The NRCC tweet before it was removed.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - The National Republican Congressional Committee has removed a tweet Tuesday that linked to a video comparing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with Adolf Hitler.

The tweet, sent out Tuesday morning on their official Twitter account, read: "Funny Video: Moonbattery: Hitler Reacts to ObamaCare Maneuvers http://bit.ly/2mOvZ7 #Pelosi". It comes the same day the NRCC released a petition on their site to "Fire Nancy Pelosi."

The tweet immediately drew strong criticism from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. "House Republicans have gone way too far. The NRCC's despicable promotion of a video comparing Speaker Pelosi's effort to reform health insurance in America to Adolf Hitler's extermination of millions is a shocking new low that must be condemned," said DCCC spokeswoman Jennifer Crider. "Republican Leader John Boehner should order NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions to immediately remove this vile Tweet and apologize."

NRCC spokesman John Randall said Tuesday the group had made a mistake. "We obviously made an error in linking to this video and it has been taken down," said Randall.

This tweet comes on the heels of a controversial NRCC statement last week that called on Gen. Stanley McChrystal to "put [Pelosi] in her place" on the topic of Afghanistan.

Comparing anyone today to Hitler, has all the logic of comparing them to Mickey Mouse. There IS no logic. It's just using a name that means nothing. You hate filled people should do a little reading and maybe in history there might actually be someone that you could use to expose your hate on. Don't you get weary of hating? It takes a lot out of a person to think nothing but angry thoughts about others. Who knows, maybe someone out there thinks the same thing about you...Do you ever get that funny feeling that someone HATES YOU??

John   October 13th, 2009 11:42 pm ET

Big surprise.

No conservative commentary seems complete without a Nazi comparison.

Brendan H., San Antonio, TX   October 13th, 2009 11:39 pm ET

I'm glad to see that nothing's changed for the GOP – never mind issues, attack people like this.

Buddy Gilmour   October 13th, 2009 11:39 pm ET

Never been a fan of Pelosi, but that will change if she pushes through the public option. Ordinarily I wouldn't have much hope, but maybe comparing her to Hitler will anger her enough to get to work and kick their butts. Nancy, this is for the history books, if you pass the public option (which is what we need to make our nation truly great) you'll be in there alongside FDR, if not nobody will ever remember you.

The Old White Men Party of Hate.

BJ   October 13th, 2009 11:22 pm ET

CNN you know what you are doing everytime you run these things. I blame you with Fox for this madness. To put the record straight – I would rather watch MSNBC anyday of the week than watch your backdoor politics.

James Michael Roberson   October 13th, 2009 11:04 pm ET

This video and the people who are behind it are disgusting. Obama, Pelosi, and Harry Reid are trying to make this country and the world a better place. This is how the republicans are spending their time? No wonder we went down the tubes under their leadership.

bob in LA   October 13th, 2009 11:02 pm ET

For all the bad jokes and the comments on bush's incompetency and lies siad by Democrats and liberals, no ever called him the things that the Republicans and conservatives say about Obama, Pelosi and Ried.
The situation has become deplorable and must stop. This is not free speech. This hate talk is slander and should be deemed injurious and subject to legal action.

Pat   October 13th, 2009 10:59 pm ET

America is getting dumber by the day. We are becoming a country of name -calling whiners that want to blame everything on everyone else. I was not alive then (I was a kid when Vietnam was going on) but I can imagine how disgusted those people that lived from WW I to WW II must feel about their country.

From the baby boomers on, we have all been spoiled. We have learned how to think just for ourselves and not our fellow Americans. I'm talking about BOTH parties.

Grow up America or soon we will end up like Rome.

Jackie   October 13th, 2009 10:56 pm ET

Smells like Rush Limbaugh to me!

Erik   October 13th, 2009 10:56 pm ET

So what i'm getting from Tom from NC is that if you have nationalized health care, you are of the Nazi party.....yet practically EVERY country outside of our own has nationalized health care! So.....everyone but Americans are Nazis?? Why are some people so incredibly misinformed?? They don't even know the definitions of socialism and fascism....which are completely OPPOSITE political viewpoints! You can't just throw out accusations like this when you don't even understand them! Grow up!

