WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Barack Obama on Thursday signed a bill to ensure that government funding for veterans' health care avoids any gaps in the budgeting process.
The Veterans Health Care Budget Reform and Transparency Act calls for Congress to approve funding for veterans' medical care a year in advance, Obama said. Such advanced funding will give the Department of Veterans Affairs more time for planning how to spend the money, he said.
The bill also requires the Government Accountability Office to audit the budget process to ensure that veterans' medical care is receiving sufficient funds, according to supporters.

We've spent so much time being "Monday morning Quarterbacks" for the actions of the former and current administrations, when there isn't any effort or energy spending time on things that are actually happening that we can see. I wonder why they don't ask Hannity, Beck, Olbermann, LImbaugh, Matthews, or Cooper anything regarding this......wonder why? It doesn't create divisions among us because you can't utilize your imagination on what you think should be done, or what this person thinks the outcomes of this issue brings. Just more proof that democrats are the party that truly supports our men and women in the armed services. Republicans would lower their pay, lower their benefits, and find new ways to slaughter them in search of the tooth fairy (or WMD's).

Thank you Mr President. I would like to point out that in 1998 the Congress passed legislation fullfilling the promise made to veterans. That being that the VA would provide medical care and treatment to all Veterans. The Congress however has never fully funded the VA despite their very own legislation, this has resulted in means testing and denial of services to veterans that are entitled to care if they wish with in the VA. While I doubt that this will fix the situation, it would appear to be a step in the right direction. Now if we could have a National VA System where a Veteran could receive needed care from any VA facility and not at the Regional VA facility in which he registered, we would be making strides in cutting through the red tape that makes the VA such a pleasure to deal with.

You people who think Obama is taking care of veterans, remember he wanted them to pay for their own medical bills when injured while serving. They didn't even deny it!!!!!!!!!

Now if he would NOT fund abortion and illegals in the new healthcare bill WHICH HE IS, more of that money would go to the real heroes in this country and the not the people who jump rope and do the hula hoop and run around the world apologizing for us shedding blood to help MILLIONS live freely over the years.
I applaud him for this bill, but quit apologizing for this great countries deeds coward in chief.
