Romney hammers Obama on Iran negotiations

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Mitt Romney has a message for the Obama administration: Stop talking to Iran. Period.

"The Iranian leadership is the greatest immediate threat to the world since the fall of the Soviet Union, and before that, Nazi Germany," Romney said in a speech Monday to the pro-Israel group AIPAC at their national summit in San Diego, according to excerpts provided to CNN.

"The Iranian regime is unalloyed evil, run by people who are at once ruthless and fanatical," Romney said. "Stop thinking that a charm offensive will talk the Iranians out of their pursuit of nuclear weapons. It will not. And agreements, unenforceable and unverifiable, will have no greater impact here than they did in North Korea. Once an outstretched hand is met with a clenched fist, it becomes a symbol of weakness and impotence."

Romney - who has used a series of high-profile speeches to bolster his foreign policy profile in advance of a possible 2012 presidential bid - called on the United States to enact "comprehensive, withering sanctions" coupled with support for "the forces of freedom within Iran." He demanded that a "credible" military threat must remain on the table if Iranian leadership insists on threatening Israel with annihilation.

The former Massachusetts governor also blasted Obama for doing to much to accomodate Palestinian leadership in the pursuit of a peace process, while also placing an undue burden on Israel, "America's most ardent ally in the Middle East."

"The notion that Hamas and violent jihadists are motivated by 'shared interests' and 'common goals' is naïve in the extreme and dangerous to the entire free world," Romney said.

But Obozo and Hillary said if we would just "talk nice", IRAN would play nice.

I prefer the BUSH plan, yes I said the BUSH plan. GIve them sactions and a reaonsble deadline to cooperate. When the dealine expires, take more agressive action.

Considering that Hillary FAILED in her job to get Russia's support on sactions agains Iran, I guess we are going to have to wait for Israel to do the tough job.

Who cares what Mittens has to say? I mean, really? The GOP loves losers. Once you lose in the Democratic Party, you don't get to come back. This isn't the Miss USA pageant. I guess we have more people to choose from.

Mitt, you're right. The U.S. doesn't have enough to do with its military right now. What we need to do is to gin up a good war with Iran and maybe get bogged down for the next couple of decades.

Of course, there's no chance we'd reach a waterloo point and LOSE, fighting a fanatical population in a huge country completely around the world from us.

So shut down talks and prepare for war! It's the Mitt Romney way. Go get 'em.

Obviously a graduate of the George W. Bush School of Diplomacy.

I'm sure this will appeal to the far-right, but how does Romney think that it will play with war-weary moderates and independents?

But Romney does not know anything. He is too stupid to have a meaningful opinion. His comments just indicate that he is not a loyal citizen of the United States, willing to say anything to get elected.

Yeah, right, you've got the answers Romney, it's just that your face scares the beejeezus out of people, thus no one wants to have a sit down with you. No, seriously, Mittens, if you're serious about offering solutions to the POTUS call in for a private sit down with him. But you're not serious, AND you have no solutions all you want to do is blast him in soundbites because you feel super-intelligent in your special tighty-whities. Give us a break!

Romeny is not qualified regarding foreign polciy. Unless China and Russia join in the so-called withering sanctions, the sanctions will not be withering. He does not seem to get that reality. As far as no negotions, that is back to the Bush years which resovled nothing and was a complete failure. In the end, all we get form Romeny is political posturing, nothing more.

WELL, , , WE KNOW THE METHOD ROMNEY IS SUGGESTING WON'T WORK BECAUSE IT IS THE SAME POLICIES USED BY BUSH-CHENEY FOR THE PREVIOUS 8-YEARS.

The Obama-Biden Leadership has been in office for less than 10-months. In that short period nations around the world have begin to un-clinch their fist and thaw their hearts towards American ideals. There are signs Obama & Biden are on to something, and I am not interested in going back to the old failed Bush-Cheney doctrine of "empty bluster, threats, and arrogance" which is the same doctrine Romney subscribes.

Obama is in way over his head, that why he is out there campaigning, a lot easier than running the country. Too bad his ego go the best of him and he decided to run for president. Too bad Americans were to blind sided for the promise of all the freebies the government would provide them. Too bad Obama can no longer vote "present" and call it a day.

Oh really, I am so glad these Republicans are not in power, I can't imagine the damage they would caused or has caused if I may...

8 Years of George Bush's philosophy got us where.....?

Don't forget John McCains singing of Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran, oh and don't forget Sarah Palins assertions during the campagne that we may have to go to war with Iran and Russia......

I pray that God not protect us from Russia and Iran, but that he protects us and the world from the Republicans.....!

That's just plain stupid. If this guy considers running for the office he should understand that you should never stop talking. Talking is your job! If you have to send the military to do their job it means that you have failed doing your job!