David   October 13th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

The GOP has gone off the deep end. Will all due respect, what the hell is wrong with them? This is sick.

P. D.   October 13th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

Stay classy Republicans!

lasvegasrose   October 13th, 2009 10:36 pm ET

Since my grandmother came from prewar Germany to get away from the Brownshirts, I find ANY reference to Hitler tossed around ignorantly to be stupid. Most Americans have no concept as to what it was like over there living under that regime.
You should be kissing the ground to live in this country. Trust me, in most countries these open opinions would not be tolerated. You'd be pulled out of your home and never heard from again in prewar Germany.

Change in American   October 13th, 2009 10:35 pm ET

Wow the Republicans is women biast now they attacking a women,
I am a struggling american we dont have time for drama like this.

We need to vote Republicans out the office.

RobT   October 13th, 2009 10:29 pm ET

This is a low blow. I am a strong believer and working together between parties. I'm glad the NRCC is working towards improving America in a bipartisan manor.....WAAAAAIT.

Washington Lincoln   October 13th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

I am sick of persons in positions of leadership showing no honor. I am sick of the hypocricy and hateful comments coming most loudly from the GOP...the party of hate, the party of NO.
No wonder our youth show no respect, look at the complete lack of respect persons in authority show, from vice president Cheney on down. It is time for adult to act like adults and stop spewing hate. Time to clean house at the NRCC.

Ron   October 13th, 2009 10:25 pm ET

Yet another reason not to trust, believe, or ever support the GOP again!

Bill from CA   October 13th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Wasn't the Republican Party the ones who gave us George W. Bush and Dick Cheney? If so, then they really have no credibility in calling anyone Hitler. Let's see...Bush & Cheney created a bogus war that has killed more Americans than Bin Laden has, not to mention thousands of Iraqi civilians. Pelosi & Obama are trying to give all Americans access to affordable health care. Only in a party as twisted and removed from the values of REAL Americans as the GOP is could wanting health care for everyone make someone like Pelosi or Obama evil.

Whatever happened to decency & civility   October 13th, 2009 10:18 pm ET

No wonder our youth show no respect, look at the complete lack of respect persons in authority show, from our vice president on down. It is time for adult to act like adults and stop spewing hate. It is time for people in positions of leadership to show decency and civility.

Marty, Grand Rapids MI   October 13th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Comparisons to anyone in America to Hitler need to stop. It's ridiculous. On the same note, the DNC calling republican's who are against the peace prize with 'terrorists' is just as bad. We need to focus on the issues and drop the smears.

Funny when Moveon.Org compared Former President Bush to Hitler no one here cared. But when a Democrat is treated the same way we have to raise Holy Hell. If it's okay to call Republicans Hitler the same should be true for Democrats. Let's not have a double standard.

ForSerious   October 13th, 2009 9:50 pm ET

The sad thing is, a surprisingly large minority of Americans believe things like this. And if the GOP wants to pander to this minority they should plan on being in the minority again after the midterm elections, as talk like this alienates the vast majority of Americans.

Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, and now the RNCC are doing more to help democrats in 2010 than anyone else

tigerakabj   October 13th, 2009 9:43 pm ET

Eric Holder, continue to investigate the state-sponsored torture regime. It's time to bury this sorry-excuse for a party along with the Whig and Bull-moose parties.

These are the folks that launched 2 wars (that Obama has to now clean up w/o the invaded locations going into chaos), crashed our economy (does a weak or strong economy equal better national security?), left those people to drown during Katrina, etc, etc., etc. And recently they cheered when America didn't get a potential economic booster (2016 Olympics) and mocked our president for getting the Nobel Peace Prize (it's alot easier to fight global warming when you have the rest of the globe on your side, not against you).

And they have the gall to compare Pelosi to Hitler? Just when I think they can't get any lower...

