Palin will talk to Oprah Winfrey the day before her memoir hits bookstores.

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Sarah Palin will sit down with Oprah Winfrey the day before her new memoir hits bookstores, Harpo announced Tuesday.

The former Alaska governor will make the appearance on Oprah on November 16 to talk about her highly anticipated tell-all, "Going Rogue: An American Life."

Palin has never before appeared on the popular daytime talk show. Last December, Winfrey said she had invited her on the show to discuss the election, but suggested at the time that Palin had instead chose other interviewers.

"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over... I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn't talk to me," Oprah told the show Extra last year.

It's all about money.................for both of these women....I won't be watching, not that I watch O anyway..............money is the root of all evil........

Obama Fan   October 20th, 2009 4:26 pm ET

Earth calling Oprah, come in Oprah...Nobody cares about Sarah Palin!

Dean   October 20th, 2009 4:25 pm ET

Please please make this woman go away.

ladonna   October 20th, 2009 4:24 pm ET

Knowing how "in love" Oprah is with Obama, I can only imagine what questions she will ask Sarah Palin. Hope it's something along the line of the questioning that Obama got, like, "gee, when did you know that you loved Michelle?" yeah, the really "tough" questions that the liberal media slammed his way. HaHa. And for all of you who "hate" Sarah Palin, moan and groan and cry as you well, she is NOT going away. Like it or lump it. Just know that as much as you despise Sarah Palin, we on the right, feel that same way about Obama.

masdawg   October 20th, 2009 4:24 pm ET

.....and like a bad penny.........

Fairfax Patriot   October 20th, 2009 4:23 pm ET

"Rogue": (from the on-line version of Merriman-Webster)

"vagrant, tramp; a dishonest or worthless person; scoundrel; an individual exhibiting a chance and usually inferior biological variation"

It seems to fit, but maybe she meant "Going Rouge"????

lil man   October 20th, 2009 4:23 pm ET

oh great. This is gonna be a good comedy! Get your popcorn ready folks, because that Palin lady is gonna do alot of gaffling in her interview. This gonna be better than comedy at the Punchline. That lady is good for laughs!

Tom from Grand Rapids   October 20th, 2009 4:23 pm ET

Oprah is lucky to get this interview. Palin didn't go on Oprah before because Oprah showed where her true values lie when she got involved in her first political campaign ever! Oprah needs to stop whining when she doesn't always get what she wants!

Be Kind   October 20th, 2009 4:23 pm ET

With about one million FB supporters, a few more are coming as a result of this interview; plus, a number of messages will be passed on to O, her audience and the WH. Get ready, the show has just started.

Thomas, AK   October 20th, 2009 4:22 pm ET

Palin is trying to make money... but it should be interesting, I bet she will be scripted and they made an agreement for Palin to just talk and not answer questions. I thought she was too busy with those 1000 request that comes in to Meg daily. LoL

SkiDoc   October 20th, 2009 4:21 pm ET

Can hardly wait for the libs to go nuts over WHATEVER she says. Go Sarah!!

Rich   October 20th, 2009 4:21 pm ET

It is really sad to see that Oprah is going to help this nut case sell some books. What was Oprah thinking?

Dar   October 20th, 2009 4:20 pm ET

Well this should be good, an Odumbo lover and Palin in the same room. LET THE CAT FIGHT BEGIN.

Gregg   October 20th, 2009 4:19 pm ET

Get used to it libs; Sarah Palin isn't going anywhere, and she will become your worst nightmare.

Ric in PA   October 20th, 2009 4:19 pm ET

Oh good, another chance for her to embarass herself. She ought to know that before Oprah was a "celeb", she was a serious reporter in Baltimore, and an anchor on the WJZ television news. Palin ought to study hard for this one. It's gonna be like Katie Couric all over again.

AntiRush   October 20th, 2009 4:19 pm ET

Maybe Oprah can explaint to her what Rogue means.

Joe   October 20th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

This should be funny. I miss Sarah Palin, the 'gosh darnets' and 'I can see.......Russia, from Alaska',....and 'New-Clear'. And I have to give conservatives credit; while they love bashing anyone demorat or liberal, I have yet to hear anyone talk about what would've been had the McCain/Palin ticket won office.

What a scary thought. That's not funny.

Fed Up   October 20th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

Big mistake. Oprah is as liberal as they get. I quit watching her several years ago.

jane   October 20th, 2009 4:17 pm ET

The whole thing makes me shudder.

Jim, San Antonio   October 20th, 2009 4:17 pm ET

Better not ask any really hard questions like Katie did. I suggest: (1) Can you really see Russia from your house? (2) What does moose taste like? (3) Will you get even dumber when you get old and senile?

Military Mom   October 20th, 2009 4:17 pm ET

Please tell Mrs. Palin the correct way to wear the Blue Star Pin ... down like a flag – not crossways!

charlie   October 20th, 2009 4:16 pm ET

Sarah needs to pull a Michelle and give her a list of questions that she can only ask.

Lisa   October 20th, 2009 4:16 pm ET

there goes Oprah's ratings. right down the toilet

S.B. Stein E.B. NJ   October 20th, 2009 4:16 pm ET

Well, more of the country can see why Palin isn't fit to lead much of anyone. I think she should really re-evaluate what her ideals are and read up on some history about the US. I hope that Palin stutters with answers like she did during the other interviews she had (Katie Couric anyone?).

Laurie in Spokane   October 20th, 2009 4:16 pm ET

I'm sooooo sick of that woman!!!

R   October 20th, 2009 4:15 pm ET

i guess that means the sales will be off the chart.

Kate   October 20th, 2009 4:15 pm ET

Now no one really wants to talk to Palin so she chose Oprah for her big come back. There is one show I will gladly miss.

Carl   October 20th, 2009 4:14 pm ET

GO SHARA! Don't let Oprah bully you.Defend yourself afgainst a bias Oprah.

