DNC knocks Steele on his birthday

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele turned 51 on Monday.
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele turned 51 on Monday.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Monday marks the occasion of Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele's 51st birthday.

The RNC doesn't appear to have anything special planned.

But Democratic National Committee spokesman Hari Sevugan is celebrating with - what else? - a little snark.

"We're not Facebook friends, so I didn't know it was his birthday," Sevugan e-mailed CNN. "But he's given us so many gifts, I feel like we certainly owe him something."

That doesn't sound like much of a knock to me. Maybe CNN should save the inflammatory headlines. It's not like there's been some shortage of outrageous rhetoric lately, with more no doubt to come.

in the meantime, Happy Birthday Michael! With health care reform and a solid public option, who knows, maybe you'll get a chance to see 49 more :-)

51 years old and still not old enough to know when you are being used?

I guess even this kind of fame is okay to you? Nothing like being a "token" member of the Republicanknuckleheads. Gee, I hear you even let the gays in too.

    Whatever.

I accept the fact the Bush added to the deficit by giving money away to the banks. I hated that move. The truth is democrats hates it when anyone brings up the fact that their party tripled the deficit in 10 months! I hate that move too! How about you?

Why don't we all practice a conscious effort to avoid indulging in bad or harmful thoughts.

It's our personal responsibility about what is said and speak the truth with consideration for the feelings of others.

Why is Obama praised by the press and liberals as "historic" and groundbreaking while they allow and encourage "hate speech" against another black man Mr Steele) who shows class and leadership?

Creepy crawly...at 51 you surely look a little old there boy! Hmmm...I am 54 but my grays are not that obvious. No I know why those guys in SC call me boy; I should change parties so that I will look a little older.

Happy Birthday anyway...you are only 365 days older. Enjoy!

Oh how the liberals can be rude to a successful Republican.
Michael Steele looks great at 51, he's got the right message and he's on a roll. We are proud to have his leadership in the Republican party.

You know, if the DNC had made the 'facebook' comment and left it at that... it would have been all good. Gets the point across that you aren't friends, but does it in a very tongue in cheek manner.

Steele is laughable. How much longer before the Republicans kick him out?

As a birthday present to us, Mikey, can you get the Birthers to release Obama's Birth Certificate so that other Birthers can see it and shut up about it? Pretty please with sugar on it?

As a black male myself...Michael Steele is a disgrace. His comment about bringing the fried chicken to a party while speaking to some Republicans one time shows what a Uncle Tom he is. He is a disgrace to the black people.

he perpetuates stereotyping on his own race and the media enjoys capitalizing on this, that is why his birthday is being reported and leave your comment is available. Steele should hide along with Palin. they both will go away if the media ignore them.

You know when your friends don't specially like you when they plan your surprise party at the last minute, as an after thought.

Either way, you got your message. You are in the wrong party. or you have no friends in your party. what a shame.

Wow, a birther from Alabama. Maybe they can help Orly Taitz pay her $20,000 fine for ignorance. By the way, I have not seen Michael Steele's birth certificate, so maybe he is not 51.

  24. Too True For You

Yeah, being snarky is SUCH impressive politics. When republicans make it so incredibly easy to occupy and absolutely own the high road, why do idiots like this have to descend, even if only a little way to their level?

phoenix86, good to see you back. Too bad your incredibly short term memory has not improved, and neither has your all-too-conservative inability to accept any responsibility. I can only assume you are just another example of conservative fundamentalist education where science equals bible study. since you really have no grasp of the concept of "cause and effect", and definitely not Newtons third law. The rest of us understand that if someone makes a huge mess (re: 8 years of republican misrule), it takes a huge effort to clean it up.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why Michael Steele is the chair of the RNC, or whatever. He is a token symbol only, and the sad part about it is that he knows this truth. I'm sure it eats him up inside, but who else will accept him? He has some "issues" that he must work out soon. Any Black man that can condone the racist behavior of the Republican party, (not all of them), including the elected officials, is sick in the head, at best. At worst, it's stockholm syndrome. Debate and oppose President Obama's policies, but to personally attack him with such venom and hatred, Michael Steele, "what up with that"......you send the wrong message to the children of America. You can silence the racial hate, but you choose to ignore it. Why?