HJA   October 13th, 2009 9:41 pm ET

One of the tools that truly identifies the Nazi party was their use of propaganda. Today no one is better at lies and misinformation than the republican party. Sorry Randall but you and your cronies are the true Nazi party of today. Don't expect much from the next election. We're on to you.

Len (Colorado)   October 13th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

The GOP...... a bunch of individuals who will never care about the middle class or poor of this country. I cannot wait for 2010 when we can vote them all out of office.....They are a disgrace to this country.

Jon   October 13th, 2009 7:24 pm ET

Wait, I'm confused. I agree with the DNC; comparing someone is Hitler is not a healthy thing for the country. It certainly does not help us get out of the shouting match we're in and begin to have actual debate.

But I hope someone can provide me with some context. When Bush was compared to Hitler in the past, did the DNC ever make a comment that the comparison was taking things too far?

I doubt it. We've had so much animosity generated from both sides for so long, the pot and the kettle are just in denial.

Ian   October 13th, 2009 7:23 pm ET

Um... repubs are not the brightest lights in the room are they?? Hitler was a fascist, Fascism is on the right, right near where the repubs sit on the spectrum. Maybe better education systems for republican areas is needed; I think they are failing out or dropping out. Either way they don't have a clue what they are talking about lol.

Jim   October 13th, 2009 7:23 pm ET

The American people should research history to understand what world leaders and governments have done over the last 100 plus years and then compare what our leaders in every branch of government have done and are doing with the historic cases. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's a duck, plain and simple. If you don't want to know the truth, keep your head buried in the sand and keep saying everything is okay.

debi   October 13th, 2009 7:23 pm ET

This party will NEVER STOP THEIR HATE while the Democrats are in power, they are hypocrites that can't remember what their party did to this country for eight years!

Chris   October 13th, 2009 7:23 pm ET

This is explains why most Jewish people vote for democratic candidates. Six million people were murdered 70 years ago and the rethugs trivialize this in a political slam. Do the sick and vile GOP care at all about the people who were murdered during the holocaust?

Fred   October 13th, 2009 7:22 pm ET

The only thin more ridiculus in this country than the overspending underproductive government is the losers that think one party is better than the other. Both party's are equally worthless and until we limit terms for all politicians we are doomed to these worthless ideas. Like making everybody by health ins or pay a fine, government can't even make auto ins mandatory, what a joke. Throw them all out!!!!!

Tony Rosario   October 13th, 2009 7:22 pm ET

JR Jake   October 13th, 2009 7:21 pm ET

Just when you think things are starting to simmer down, you get somebody who wants to label another with a very denigrating tag. I did not know Ms. Pelosi wanted genocide against the Jews. However I do know she has a real problem with ignorance, if I could be so blunt. Do you think you 'children' can play nicely without calling each other names? Just try it for 1-2 weeks, you will your days will go smoother and mayne, just maybe, you can sit down over lunch or dinner and work details out on some of the bills you have been deadlocked. Give it a shot, you might like the results.

Peter   October 13th, 2009 7:20 pm ET

Mike FL   October 13th, 2009 7:19 pm ET

A war of words from people in both parties that arent particulary bright. And its not just one side its both so people from either party quit jumping up and screaming foul when both are guilty. And as far as people calling each other un american for this and un american for that are completly ignorant to the fact that voicing ones opinion is the most american thing you could possibly do and people who dont like it dont listen and move to Iran where you cant say anything bad at all. As far as the wicked witch of the west goes who cares what they call her everyone is entitled to their beliefs but now a days you cant say anyhting with someone being offended kind of goes against the whole freedom of speech thing doesnt it? Does it upset everyone that they called her that? Calling someone Hitler is kind of like calling someone a racist with no proof except your personal fellings

R   October 13th, 2009 7:17 pm ET

Do any of these idiots know how Hitler was? Do they know what he did? I am so sick of people using his name to describe anyone who differs in opinion with them. Grow up and start behaving responsibility. Is there any wonder why our Country's children are so damaged?