Cr. Wa.   October 20th, 2009 4:13 pm ET

Oprah, what do you have for a back up plan in case she is a no show?

Brady   October 20th, 2009 4:13 pm ET

Well, of course...now she has a chance to boost her sales...it's all about the bottom line

not alone   October 20th, 2009 4:12 pm ET

In what way is Palin a big interview?

Tommygunn   October 20th, 2009 4:11 pm ET

CASHING IN..... this is going to be Sarah's biggest draw yet on the MONEY......good for her.......

Oprah is all about communication and being a part of America.

I would image the "political haters" out there on both sides will draw their ugly conclusions as they did when Oprah stated she wouldn't hold interviews until after the elections.

Let's just hope the "Republicans that were haters" last year now have a different view than last year in the heat of the elections.

Sammy   October 20th, 2009 4:11 pm ET

Oprah said she would sit with Palin AFTER the election, but yet she not only sat but campaigned with Obama DURING the election, Oprah has never endorsed a candidate until Obama, could it be because he is black? I think so.... Oprah is a racist.

Frank, Las Vegas   October 20th, 2009 4:10 pm ET

The key here is November 16th. That's gives her plenty of time to back out. I'm sure we'll be seeing some reason in the future why she has to cancel the interview. This woman is a complete joke.

naomi   October 20th, 2009 4:09 pm ET

This woman has no clue. I hope she gets reduced by Oprah!!

Peter   October 20th, 2009 4:08 pm ET

Who lobbied for her, Karl Rove?

zali   October 20th, 2009 4:08 pm ET

aaaah, that's huge!

John J, IN   October 20th, 2009 4:08 pm ET

Oh goodie, another chance for Barbie to completely embarass herself on national TV.

You know they are dumb when they don't even realize how dumb they are.

Mar   October 20th, 2009 4:07 pm ET

Why are you giving her the time of the day? This is the person who used all those crazy scare tactics at the time of election. Why do you think people still talk about socialim? It's all because of her ....

Please let her disappear!!!!

MikQuick   October 20th, 2009 4:07 pm ET

Sorry Oprah, I'll have to miss that show. Something more relevant will come up I am sure...like a class on how to best trim my toenails for fall/winter footwear.

A.B.   October 20th, 2009 4:07 pm ET

Who cares if anyone talks with Sarah Palin?? Why should Oprah care?? There are more other interesting people for Oprah and other talk show hosts to talk to than Palin. Enough with Palin!! My advise to Oprah and other media hosts, Get over Sarah Palin and find someone else to focus on!! Focus on someone who is intelligent, thoughtful, well read, well traveled and is very knowledgeable about national and world affairs. Forget Sarah Palin!!

William in San Jose   October 20th, 2009 4:06 pm ET

Ooooooooh boy................

Talk about a softball interview. I wonder if Sarah will quit the interview?

Snarla   October 20th, 2009 4:06 pm ET

I hope she asks her how many ghostwriters it took to write that book.

Nini   October 20th, 2009 4:06 pm ET

I am not Palin supporter but fair is fair.

Palin shouldn’t have accepted to talk to you this time either.
You gave the platform to Obama but not Palin or McCain but you did give it to Obama.

Why? Because he was black. Or because he was the savior of the world?

Diesel   October 20th, 2009 4:05 pm ET

I hope Katie Couric is a guest host the same day. It would be a hoot to see her and Sarah reunited again. I loved thier last interview. HAHAHA

ivote   October 20th, 2009 4:05 pm ET

Correction.......Will She show up? I bet NO unless she is hoping OPRAH will put her book in the Oprah Book club.

pat   October 20th, 2009 4:05 pm ET

Who cares what she has to say??

Ted White   October 20th, 2009 4:04 pm ET

I've never watched Oprah. I guess I won't start anytime soon.

Sgt. USMC   October 20th, 2009 4:03 pm ET

Get her Oprah!

Lynn   October 20th, 2009 4:03 pm ET

Now that Palin needs someone respectable to hawk her book, she's got the time for Oprah. Oprah is too smart not to see through the facade, unless it's a good time to remind and show the Country what a simple mind Palin really has.

bess   October 20th, 2009 4:03 pm ET

will be interesting to see how Oprahbama treats her 'guest'

jrzshor   October 20th, 2009 4:02 pm ET

oh my god, she didn't talk to ophra first.

oh the shame of it.

Mary Perfater   October 20th, 2009 4:02 pm ET

I hope Oprah gives Sarah Palin a chance to talk openly and be herself. I have noticed most people just poke at her and don't let her be herself. Oprah is usually fair minded.

Phil   October 20th, 2009 4:02 pm ET

Oprah didn't want her billions of housewives to get to know Palin prior to the election because her boy Obama may lose votes to her.

Reagan was wrong   October 20th, 2009 4:01 pm ET

Intelligent women (Hillary Clinton, Katie Couric) are Sarah Palin's kryptonite. This will be an interesting interview, provided Sarah Palin doesn't cancel at the last minute.

Ron Abfalter   October 20th, 2009 4:01 pm ET

The train wreck continues. When will our society wake up and just walk away from Sarah.

David   October 20th, 2009 4:00 pm ET

You really expect us to believe this woman is intelligent enough to write a book?

Can you say ghostwriter boys and girls? Sure, I knew you could!

PT   October 20th, 2009 4:00 pm ET

Oprah could do us all a favor by recinding her invitation. WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THIS NOBODY!

J.Orange   October 20th, 2009 4:00 pm ET

Can't wait for that interview.

Is it 2012yet?   October 20th, 2009 4:00 pm ET

Time for the Palin haters to come out, oops, you are home watching Oprah as you voted for Obambi and don't work and the truth, facts and Fox news don't sit too well in your little worlds.

The first one of you that has run a city, a state and a business, balanced a BUDGET at home or at work, can start hammering her, say, that would leave out Obama as well...

