WASHINGTON (CNN) - Monday marks the occasion of Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele's 51st birthday.
The RNC doesn't appear to have anything special planned.
But Democratic National Committee spokesman Hari Sevugan is celebrating with - what else? - a little snark.
"We're not Facebook friends, so I didn't know it was his birthday," Sevugan e-mailed CNN. "But he's given us so many gifts, I feel like we certainly owe him something."

Looks like the republicans don't like people talking a little trash about the biggest trash talker there is. CRAPPY BIRTHDAY steele!
Time will show Mr. Steele what his supporters really think of him, and his true friends will do the same. Man doesn't realized they are being used until they aren't needed anymore. Until the GOP secures a strong valid candidate, they will be sending Steele any and everywhere and then when they fall, blame him miserably. His book will outsell Palin's.
Mr. Steele is the best thing that happened to the Democratic Party in a long time.
As long as he talks, he is the gift that keeps on giving.
I especially like the deer caught in the headlights look.
Happy Birthday, but you need to realize that the GOP is using you. For you other GOP fools who are commenting Bush took eight years to make this mess and you expect it to be cleaned up in 10 months? Give me a break. You GOPer's really need to read a little more and quit hiding behind God to cover your hatred.
Don't worry, all you libs & Dems in fantasy land. You will get a wake-up call in Nov. in Va., and in fall 2010. PLEASE STAY IN DENIAL & CONTINUE YOUR SMEAR CAMPAIGN ON FOX NEWS & CONSERVATIVES. Its' great for the right side in our country.
Steele truly is the gift that just keeps on giving. His party doesn't even take him very seriously, so why should others? I can't wait for his next stupid comments! More than anything to me, he seems to be a man suffering from an inability to think before he speaks, but that also might apply to two thirds of their party leaders. I have heard nothing but inane rhetoric from them for over a year now. When will it end so that the two-party system does'nt completely fail in this country?
What about the gift of laughter.
Happy Birthday Mr. Steele! Keep on keeping on, and doing what you do best. Destroying the Republican party one day at a time with every sentence you speak. May you have many more years of this!
No need to knock a guy on his birthday. The DNC is just lowering itself to the RNC's level. Too bad.
Happy birthday Mr. Steele.
Steele should be thanking Obama that he has his job.
No Obama = no token negro oreo for the GOP
"what up" steele?
Happy birthday, Mr. Steele. My birthday wish for you is that you wake up tomorrow and realize how you are being used by the Party of No.
I think you are a decent guy and deserve better in life.
Well Sappy Birthday To Republicans Favorite Minion! "Uncle Tom!" Michael Steel.
So its Mr. Peanut's birthday. So what! Lets get some real news.
I heard he got a new Armani straight jacket. He's very particular about what he wears.
This guy is a Token Puppet!
marion/alabama, still harping on the birth certificate? That is so last April. Get a new reason to hate the president. Have a nice day!
The black face of the Republican Party. Did it work? Does the GOP have a more favorable rating amongst African-Americans or the egalitarian groups? It doesn't seem like it. Sorry Michael Steele, you're not as important as the GOP led you to believe.
DNC's gift is coming in 2010....How do you wrap "getting voted out"?
That is not good form. we may not like Steele, but there is no need to behave like a 12 year old about it.
Let him stay there, he is a gift to the Democrats! He and others like him is a garrentee of Obama’s re election.
When Mr Steel came to Akron to speak, the biggest impression I got from him was same old thing. I want change!!!
Too True For You........8 years, huh?
The economy was doing very well with less than 6% unemployment from 2001-2006.
What happened then? Democrats, Freddie and Fannie. There is your equal and opposite reaction. The housing market bust is on the Dems, not the Republicans.
We are still waiting for that huge effort to clean it all up. 30000 jobs created? Give Obama a cookie for me.
The Government does not create jobs. They create an environment for jobs to be created in the private sector. THAT what what conservatives’ do.
And not all Republicans and social conservatives, so leave the bible out of it.
Michael switch parties now, you are being made the scapegoat for the Grand Old Party.