John C   October 13th, 2009 7:17 pm ET

Mostof the nuts absest with hating can't name a single thing she has done. They just through out the names they where spoonfed and have no idea what they are talking about. Also one loose cannon doesn't mean anything. If you ask me both parties should be replaced.

I didn't realize Nancy Pelosi is an aggresive facist that believes in racial superiority and the eradication of jews

Ron   October 13th, 2009 7:13 pm ET

Okay, I don't get it. How come these guys and women, who pride themselves on right wing facist viewpoints, are militarily agressive, and have caused more civil liberty erosion, are so fast to call the President and Pelosi Hitler? Republicans created -Homeland(Fatherland), NSA (Secret Police) torture camps (enough said) Patriot act (no rights) Cheney (WOW!).
The Republican govt. used 911 as an excuse to erode the constitiutional rights of Americans.
Just stop with the Hitler stuff already, it sounds silly.

Are these people forgetting who are the racist that were against civil rights for blacks?, who are anti inmigrants specially against latinos?, who are anti gays?, who are in favor of the death penalty? Last time I check all that is related republicans. My God whom ever is comparing Pelosi or Reid to Hitler I think needs to do a reality check.

Lisa from AK   October 13th, 2009 7:09 pm ET

These cry babies need to be sent to the Gulag and experience true torture and inhumane treatment, then let them see if they will compare a democratic country where, anything goes, with Hitler There would be no comparison from your cushy D.C. condo to the cold prison floors, have they no respect for what the Jews went through? Bunch of Limbaugh loving wimps. off with their heads!!!

NO   October 13th, 2009 7:09 pm ET

Thank you Joe for clearing that up for those naive conservatives that like throw words until they stick. I am sure they wont believe you because Rush or Glen Beck didn't say it. We just had 7 years of Facism and we are still there (insurance company). We need to take our country back from the facist (rethuglicans)!

Republican Leader John Boehner reminds me of a failed sheep herder. I've seen more leadership in stampede of lemmings. He's worthless to the party, but fits right in with the others. Go John, paint mustaches on pictures of people you don't like and apply the skills you learned in preschool.

TellTheTruth   October 13th, 2009 7:07 pm ET

Without a public option the health care plan has no teeth. Witness the shrill scare tactics by the insurance industry. The GOP health care plan is: "If you get sick, die quickly". Health care will pass in spite of the people hating republicans. So Pelosi is Hitler..hmmmm. then who is Bush and Cheney? Rumsfeld? Karl Rowe? A. Gonzales? The Myers lady? I could go on but I'll just waste electrons...The party of No is more irrelevant by the hour, I'm only glad its leader, Limbaugh, is going deaf, now if he could just lose his voice, that would be merciful.

Joe   October 13th, 2009 7:06 pm ET

Let the sensationalism continue! Wow, I sure love my media sources and their ability to fire up message boarders who have no patience to use reason. The inability check out the actually source the article is based on is really encouraging. Let me be the first to say that this video is ALWAYS being redubbed. My favorites include Hitler complaining about USC football and Hitler loses his Xbox Live account. Word of advice to everyone: Take a deep breathe, and relax. This won't be the last thing about politics that will make you angry. Submitting to your anger just makes you look foolish.

Moonbeam   October 13th, 2009 7:05 pm ET

Are you a Republican? Do you have a brain size of walnut and never in your life had an original thought in your head? No problem!
Just compare everyone you do not like either with Hitler or Stalin, they are fashionable now with GOP.

Chandler   October 13th, 2009 7:05 pm ET

Hitler killed millions of people, an atrocity which in no way compares to anything that Pelosi has done. The flippant use of the comparison is an insult to the MILLIONS of people that died, their families, and to all of the people who have been subjected to violence or intimidation at the hands of hate groups who use Nazi symbolism.

By using fear, exaggeration, and the symbolism of hate groups everywhere, they are only enforcing the idea that opponents of health care reform do not have actual facts to counter the proposed reform. The gross exaggeration is so classless, cheap, and unintelligent I think it says far more negative things about the Republican Party than it does the Pelosi.