Please send this to the Obambi rat squad, I look forward to Axelfraud and "The fish" contacting me, I love schooling fools that think they are smart.

Today's media minus the number one source all say "All the news that's fit to omit".

Vitajex   October 20th, 2009 4:00 pm ET

And here, scientists were worried about the Hadron Collider when what will really cause the universe to collapse in on itself is when Oprah and 'White Oprah' meet...

"Everybody in the audience gets a free rape kit! Just kidding, you have to pay for it..."

kathie slo   October 20th, 2009 3:59 pm ET

"O" have you lost your mind???

Hm   October 20th, 2009 3:59 pm ET

Sarah is very entertaining in the villain-sort of way. I wouldn't mind if she lands her own talk show on Fox News (probably because I don't watch Fox News).

ivote   October 20th, 2009 3:58 pm ET

Will sha show up? I bet NO

ronnie6477   October 20th, 2009 3:58 pm ET

Sarah, Please cancel this this interview. Oprah will only use it against you. You should not degrade yourself to Oprah's level on mentality.

Diane in Kennewick WA   October 20th, 2009 3:57 pm ET

That's one day I won't be watching Oprah

ADH   October 20th, 2009 3:57 pm ET

CK   October 20th, 2009 3:56 pm ET

Looks like Lauren Kornreich skewed the reporting of the facts on this one? Was it not Oprah who refused to have Palin? Now Lauren is crafting the words to make it appear as if Oprah was the one who was dissed! Read carefully how Lauren twists what happen to create an entirely different impression! Oprah blocked Palin from access to her media and publically insulted Palin further by telling her to come back after the election (even though Oprah was actively using her media access to influence the election for other candidates). Amazing how "reporter" "journalist" Lauren misses informing her readers about that.

http://twitter.com/whybs   October 20th, 2009 3:56 pm ET

Who says bipartisanship is only lip service! :)

Palin, Forget about your book. To make as much money as Oprah does, demand your own show! To average folks, beauty beats knowledge hands down!

Simmy   October 20th, 2009 3:55 pm ET

Oprah would sell her soul for ratings.....I'll take a pass on her and Hong Kong Sue.....

Rebecca   October 20th, 2009 3:55 pm ET

Funny how Oprah tops the list when there's a book to sell. Guess Oprah's support of Obama just doesn't matter any more - like the people of Alaska.

Jim   October 20th, 2009 3:55 pm ET

(yawn)

like we didn't expect this?

not news.

Big Ed   October 20th, 2009 3:54 pm ET

A soft interview and another opportunity to peddle her coloring book. SO WHAT??

will Oprah have read her book?   October 20th, 2009 3:53 pm ET

and will we find out that she has caught Palin in lies and inaccuracies and a tearful Palin will admit it, not unlike Oprah's last confession from a novelist

no, Palin had nothing to do with writing this book, can she even write?

Palin Schmalin   October 20th, 2009 3:53 pm ET

Highly anticipated? Like the swine flu?? HAHAHAHA.

Doc in Virginia   October 20th, 2009 3:52 pm ET

Gee....only for her book sales...What a mercenary.

Monica   October 20th, 2009 3:52 pm ET

Why would she not want to talk to Oprah now? The woman knows how to get her book sell.

Real-Repub   October 20th, 2009 3:52 pm ET

O goodie. an irrelevant wannabe and an overexposed TV personality. I can't wait. (NOT)

proud dem in nc   October 20th, 2009 3:51 pm ET

Please... She's only talking to Oprah because she wants publicity for her book. She refused Oprah's earlier requests to go on the show, but now that the book is coming out, all of a sudden she's willing to talk. She is SOOOOO transparent. What a phony!!

BillyBobTomRedcracker   October 20th, 2009 3:50 pm ET

I hope Ms. Winfrey has the backbone to ask this idiot about all the lies that she told (and continues to tell) during the campaign of 2008. This supposed college graduate (Palin) loved to try to putdown President Obama's social work as a community organizer while she was stumbling through school. Funny how she never mentioned that he was President of the Harvard Law Review and went on to teach constitutional law at the University of Chicago not to mention being elected to the U.S. Senate. All this criticism from someone who barely made it through Jr. College.

johnmccain   October 20th, 2009 3:50 pm ET

She is going to cancel it... Hah...

Just Breathe   October 20th, 2009 3:50 pm ET

Unless Palin had a brain transplant, even Oprah can't make her seem interesting enough for me to watch the interview. (eye rolling)

Tom   October 20th, 2009 3:50 pm ET

Of course, like all other interviews, she'll not answer any questions. She'll certainly think Oprah's picking on her.

republicans hate america   October 20th, 2009 3:50 pm ET

interesting now that she needs to sell a book that liberal media is important to palin.

Penny   October 20th, 2009 3:49 pm ET

Sarah Palin certainly doesn't need Oprah to sell her new book – unlike most authors – but she is certainly smart to tap into Oprah's viewers and followers. She's much smarter than most people give her credit for. She's just beginning...

shidley   October 20th, 2009 3:49 pm ET

Op, why are you giving this woman the airtime? Geez. Hasn't America had enough of this whacko?

Angie   October 20th, 2009 3:49 pm ET

Knock her sock off, Sarah!! We love you!!

Carole   October 20th, 2009 3:48 pm ET

Sarah Palin truly goes to the highest bidder. Gee, do ya think Oprah's Book Club is not on her pea brain?

I will be sick if Oprah admits this junk to her book club. What an insult to the previous true authors of great works.

Lorianne   October 20th, 2009 3:48 pm ET

Last December, Winfrey said she had invited her on the show to discuss the election, but suggested at the time that Palin had instead chose (SIC) other interviewers.

