I wish people would quit pushing Brack Obama to explain every little detail in the Health Care Reform package. He knows what he is doing and you should know that he is looking out for everyone. His grace is wonderful and he is the wind underneth our feet.

The public option is the governments preferred means to nationalize the health insurance industry and subsequently introduce socialized medicine. Nothing more.

  3. Enough

The destruction of health care as we know it. It will mean long waits to see a doctor or have surgery, it will mean the end of quality care. It will cost those of us who pay taxes a fortune to cover those who pay no income tax. It will be like Medicare, lousy coverage and broke.

If you are against the public option then don't sign up for medicare when you get old. That's public run health care. Wouldn't want you waiting in all those 'long lines' for 'substandard care.'

  7. File under "Sarcasm"

The Public Option is hiding in the offices of Harry Reed and Nancy Pelosi waiting to jump out at the last minute before the Congress is to vote on a healthcare bill without reading it. October 31st seems like the right time for that to happen.

Great....Medicare is broke but they want everyone to have it. Good plan.

We already have exchanges on the internet for health insurance. Just type in what you want and get whatever you want.

So, the first one is broke, the second is already availible, that leaves the third...opting out. That's the only good idea they've come up with. OPTING OUT.

  9. Fools and their freedoms are soon parted

Public option...givmtn run health care..same thing illegal under the constitution, immoral as Obama and his minions are enslaving our future generations with massive debt, unethical becuase yet again the middle class must pay for people who will not pay for their own health care.

The so called long waits for Dr. visits and surgery are all scare tactics. Do not listen to these people. We need the public option to bring competition to the large controling insurance companies. They have been protected to long.

THe reason we push for him to say what his plan is is because he doesnt know. the house I gues knows but it changes day to day. Medicare is something many pay for already lpook at your check you pay into it already, but Medicare has been going bankrupt for years. the funny thing is last summer Obama said swine flu was not a epidemic but that he is on top of it. why then are we out of vacine almost already? wash your hands and ask do we really want Gov. in the health business........

The public option is something where I have to pay more in taxes and fees.

Get this straight you politicians (mostly DUMocRATS, but some repubs too), I"m not paying any more taxes or fees.

    PERIOD, end of statement.

    Get your spending under control.

I am really pleased at how much Senator Pelosi thinks of me ....

She feels I am so good at taking care of my family that she feels I am better able to pay for my family and your family's health care, etc

So – the "Public Option" will have lower premiums -eh?

If this because the government can run an organization more efficiently than a business – like the "evil" insurance companies?

Nonsense. The only way a public option will offer lower premiums is that this system will be based on the same looter class mentality that is rampant in the Obama administration. Need cheaper premiums – well... – we'll just have the government pick up part or all of the tab – at a huge additional cost to those dwindling number of taxpayers who are actually contributing.

Latest figures now show about 46% of U.S. voting population does not pay any Federal income taxes. Once this welfare heathcare system is shoved through, that number may well reach 50%.

Do you liberals out there actually think that is sustainable? That you can keep going to the "nanny state" government to provide more and more of what you should be providing for yourselves? Are you like the medicaid recepients detailed by a California physician recently, who saw people coming in to get "free" healthcare services that they could not afford – while carrying iphones, nintendo DS, etc., that they somehow could afford ??

People didnt ask for all this information when Bush signed the Patriot Act or sent us into dual war fronts, deregulated industries, turned over the FCC into far right conservative guidance and more for all that. Health care is a joke and the issue is a joke. If people really wanted to solve the healthcare crisis in America they could simply look in the mirror and see what they have done to cause it. Rising rates will continue to happen if we dont look in the mirror and say hey, im not helping myself. We will continue to look for pills and other quick schemes of health rather than do the hard work. Period!

There would be no wait. That is what is so crazy about all this. Watch the movie "Sicko". People in Canada, Britain, & France don't have to wait more than an hour for any healthcare. No paperwork, no bulls**t, and EVERYONE receives top quality treatment. No dying in the waiting room like in the USA. Wouldn't that be great if everyone was healthy? We

Obama, who I supported, promised to do something structural to bring down the costs in our medical delivery system. That could/should mean – allowing pharmacists to dispense non-narcotics for minor ailments, pay for the outcome and not for each procedure. Nothing like this is happening. I am very disappointed.

Thanks for actually doing good journalism on the health care reform. I agree with Ralph, Obama's responsibility is to work with Congress and achieve what he set out to do when elected. He has held a joint session of Congress televised for the American public, made a ton of speeches and appearances at town halls. Its a bit of the media's fault for exacerbating the fears over reform and they are just now, on a daily basis, really delving into the plights of people being denied coverage, losing coverage, or are underinsured.

Reid and Pelosi- make sure a public option is in health care reform bill!

Public option is a way for your money you pay, that is right pay, goes toward health care not toward multimillion $ salaries /bonuses to executives or dividends to shareholders or private jets for insurance companies.

With the money saved from just the above overhead, premiums could be less, employers could put the money into increase pay to employees or hire more people.

Think how much more could be saved if we had single payer non-profit universal health care. I just can not believe people can not see this.

Yes, Enough. A public option will destroy US health care as we know it. We might move above France, UK, Japan Canada, Saudi Arabia, ect.

ALL OF WHO have a public option! Are we as a country too wrapped up in ourselves that we can't look at other healthcare systems and model after them. But I guess that would be un-American?

Obamas' cabinet is corrupt as any Chicago politician. He is a Narcisst, and only cares about shoving health care down everyones throught. Unbelievable. Our national debt is staggering, and is only getting worse. 80 + percent of our nation is happy with our Healthcare system. Of course we can compromise on some issues, but not an overhaul. This is just another step towards the Chinese owning all US assets. When our dollar is not worth anything, all you democrats will wish you took an economics class.
He and other Dems need to be concentrating on Job growth, Afganistan, Foreign policy, and social security issues...

No one would have to wait. That is propaganda... a.k.a. lie... to persuade people against the health care reform bill. People in Canada, Britain, & France don't have to wait any more than an hour for any health care. It truly is Bulls–t! And EVERYONE gets treated! And everyone gets treated with TOP-QUALITY treatment. Watch the movie "Sicko". You won't believe how great health care is in all of the other developed nations. We are the richest nation with the 37th best healthcare system. We have socialized mail, socialized libraries, socialized fire departments, socialized k-12 schools, and a socialized police department. What is everyone afraid of? We will still be a democratic society! This will not turn into a Stalinist state! Those of you with plenty of money and plenty of insurance may or may not have anything to worry about. But consider everyone else. And don't even get me started on the corrupt pharmaceutical industry! Other countries pay (literally!) pennies for the same drugs that we pay hundreds of dollars. There are four pharmaceutical lobbyists for every one congressman. Every single politician has pharmaceutical companies that their pockets. Why? Don't be naïve. Money talks.

Government run Health Care is a good thing under two conditions:
    1) The Government DOES NOT run it as they will screw it up like everything else they touch
    2) Our Country can afford it without taking us into bankruptcy