LacrosseMom   October 13th, 2009 7:05 pm ET

IS anyone surprise by this? Typical GOP propaganda of hate! And they will argue that they do not hate!

The Liberals may have criticized Bush's policies, but we never attacked him with........ hate.

The thing is, that the Republicans claim they are THE.......... Christians! I do not know what Gospels they are reading, but I know for sure, that Jesus did not preach....... "hate your enemies" NOR "attack those you disagree with!"

Their hatred of President Obama, and indeed ALL Democrats is downright......... evil.

Ken in Gainesville   October 13th, 2009 7:05 pm ET

Republicans are truly disgusting. May they reap exactly what they sow. Such cowards!

Ms. Liberty   October 13th, 2009 6:38 pm ET

How dare the Republican compair Pelosi to Hilter!!!! Many in my family are concentration camp surivors. I will NEVER vote for a Republican and will work as hard as I can to see another Republican voted into office. NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions should be fired!!!

Richard   October 13th, 2009 6:38 pm ET

The fact that this was "accidentally" released indicates that this kind of diminished moral and mental activity is actually going on in the adminstative levels of the republican party. They really are a JOKE!

Jack from California   October 13th, 2009 6:37 pm ET

The Republican Nazi Party should watch out about name calling.

Al in Chesapeake   October 13th, 2009 6:36 pm ET

When the conservatives do something like this, the radical liberals come out of the woodwork. But when a liberal does the same thing they are cheered for doing/saying something like this. Look at all
the laws that have been broken by liberals in congress and on
Obama's staff. Why aren't the violations investigated? They sure
don't waste any time starting investigations when a conservative
allegedly does something wrong.

Michael Hsu   October 13th, 2009 6:36 pm ET

Pelosi's not hitler! No mustache = not hitler!

Chris   October 13th, 2009 6:34 pm ET

I believe that most people miss the point when Pelosi and/or Obama are referred to as Hitler. It seems to me that this is the lowest form of name calling that one can associate a politician to and is a direct comparision of the American way of earning your pay, paying for your families needs, etc. What the name calling is referring to is that Pelosi and Obama simply want to take more taxes and use them at their own discretion. It really has no bearing on helping others, but is meant to lower working class people towards the welfare state where so many people wallow through life with no ambitions.

tr   October 13th, 2009 6:34 pm ET

The Republicans are bereft of ideas and dignity. They cheapen the Holocaust and it's victims to score cheap political points with the far right. It's shameful.

inofritzn   October 13th, 2009 6:32 pm ET

lol truth hurts. Didn't she start the hitler garbage? btw, in this world when someone invokes hitler, it's called a god-win and the conversation is over, being the person who invoked hitler loses. Both sides are guilty

JAMEY   October 13th, 2009 6:32 pm ET

The GOP has been pretty worthless since the Nixon years, but they have gotten worse of late. They sold their soul and not they are paying the price.

JP   October 13th, 2009 6:32 pm ET

Pelosi is not Hitler, but she is a "Nazi."
Wasn't it she who first used that term? Crazy lady with the facial botox injections needs to be run out of office.

There is NO LOW that the Republican party will not go

The PARTY OF NO ... has the mentality of Junior High School Bullies pulling a girls hair

Absolutely disgusting ...

Hitler...no ! Fool...YES !

FormerGOP   October 13th, 2009 6:29 pm ET

Wow really! Is it that bad GOP!

Matt   October 13th, 2009 6:29 pm ET

Yeah I don't think Hitler would want to be comparred to Pelosi. Would you?

Sniffit   October 13th, 2009 6:28 pm ET

3,000 lives on 9/11 justified 4,300 more American lives lost, tens or hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives lost (because the idiot GOPers fell for the rhetoric), destruction of an entire country's infrastructure and spending a trillion dollars.

At 45,000 lives lost per year to treatable disease and trauma as a result of underinsurance of complete lack of insurance, we've lost 360,000 lives since 9/11, but the GOP doesn't want to spend a nickle on it. Why?

You do the math.