CHOSEN TO DO

Please, if you are a reporter, learn to use the language properly.

dorothy   October 20th, 2009 3:47 pm ET

Sarah Palin was right not to have an interview with Oprah

Oprah would not have been nice to her

Now Sarah will know how to respond to her

how nice   October 20th, 2009 3:47 pm ET

I'm guessing Oprah will have some nice pillow clad questions to toss her way. Nothing hard hitting like: "What do you read?"

That would be totally unfair to ask.

"What Supreme Court decisions do you disagree with?" Oh man, who would dare to say such a thing to Mrs. Palin.

Here's one that I'd like to ask: "How do you rationalize quitting your job when the military can't quit their job?" SP cites the military in the most obscure ways so I think she should have to answer to the comparison herself.

Mike from Florida   October 20th, 2009 3:46 pm ET

Good for you Citizen Palin. You are free to say and do as you like. I actually like her thoughts and opinions. It does appear she has hidden agenda's like most other Politicians. She didn't go to school to be a politician like most the ego maniacs sitting in the Whitehouse and in the Capitol Building. Professional politicians.

Jim Q.   October 20th, 2009 3:46 pm ET

Is it really a "tell-all"?

Levi the Lech   October 20th, 2009 3:45 pm ET

See and hear "Caribou Barbie". See "Caribou Barbie" rake in the dought. See the stupid American public spend money on a book she couldn't write. Wow, happy aren't we?

Doug, New Jersey   October 20th, 2009 3:45 pm ET

Wow, to go on a show where the host has a disgusting hatrid of you for your core beliefs and values, on top of that for exposing truths about her socialist friend, Mrs. Palin has guts.

Many women watch Oprah and with Palin on the show, it is time to disguss the real sexism in America, that which is inflicted upon conservative females by all Democrats, their bllod thirsty dishonest lib media and indoctrination institutions once known as our school system. To see groups like NOW, who claim to stand for womens rights, go out of their way to join in on the hate against Sarah Palin for being a women of integrity, decency and family values, aka a conservative, brings light the true intentions of all these groups who say they are for advancing the lives of women, gays, and minorities, when what they really stand for is destroying America, making the people slaves to a dictator, and taking away our rights, freedoms and wealth.

RJN   October 20th, 2009 3:45 pm ET

I would not give Oprah the time of day.
When the campaign was on she only wanted Obama and said she was not going to make a political statement on her show.
So why does she want to now????

Amy   October 20th, 2009 3:45 pm ET

Perhaps that's because Oprah has been blinded by the communist light. Of course Palin would not grant her an interview. She CAMPAIGNED against her. Literally.

Carlos L. Harrisburg PA   October 20th, 2009 3:44 pm ET

Only one reason she will be in the Oprah show. To sell her book.

Linda   October 20th, 2009 3:44 pm ET

I'd rather watch Hanna Montana!!!!

Alaskim   October 20th, 2009 3:44 pm ET

Sarah, the quitter. Oprah will hopefully not pander to our "hot" past Governor; making sure that her interview is meaningful and intense.

Louis   October 20th, 2009 3:44 pm ET

Palin–an obscure and not very bright politician only made famous because an over-the-hill candidate desperately tried to revive his failing presidential bid. Her book should be titled "Going Rogue: How I Quit the Governorship to Make Money From a Ghost-Written book called Going Rogue."

Darlene   October 20th, 2009 3:44 pm ET

Well I won't be watching Oprah on that day. If I wanted to watch cartoons I would switch to the Cartoon Channel. More "You betcha" wink wink!

Felonious Monk   October 20th, 2009 3:43 pm ET

She does not know what it is to be American. She does not have a clue about America.

Brenda   October 20th, 2009 3:42 pm ET

Whatever – 'big interview'? it's called publicity. Oprah is hardly going to be a 'hard' interview for her.

I admit – I am guilty for following your posts about her – but then again, during Britney's trainwreck – I was always at TMZ.

Bill   October 20th, 2009 3:42 pm ET

Obama is reading Books.
While Cheney, Bush and Palin are writing Books.

Actually Cheney, Bush and Palin are the ones who never read Books, and now trying to write Books. What a Joke.

Cheney, Bush and Palin are biggest Jokes in America.

Well, now Oprah knows how Fox news must have felt when Obama slighted them.......she can quit crying now.

RAC - Illinois   October 20th, 2009 3:40 pm ET

That is an interview that I would dearly love to watch. However the dilemma would be, if I watch it, it would boost the ratings, and then perhaps that would be a false signal.... I am not much on sensationalism in the media, but I think I am ready for another dose of humble pie for Palin.... Wait, I don't think she ever really got it..... It was always someone else's fault that she looked bad....

Rocky   October 20th, 2009 3:40 pm ET

I just have one question WHY SHOULD WE CARE?

jay in denver   October 20th, 2009 3:40 pm ET

Oprah, have your Wasillian dictionary, on the handy. Palinese is difficult to understand.

Democrats are so HONEST   October 20th, 2009 3:39 pm ET

She's such a cat-toy.

Don in Boca Raton   October 20th, 2009 3:38 pm ET

Beverly - NYC   October 20th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

Miss Oprah should get a back up guest for that day, she will probably cancel and her publicist will claim it was not a firm committment. Since Rush is still smarting about his NFL rejection he might whisper in her ear for some payback.

Bill Sampson   October 20th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

No one has any shame any more. Sarah Palin wants to hawk her ghost written book and Oprah wants to shore up her declining ratings.

Just turn the television off and do something useful with your time.

Beyond Absurd   October 20th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

The brainless and clueless are lining up all over America, breathlessly waiting for the life changing "tell all" tales of the wise and humble half-term governor of Alaska and Wingnut of the North. No wonder our country is becoming a second level world power.

Carlos   October 20th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

Debbie from VA   October 20th, 2009 3:37 pm ET

Do we really care what this woman has to say?

John   October 20th, 2009 3:35 pm ET

Every Human who is born on Earth has a Value.

