in and help in customer service or claims.

Why are all you libs so ignorant when it comes to economics. Since when has the government ever saved a dime on anything? If employers are force fed this horsesh** plan and required to pay for more of the employee/family premiums how many jobs will be eliminated to pay for those higher premiums? I also find it peculiar that your so concerned about healthcare for all but yet you'll abort a baby at the drop of a hat because you don't want to take responsibility for your actions. Pass this healthcare bill watch unemployment jump from 10% to close to 20% within 6 months.

Currently 19 percent of my income goes to pay for health insurance, the government could increase my taxes 10%, provide universal health care to everyone, and I'd still come out ahead! Health care without a public option is no option!

Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine puts America first before party (crazy, lunatic party in her case). This is a real republican just like Ron Paul... i know, i know, he doesnt support real health care reform but his votes say "Real" Republican unlike his usless party members.

    Insurance companies are thieves!
Let's find out which members of congress they own.
    Then shut them down.
    Medicare for everybody.
Reform is not reform without the public option.
    You go, Mr. President!

Ugh.... public option... liberals' way of saying they're too cheap and lazy to take care of themselves, so they need the government to give them a juice box and a binkie and tuck them into their crib at night.

Democrats are truly amazing. Do you REALLY think that Republicans hate America? Do you REALLY believe that???

If you do, it just shows how jaded you are. We have differences on how to solve the healthcare issues that face us today. That's it. They are differences. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think you are a bad person or hate anyone because you feel differenly about how to go about a solution. I just don't agree. I don't want the government involved. I think they are inefficient and beaucratic.

You need to GROW up, stop calling names and listen to the other side. Somewhere in the middle is where we have to be.

If Obama really wants to help all Americans, and not just the few who voted for him, then he should simply come up with a government plan whereas all medicine issues are done through government employees. Doctors, nurses, all of them can simply work for the government at lower wages. The government can then use government profits from all of the companies they bailed out to pay for these people's salaries. This way, everyone gets 'free' healthcare for life, just as those illegals do when they walk into the hospitals talking 'no Englesh'!

It's not finished yet. Still time for the G-No-P to show how further it has gone into the pockets of big business.

    G-No-P –
    No ideas

    No truth
    No to a better America

Cannot wait for all you supporters of the Health plan to wait for your premiums skyrocket after the Government charges the health insurance companies with taxes to help pay for the plan. Who do you think is going to pay for the taxes on the Health Insurance Companies? You you idiots. Also when theplan goes into affect how soon will it be beforre your copany takes away your health plan coverage because it becomes to expensive. Again because your hero is charging the insurance companies taxes to pay for the plan. Again where do you think the money is going to come from? Again they will raise the rates to your employer and they will drop their coverage and you will have nothing. Good luck liberals. You will wreck the health insurance industry and your health coverage.....
I wish you all luck. While it will not happen immediately, it will in the next three years and then we will see how much you support your hero....

Christian values – doubt if you have ever opened a Bible in your life – just where did you get your 45,000 figure? Been drinking obama kool-aid? People can and do and always have gone to emergency rooms for care that is why we need to send illegals back to their country of origin. The only hospital that didn't allow this was the one where mean michelle worked and her and axelrod had a plan to keep them out!