Pier Giacalone   October 13th, 2009 6:27 pm ET

"We made an error"?! What about an apology? This kind of thing only underlines what a fringe group of extremists Republicans have become.

It's worth considering what this says about one's perception of Hitler, not just Pelosi. This is a form of reducing the significance of the Holocaust as well as smearing Pelosi. I'm sure Jews everywhere can take comfort that the Republican Party thinks the extermination of 6 million of their people is some how comparable to a legislator writing a bill.

fred   October 13th, 2009 6:26 pm ET

So much for freedom of speech in the USA... I don't think its cool to say such things, but I am a big proponent of free speech. Might as well say goodbye to our right to bear arms and defend ourselves as well. Won't be long...

peggy   October 13th, 2009 6:26 pm ET

Are the people on both sides of the aisle ever grow up and act like the responsible people we though we had elected?

Mike in Dallas   October 13th, 2009 6:25 pm ET

The Republican party and Republican voters (some represented in this comments section) continue to disgust me. I will never, repeat never, vote for a Republican as long as they continue to pander to these people and their ideals.

Chtei   October 13th, 2009 6:25 pm ET

The GOP absolutely LOVE Hitler and it is obvious. The democratic party is no way another Nazi party and thinking it is ridiculous, if you are good with history. Too bad no education exists in the poor Southern states where conservatives infect America.

Michael   October 13th, 2009 6:24 pm ET

The Democrats had no problems when President Bush was compared to Hitler. Democrats, how does it feel when people return the statement to you?

Why does it go too far? Congressman "Nobody" keeps parroting a comment that the Republican health care plan is to "have you die quickly." I assume he keeps forgetting about the lib's support of abortion where "you die very, very quickly."

Jim   October 13th, 2009 6:23 pm ET

It's a rather appropriate comparison. Ever listen to her talk very closely. The health bill WILL pass before the break! The health bill WILL have the public option! The CIA are liars!

John   October 13th, 2009 6:22 pm ET

this is exactly why for 8 years of bush i stayed a democrat....republican party is a joke...nothing to offer...no answers...no facts ...just a bunch of made up lies and crap...go home GOP....wherever that might be...because none of you are AMERICANS....you are pathetic !

RA   October 13th, 2009 6:22 pm ET

Is there any lower the GOP can go? Desperation?

red33,cedar rapids, ia   October 13th, 2009 6:22 pm ET

In regards to the House and Senate, we need more people (with common sense, I might add),that will make decisions that are good for our great country.
The problem, as I see it, is that a 'chosen few' make decisions that are not using real common sense. They base their decisions on their part of our nation, which is not necessarily the best for everyone.
Let's face it, not all the people in politics from all parties have good common sense.

GI Joe   October 13th, 2009 6:22 pm ET

The "family values" group sure is setting a good example for their kids – hate, fear, lies.

smiff   October 13th, 2009 6:22 pm ET

GOP......why are they relavent? The dems can have any legislation they want for any reason at any time! Why are the Repubs even an issue? Why is Pelosi even compared to this man. She's trying to run an upfront honest candid government and has never stooped to such name calling! You'd think she was in the Bush admin and this was 2003! Maybe partisan tactics against the sitting admin have gone a bit too far. No one ever treated Bush and company this way. Right? Remember? Why is all this smoke coming from under my chair? My tummy hurts!

Florida Joe   October 13th, 2009 6:21 pm ET

Typical Repubs......get caught and "it was a mistake"

Jay T.   October 13th, 2009 6:18 pm ET

It's wrong because Hitler murdered six mililion Jewish people. And, the NeoCons are using that human tragedy to move forward their own agenda and character bash a member of the opposing party at the same time. Such events as an attempt to exterminate an entire people should not be used lightly.

Flem   October 13th, 2009 6:18 pm ET

Ummmm, nope. don't really see what the issue is.

Pelosi = sweet mama Adolf

Jay T.   October 13th, 2009 6:16 pm ET

Liberal4Obama   October 13th, 2009 6:16 pm ET

Republicans are the party of NO ideas and certainly NO class.