1. Some have a Value of being a Doctor.
2. Some have a Value of being a Plumber.
3. Some have a Value of being a Janitor.
4. Some have a Value of being a Truck Driver.
5. And Some have a Value called "Nuisance Value"

The Person at # 5 is always a Nuisance to Everybody, including to people from 1 through 4.

Sarah Palin belongs to Category # 5.

radioactive   October 20th, 2009 3:34 pm ET

and I care because??????????????

CBR   October 20th, 2009 3:34 pm ET

Interesting set of events. it is nice that Ms. Palin will be interviewed by Ms. Winfrey and she will probably get Ms. Winfrey's support for her book.

Since leaving the governor's office Ms. Palin has written a book and will appear on the Oprah Show. She has also twittered and put any number of her ideas on Face Book. However, she has not given interviews or allowed us the opportunity to speak with her about her writings.

Sid   October 20th, 2009 3:34 pm ET

Oprah, get over it. Will you treat her fairly? I don't expect you to like her or faun over her like the "View" did Obama, but she deserves some respect and not Couric disdain.

DaveMcc   October 20th, 2009 3:34 pm ET

Sarah the Red against Oprah the Blue ... I'm surprised she will even fly to that Socialist wormhole known as Chicago ...lol ... An hour of TV on Sarah ... after 2 mins, I expect crickets to be sounding ...

RNC = DNC = politics as usual   October 20th, 2009 3:33 pm ET

Oprah: "I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over..."

What a hypocrite – she said she wouldn't interview candidates BUT Obama was different he got the personal promotion and the "He is THE ONE" speech from Oprah.

How can someone state a policy then do something different ?- oh wait – Oprah, Obama, hmmmmmmmm.

E   October 20th, 2009 3:33 pm ET

Too bad Oprah doesn't ask tough questions.

This woman should not be getting any more attention, all she does is promote extreme ignorance and hate.

I am still shocked that people still think 7 yrs at a junior college are equal or greater than Harvard Law and a decade as a constitutional law professor...

Diane Verney   October 20th, 2009 3:33 pm ET

It's disappointing that Oprah would lower herself and give Palin any air time to push her book. Shame on Oprah! At the very least I hope she pulls a Katie Couric and blasts her on something she should know. I will not be watching Oprah that day.

Diane
Edgewater, MD

I hope Opra eats her alive...   October 20th, 2009 3:32 pm ET

OH this could be interesting. Hopefully Oprah won't give her any slack. Hopefully she will prove once and for all that Ms Palin will never be politically correct.

Jim   October 20th, 2009 3:32 pm ET

Oprah is going to make her look like a fool and she wont even know what hit her!

But it doesn't take much to make Palin look foolish.

La Chatte   October 20th, 2009 3:31 pm ET

I wonder if Orpah will pander as usual. Maybe she'll get a Miss Wasila '82 wig like she did when Tina Turner was on her show or drool on her like she does on the Obamas, or maybe she'll explain how she has to stick her nose into things she knows little about and doesn't take the time to fact -check like she does with books and child molesters in her school. Perhaps she can get The Rogue Wonder to go on the road with her to try to convince the world that Chicago would be a groovy place to hold the Olympics.

Or maybe she could just shut up! That would be significant change!

Rob   October 20th, 2009 3:31 pm ET

Big deal.

Tanbiker2   October 20th, 2009 3:30 pm ET

Ugh, Palin on Oprah. Oprah's really going downhill fast.

If Oprah picks this book for her Book Club, I'll puke. I'm surprised Oprah is lowering herself to Palin's level. Disappointing. I guess ratings matter. But will people be tuning in to listen or for comedy relief?

well all you sara haters can look forward to nov. 16,,2009 . say how stupid she is call her all the bad names you can think of .She will enjoy the help to sell her book. Let hope MSNBC NBC CBS ABC will help with the name calling. Fox will back sara if the white house has not bar them from being a new station. also the supreme court may rule on the right of the poor people in cuba so you all can bash bush some more. the thing that happen on 9/11/01 will be put on the back burner and we may pay the intern people some money for holding them with our cause.

Sarah Palin is all about making the big buck and she will step on anyone that gets in her way.

Sarah again will look bad and blame the poor interview on the tough nail-biting questions from Oprah.

Rick in AZ   October 20th, 2009 3:26 pm ET

I hope Sarah has read "her" book so she can talk about it to Oprah

Khristina   October 20th, 2009 3:26 pm ET

Fantastic! I can't WAIT to watch this train wreck. I smell another Tina Fey guest spot on SNL.

General Tendency   October 20th, 2009 3:25 pm ET

I believe Oprah will be courteous and non-combative, and Sarah will get a chance to broaden her appeal. I think Oprah's ratings will soar, and a good percentage of her audience will give Sarah more respect in the future. A win-win situation for all concerned!

themoi   October 20th, 2009 3:25 pm ET

Wonderful. Filling an hour of airtime with hot air to promote a book that is full of hot air. If we don't have global warming now we surely will after that. Who wants to hear her empty chatter?

Larry   October 20th, 2009 3:25 pm ET

Oprah ... you are simply being used by the Palin system to promote her book

I hope your ratings DUMP on that day, but I doubt they will, your devotees are exactly that, and it is a shame you have now allowed yourself and your following to be used by this loser

Palin will use anyone she can for her self promotion

Libertarian   October 20th, 2009 3:25 pm ET

Perfect venue for a book release. She won't get asked any tough questions with Oprah. Like the REALLY tough question Katie Couric asked "Ms. Palin, could you name any case brought before the Supreme Court other than Roe v. Wade?" Tough question for the person running to UPHOLD THE CONSTITUTION, right? And for the first person who can tell me the Supreme Courts ROLE in the judicial system I'll give you a biscuit. LOL

Anthony   October 20th, 2009 3:23 pm ET

This woman is now old news... please stop ramming her down our throats...
She had her chance to "tell all" and instead, she chose to hide from the public and blame her short comings on the media.

Brian   October 20th, 2009 3:23 pm ET

Sounds like Opra is a bit jealous that Sarah didn't come on her show earlier.

Steve   October 20th, 2009 3:23 pm ET

OMG! Well, obviously she is just selling books. So, who tears up first? I bet Palin sheds one. "Oh, poor me, how wrong I was treated. It was so hard on me and my family. I love my little baby... tear, tear..."

Oh, please... just go away.

Actually though, the more popular she is the more RIDICULOUS the GOP looks. So, I take that back. I hope her book is a best seller for many months. What better way to divide the country and make the GOP look even more fanatical than they already are.

But I have to say, I am a bit disappointed in Oprah :(

susanj   October 20th, 2009 3:23 pm ET

I will never watch Oprah again.

Jose   October 20th, 2009 3:22 pm ET

Oprah will expose this idiot and make her a mocking bird.

Lori in St Pete   October 20th, 2009 3:22 pm ET

Wait a minute! I thought the uptight right despised Oprah. What the heck is the dim bulb going on HER show for? Maybe she needs to score some points with her "base" by claiming that mean ol' Oprah and the "lefty" media made her look bad again.

gl, From Pittsburgh   October 20th, 2009 3:22 pm ET

CNN HAVE BEEN THE MOUTH PIECE FOR SARA PALIN.
HOW CARES. I don't watch Oprah anyway and she is going to be easy on Sara Palin becasue of their past run in.

Jamie from Riverside   October 20th, 2009 3:21 pm ET

Don't anybody hold their breath waiting for this interview. Like most of her prior announced appearances, either she or her assistants wiill profess, just before the date, another scheduling mix-up and then won't show.

JA/TN   October 20th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

Oprah, what wrong ratings slipping, or are you crazy, in don King's words "Only in America" anything sells, who's reading the book, what's left to tell

luva the scissors   October 20th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

ophra didn't want her on her show because she was buddies with obama, she didn't want a strong female candidate on her show to possible sway voters away from him.

john   October 20th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

I cant wait not to read her 5th grade memoir

Peace   October 20th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

Soon the real world will be up-side-down. Limbaugh and Sarah are turning to those they thought they will never have to!

Puff the Magic Dragon   October 20th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

She probably didnt talk to Oprah because Oprah is intelligent, well spoken, and can pick off a phony at 10 paces. She calls a spade a spade. This would intimidate Sarah and expose her for the fraud she is.
This will be a very interesting interview, just watching Oprah take her down verbally. And the fun thing is, Oprah can do it and nobody will realize whats happening. She is a master of the art. Who better to practice on than Sarah Palin? I'll definitely Tivo this one.

confused   October 20th, 2009 3:20 pm ET

Why would anyone WANT to talk to Palin? What a joke.

Patricio   October 20th, 2009 3:19 pm ET

At least the poster child of the party of no new ideas is finally being honest about something...it's all about the money! That's why she quit her office, that's why she "wrote" an "autobiography", and that's why she's goin' on Oprah. $$$$$!!! I wish all Republicans were as honest as Sarah Palin. Instead they tell us it's about freedom, values, God, etc...rubbish! It's all about the Benjamins, baby.

Jeeze   October 20th, 2009 3:15 pm ET

Well, that's a real disappointment. In any case I have never watched Oprah's show, having other things to do, like being a contributing member of society instead of at home glued to "Daytime TV," but any respect I once might have imagined she was due has now evaporated. Oprah, let's hope you have plenty of brainless softball things to toss to Barbie because if you try to get something sensible or worthwhile out of her, it will be a train wreck. On the other hand, it might be (no doubt WILL be) excellent fodder for Saturday Night Live.

Minnesotan   October 20th, 2009 3:15 pm ET

I see another great Tina Fey episode coming on SNL in the near future. Every time Palin opens her mouth, she comes up with the absolute BEST comedy lines. Keep the laughs coming, Sarah!

Peachy Keen   October 20th, 2009 3:15 pm ET

I think Oprah is going to need an extra dose of No Doze for that interview.

Art   October 20th, 2009 3:15 pm ET

Funny.... Oprah spoke to Obama before the election, but would not speak to Palin.....

dw   October 20th, 2009 3:15 pm ET

Oprah's upcoming show featuring Sara Palin as a guest seems to be a desperate move on Oprah's part. After reading the article "Palin to appear on Oprah day before tell-all released" I get the impression that she (Oprah) is trying to validate her position in the industry by keeping up with the "Jones" i.e. Van Susteren, Lauer, and King. If Palin refused to appear on Oprah's show in the past, then what has changed her mind? Let me take a guess at this. Everything Oprah has endorsed in the past has made millions for the owner of the product. Hum....who's using who? I admire Oprah for her business savvy but her common sense seems to be lacking.

Diane   October 20th, 2009 3:14 pm ET

WHO CARES. THIS LADY SHOWED THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SHE WON'T FINSH A JOB THAT SHE STARTS. She is just as she has been portrayed – a dimwit – and we should ignore her, ignore her, ignore her. I feel sorry that John McCain will be forever tied to the Palin name. I don't care what she has to say – she isn't worth listening to. Please, all stations, give us a break from her. She will never unite this country. Worse than Hilary and Bill Clinton.

Mary Kay   October 20th, 2009 3:14 pm ET

But now she's selling something. That's her motivation. Shame on you, Oprah, for providing her this avenue. After she whined for months about the "mainstream media" – she is ready to embrace them in order to put money in her fishing boots. The "mainstream media" should turn down her publicist calls and say they have more important stories to cover.

dave   October 20th, 2009 3:14 pm ET

Why do people care that Palin will talk with an entertainer? Of course, Oprah's ratings will be through the roof for this.

I wish political figures would do real interviews and actually debate with opposing points of view.

Dutch/Bad Newz, VA   October 20th, 2009 3:13 pm ET

Oh no!!! Please don't give this clown a stage Oprah.