VK   October 13th, 2009 6:16 pm ET

It is an apt comparison. Liberals believe that fascism is different from liberalism, but the two are identical in the sense that they seek to take away the freedoms of people and grant absolute power to the government. It is no surprise that Hitler belonged to the Socialist Workers Party. Notice how the Democrats also align themselves with the unions (workers).

John Sweet   October 13th, 2009 6:14 pm ET

Bottom feeders. Absolutely no class, nothing to offer. They make offensive their mantra.

mike   October 13th, 2009 6:13 pm ET

Tsk. Where would the Republicants be without Hitler. Half their political strategy would be down the drain. Rush Limburger would actually have to apply brain power beyond that of a grade school name caller. The Republicant party should owe someone royalty fees to someone for their egregious use of Hitler to promote their platform.

Peggy - TX   October 13th, 2009 6:12 pm ET

The GOP is a sinking ship and they are grasping at straws to try and keep the really really stupid on board. They are increasingly shrill and nonsensical. They are trying to diminish President Obama, but they themselves have become the joke.

I always thought that the way Bush capitalized on American’s anger after the 9-11 attacks to use it as a pretext to go to war with Iraq was very Hitler like; but Pelosi, Hitler like – not even slightly. Pelosi is simply not effective enough to be any where Hitler like, but she is a good person with solid values, and her moral compass is pointed in the right direction, unlike any single Republican that I can think of.

dan smith   October 13th, 2009 6:12 pm ET

Actually the NAZI PARTY was a socialist party, that is where the word NAZI comes from, look it up. The socialists party in the U.S. is the Democrat Party so they weren't that far off the mark.

Debbie   October 13th, 2009 6:12 pm ET

I am just sick of division created and promoted by the GOP. It is no longer what party platform that you support. It is moved into a radical mode. I was part of the GOP for 35 years and left last year when the GOP no longer accepted those in the center. This summer the GOP ratched up the whole screaming and divisive issue of health care. Please GOP just stop! You are losing members left and right!

Gregory York   October 13th, 2009 6:10 pm ET

So how nice racists GOP. GOP is party of Nazis. I personally hate them.

J.P.   October 13th, 2009 6:02 pm ET

Don't care.

Republicans are in such minorities that Republicans can vote party line against ANY Democrat initiative and STILL not stop it.

Republicans don't even matter.

It is the socialist party that fails to get anything accomplished... which, ironically, speaks volumes about socialism itself... it succeeds at nothing. The only thing it spreads equally among the people is misery.

Why is anyone shocked? This is indicative of the current political situation in Washington. Can you say Rome near the end? It used to be that being a Senator or Congressperson involved respect and admiration for the other side. But now, both sides have taken the low-blows and dirty shots to a new level. Comparing anyone to Hitler is bad. The man was the epitome of evil. And that goes for the Dems as well. Was Bush a good POTUS? Not really. Will Obama be a good one? Who knows. None of us can see the future. But, if we continue to let hate and vitriol dictate our politics, we will certainly be doomed as a nation.

Stella   October 13th, 2009 6:01 pm ET

The Republicans "NO-MACHINE" works as a "HATE-MACHINE" also,
against women, against black people, against Democrats, etc...

So narrowed minded politicians, so full of hate, out of touch , limbaugh
style, corrupt, buying media, the worst of America.

They criticize the President for whatever he does, wherever he goes,
for, example, Michael Reese, don't you know what is the Nobel prize,
its significance, why are you talking about jobs... in its context ?

Put some knowledge in your brain!

Frank   October 13th, 2009 6:00 pm ET

Are the republicans so stupid as to do this? What a shallow bunch.

Joe   October 13th, 2009 5:59 pm ET

Wait a second I am confused. Socialism is a moderate form of Liberalism but it still strays farther left than our current Democratic Party.

Communism is extreme Liberalism where by theory everyone is equal.

Facism is extreme conservatism where as the ruler deems that he is destined to rule. Absolute Monarchies almost fall into this category with the association of Divine right. Rights and freedoms to an ultra conservative are dangerous.