John from California   October 20th, 2009 3:12 pm ET

Perhaps Oprah can find out why Sarah Palin can't seem to finish a job that she starts?

Sarah with no skills has been from tiny town mayor to tiny state governor to race bating hate mongering politician – why do we care about her again?

Pat   October 20th, 2009 3:12 pm ET

Why would anyone want to talk to Palin except to embarrass her or expose her naivety? Oprah must have agreed not to ask what mags and newspapers Sarah reads. It's a shame that anyone in this country would consider SP any kind of statesperson for the US after she neglected her state by short terming the Governorship and after previously wanting to secede from the US. It's all about the $$, as usual.

Felonious Monk   October 20th, 2009 3:11 pm ET

junglejim123   October 20th, 2009 3:10 pm ET

oh poor poor Oprah....Palin talked to everyone except Oh-prah...maybe theres a reason there eh Oprah ? Maybe cuz your radical friends in the DNC, including Obama, trashed Palin every chance they got. Maybe because you bankrolled Obama Palin felt she wouldnt be treated fairly. Lets hope you can niow finally be objective Oprah..... Oprah will do anything for ratings.

Everyone knows why Sarah Palin DID NOT TALK TO OPRAH . . .

Oprah will ask Palin questions, that Palin won't have answers for!

Palin has the same freedom of speech we all do, Oprah has freedom of speech also. Good for both of them, talking is the way we influence and learn about each other.

This will make great SNL material....don't let us down Sarah....lol

Jeff, Huntington Beach, CA   October 20th, 2009 3:03 pm ET

If there is one thing about Sarah Palin, she is predictable in her opportunism. She never lets a gift moment to further her self serving agenda go to waste. I find it so sad that many like herself who trumpet their "Christianity" never let their actions mirror what comes out of their mouths when it comes to their "faith."

Angie   October 20th, 2009 3:03 pm ET

Oh and by the way she only agreed to come on your show because she knows or thinks it will help sale her stupid book.

Michael M, Phoenix AZ   October 20th, 2009 3:03 pm ET

Well that's one Oprah show I won't be watching.
She snubbed you Oprah! Why would you have

Angie   October 20th, 2009 3:02 pm ET

Ok Oprah, please don't ask ANY hard questions. her volcabulary isn't that great and you would probably be talking over her head. ask her about hunting, fishing, having babies and quitting. But stay away from politcs, newspapers, magazines, any current events. Oh you might ask her about Russia, since she can see it from her house.

Curtis   October 20th, 2009 3:02 pm ET

My, my, how the smell of cash makes Ms. "Real America" more social. Hopefully she will make some sense during the interview.

johnnie w   October 20th, 2009 3:02 pm ET

Oh the QUITTER,and FAKE FLAKE, She complain so MUCH before that Oprah would not let her SORRY SELF come on in 2008 election. But who really cares CNN your network should be CNN PALIN QUITS.

Theresa in Bozeman   October 20th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

I hope Palin studies for the test this time.

J.Crobuzon   October 20th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

Atta girl, Oprah. FORCE her to come on your show. They used to pretend she could be president, and now she's crawling for dollars. She's the Quitter with Twitter! Failin' Palin! Cut-and-run-cuda! And "Going Rouge" is the perfect name for a book about a lipsticked pig.

LIP   October 20th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

Big mistake. Oprah is in the tank with Obama and will be gunning for Palin big time. Oprah will do everything she can to trip her up...probably ask the "impossible to answer" question that will top Katie Couric's question. I am sure Oprah's people are crafting that question right now.

Anonymous   October 20th, 2009 3:01 pm ET

I do not think that she will show up. I don't think that Oprah will agree to Palin's list of softballs. Plus I don't think she wants to answer questions about her new castle that she is building next to her other house. Also, too she might get asked about her pregnancy hoax.

someVAgal   October 20th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

So now Mrs. Palin will go on the Oprah show because she can make $ from it...funny how that works isn't it? She was able to sway some of her supporters from watching Oprah because she refused to sit down at the time of the election, but now that she stands a chance to make $ from it, she will....chasing the American Dream must be "en-Rogue"

beevee   October 20th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

Good chance for Oprah to expose what an idot Sarah palin is and put her down.

stranger in an increasingly strange land   October 20th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

Palin wrote a tell all book. If it is based on fact that has been checked by a reputable source that might just run up to ten-twele pages. If you leave wide margins and double spaced, of course.

Go Brainiac, go.

AEK   October 20th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

Confused am I...
Now, is former Governor Palin going to be on Oprah, or the person who actually wrote the book?
Just askin'!

James from Cali   October 20th, 2009 3:00 pm ET

WOWOWOWOWOW!!!!! I can't wait!!!!! I love Sarah!!!

Tony   October 20th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

Politics is strategy. Good move, Palin.

victim of republican greed   October 20th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

I hope Oprah does not ask her hard questions, or the wingnuts will go crazy. Keeping it simple like, "How are you today?" or "Do you still live in Alaska?"

Jay T.   October 20th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

Go get 'em you moose-hunting, Russia-watching, governor-quitting, reform-slandering magazine-reading princess! We luv ya'!

Common Cents   October 20th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

I'd rather watch paint dry...

JohnnyCakes   October 20th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

Rip her a new one, Oprah!

Who put the twit in twitter? Sarah!   October 20th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

Shameless promotion of her book. That's what this is all about. I 'd like to watch her choke on one of her mooseburgers.

2012   October 20th, 2009 2:59 pm ET

How could Oprah stoop so low! Anything for ratings. i will not be watching. I thought Oprah had class. Apparently not. On second thought, I need some comedy relief. She should invite Rob Blogajavich and Sanford from South Carolina to complete the circus! :)

justsane   October 20th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

i am sorry that oprah is giving her a platform.