So which one is it? Are they More Liberal than we have seen (still moderate on the Political scale) in Socialist? Or are they extremely conservative to the point where no one has rights or privledges because it is dangerous to those in power? (Facism).

Please get your ideologies straight before comparing Obama or Pelosi to Hitler. Too many different ideologies there.

Lynne   October 13th, 2009 5:57 pm ET

The Republican party is too late to come to realize that sitting back and watching the hateful rhetoric coming out of the mouths of their supporters right back to the earliest of the Palin rallies will beconme a huge political albatross as it is exposed more and more. Now thewy can be accused denying someone of their "free speech".

They were silent thinking it would hepl them tossing integrity out the window for political expediency; now it is coming back to bite them.

Lilarose in Bandon, OR   October 13th, 2009 5:56 pm ET

Comparing Pelosi to Hitler is unfair to Hitler. While he was a monster, he was nowhere near as sneaky and shifty as Pelosi.

stevetall   October 13th, 2009 5:51 pm ET

The scorched earth policy was no good when they started it and it has only torn America apart. But this does not stop them. This goes for liz chaney and her daddy too.

Most Americans are beginning to believe that the current Republican base is now made up of Hillbillies. All all of these comparisons to Hitler ect. Most, more than likely do not even understand what he really did.

The Bush Administration passes laws that would hint at laws passed in Germany in the 1930's, and the GOP has the unmitigated gall to compare Pelosi to Hitler?? Do these people have no sense of history?

How many of these idiots are in Washington? Everyone with the GOP?

Peoples Voice   October 13th, 2009 5:48 pm ET

yuri   October 13th, 2009 5:48 pm ET

We may have to make our own comparison of the whole GOP and the insurance trade group with hungry vultures.

Joanna   October 13th, 2009 5:48 pm ET

The Republican party compares anyone who disagrees with them (the lunatic fringe) to Hitler. It's become as laughably predictable as it is disgusting and contemptuous.

And to think I was a registered Republican for my first 15 or so voting years......what a disgrace they've become.

Sniffit   October 13th, 2009 5:48 pm ET

Best part? This is another battle with irony that the GOP has lost: if anything is actually analogous to Hitler's wanton destruction of life in pursuit of a sadistic goal, it's the insurance industry's reckless, selfishly randian, greed-inspired scrabbling for increasing profits at the expense of the very public it is supposed to serve...MONEY OVER LIFE...and the GOP's goering-esque sideshow in support of it.

Do they really think that suppressing the 'freedom of speech' will may Pelosi a better person in the eyes of the American taxpayer? Of course it won't, but then again, these people only want to look good. If she wants to stop this type of comparison she should listen to the criticism and change her ways! Oh, I forgot, they are politicians. All mouth and no ears, no brains, no common sense!

Joe Doctor, Austin   October 13th, 2009 5:41 pm ET

Yeah, the usual bully tactics of the GOP. When are you schoolyard loudmouths going to grow up and try to be helpful? That is simply pathetic on all fronts. And you wonder why your "brand" needs updating. Imagine if someone had painted a little black moustache on GWB – oh, the outrage would've shaken the airwaves for weeks. But it is ok for you to do it. It's okay for Pelosi to intimate that conservatives are Nazis. It's okay for various other elected Democrats to call conservatives thugs, a mob, insult us by referring to us with a term describing a sexual activity... but when on-elected Republicans call a Democrat something that you libs routinely called Bush, you have a hissy fit.

Gary's Opinion   October 13th, 2009 5:35 pm ET

Pelosi is extreme. Pelosi is a liar. Pelosi is mean at times. Her policies are wrong, her personality grading. She needs to be voted out of office so we can have a more reasonable moderate person lead the House...

But she's not evil and she's not as awful as Hitler. Both sides need to stop using these unfair comparisons to Hitler. Focus on the issues in debate not the personal attacks.

EJ in Texas   October 13th, 2009 5:34 pm ET

How many millions of Jews, Gypsies and other people did Pelosi kill?

How many lives did the war Pelosi started cause?