Ted   October 20th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

Why does someone like Oprah lower herself to Sarah Palin's level and beg to interview her? Come on people, Sarah Palin is an ignorant idiot and if it hadn't been for McCain last year, no one would have ever heard of her. It is absolutely insane how people are going gaga over this moron.

Independent from DEM Party   October 20th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

love you, Palin!!!!!!!!

the Main Stream Media smeared you, trash you. But you have
GRACE, DINITY AND COURAGE TO STAND THE HEAT. YOU ARE CLASSY AND YOUR LEVEL OF TOLERANCE MADE ME ADMIRE YOU.

You are not a crying baby after all.

Tommy   October 20th, 2009 2:58 pm ET

Whoa! Stop the presses! Better get my TIVO setup.

Edgar   October 20th, 2009 2:57 pm ET

Its going to be a great show!

Palin and Oprah rock!

Anonymous   October 20th, 2009 2:56 pm ET

Of course, she will talk to you now.......she trying to sell a book.....don't let her off easy.

Connie   October 20th, 2009 2:56 pm ET

Oh Oprah!

I've lost all respect for you.

You now fall under the do NOT watch, Jerry Springer category.

Debbie, Las Vegas   October 20th, 2009 2:56 pm ET

Wow, can't wait to hear what the enlightened has to say.

jill   October 20th, 2009 2:56 pm ET

Sarah punished Oprah – now she needs Oprah.

steve   October 20th, 2009 2:56 pm ET

why help her sell a book that she isn't even smart enough to write and further her right wingnut agenda. Most of the real world has had enough of this air head

Dominican mama 4 Obama   October 20th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

I may just have to figure out how to work the On-Demand DVR and record this one!

The Gonz   October 20th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

I wonder if Palin (the Queen of trailer trash) will even read her own book!

sharon   October 20th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

Oprah I like you.

little miss rouge.............."and who cares"???????????

cathie   October 20th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

We all know the reason that Sarah is on Oprah. If you write a book make sure you have Oprah sell it for you. Follow the $$$$$$$$$$$. :)

Palin is the love-child of Schlafly and Limbaugh   October 20th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

Why is this empty-headed former prom queen still in the news? Her 15 minutes were up a LONG time ago ... like the day after the 2008 presidential election.

Preco   October 20th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

I can see Russia.........

RRRUSA   October 20th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

I will believe it when I see it!
Look for Palin to find a last minute excuse not to appear. Look for her to ask for so many conditions it is not an 'interview'. Look for her to leave in the middle of the interview. Look for her to only answer questions about the 'book'. Look for suprise guest Michelle Obama on the same show (now that would be cool!).

Dominican mama 4 Obama   October 20th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

I don't watch Oprah, but I hope to God she wails into Palin like Katie Couric never could. If only to show the average housewife sitting at home (more than likekly RethugliKlan because Democratic housewives HAVE to work in order to make ends meet) what a complete idiot Sarah is, and how God spared the USA of a fate worse than death. I also remember how the bigots spoke about Oprah during, and after the election. They threw everything BUT the sink at her for supporting Obama, and they rejoiced in the fact that we did not get the Olympics even though she was part of the effort. So yes, may God forgive me, I hope she shows the American Paragon of Quitterhood up for what she is.... an empty-headed skirt unworthy of travelling in the same circles as Oprah, and others who are willing to go the extra mile for the good of our country.

Ellie   October 20th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

I am so sick of Sarah Palin. I'll be sure NOT to watch Oprah that day.

Jay T.   October 20th, 2009 2:54 pm ET

This woman is the Cleopatra of our generation. She just needs her Marc Anthony. Italian Prime Minister, Berlosconi, anyone?

Terry from West Texas   October 20th, 2009 2:53 pm ET

I doubt that Palin has read the book. I suspect that one of her assistants has briefed her on what the book says. Given Palin's track record of public relations disasters, I predict a series of blunders and poor sales.

I feel sorry for all the authors who cannot find a publisher when this woman is probably going to make a good deal of money for doing nothing.

john from Arizona   October 20th, 2009 2:53 pm ET

It would be real good if the news media would ignore Palin. She is not only old news, she is bad news. She is forgettable.

Garland   October 20th, 2009 2:53 pm ET

You fit into her agenda at this moment Oprah! She knows that you are watched by millions. I'm flabbergatsted that you would even ask her. I for one, WON"T WATCH!

Steph   October 20th, 2009 2:53 pm ET

Ick! That's one Oprah I'll skip.

Cathy Reid   October 20th, 2009 2:52 pm ET

Who wants to hear what this moron has to say. She is a stupid person. Who should crawl back in to the hole she slithered out of.
Sarah, you are the laughing stock of the country. Your dumber than dirt and everyone knows it.
Go back to where you came from and stay there with your ugly mouth shut and do us all a favor.
You make women look bad.

me   October 20th, 2009 2:52 pm ET

i won't watch that show

patNY   October 20th, 2009 2:52 pm ET

I hope Palin reads the book before appearing on Oprah, so she knows what's in it [wink wink, oh you betcha!] Hey, I can see a library from my window, guess that means I'm a writer!

mike lyman   October 20th, 2009 2:50 pm ET

Why would Palin appear on Oprah?? Oprah and her audience are Obama sycophants!! I would rather see her on Fox News.
ML

Elizabeth   October 20th, 2009 2:50 pm ET

Why does anyone give this woman airtime? I am now disappointed in Oprah. Palin is an embarrassment to women everywhere.

Ken, AZ   October 20th, 2009 2:49 pm ET

Bet she doesn't show.

Victim of Democratic greed   October 20th, 2009 2:48 pm ET

Well this will be interesting to see how Huge Obama supporter Oprah treats Sarah Palin. I would expect Oprah to be professional, unlike Katie Couric or Charles Gibson.

TangledThorns   October 20th, 2009 2:47 pm ET

Good for Sarah but the world doesn't revolve around Oprah. Sarah Palin 2012!! She will be a far better President than the current joker in the WH.
