Rep. Grayson calls Cheney a vampire

Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Florida, attracted attention for a tirade in the House against the GOP's health care plan.
Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Florida, attracted attention for a tirade in the House against the GOP's health care plan.

NEW YORK (CNN)– Controversial freshman Rep. Alan Grayson, who has become famous for attacking the Republicans' health care plan, went on the attack again Friday night, calling former Vice President Dick Cheney a vampire for his recent criticism of the Obama administration's handling of the war in Afghanistan.

"I have trouble listening to what [Cheney] says sometimes because of the blood that drips from his teeth while he's talking," the Florida Democrat said on MSNBC's Hardball Friday night. "But my response is this: he's just angry because the president doesn't shoot old men in the face. But by the way, when he was done speaking, did he just then turn into a bat and fly away?"

In a hard-hitting, wide-ranging speech last Wednesday, Cheney targeted the administration's decision-making process on how to proceed in Afghanistan, saying Obama has failed to give troops on the ground a clear mission or defined goals and appeared "afraid to make a decision."

"The White House must stop dithering while America's armed forces are in danger," Cheney said at the Center for Security Policy. "Make no mistake, signals of indecision out of Washington hurt our allies and embolden our adversaries."

In responding to Cheney's attack, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs on Thursday got in a jab of his own.

"What Vice President Cheney calls 'dithering,' President Obama calls his solemn responsibility to the men and women in uniform and to the American public," Gibbs said. "I think we've all seen what happens when someone doesn't take that responsibility seriously."

Grayson, a successful trial lawyer turned Congressman, shot to national fame - and notoriety - last month, when he took to the floor of the House of Representatives and dramatically described the GOP health care plan as: "Don't get sick, and if you do get sick, die quickly." He refused to apologize; Republicans say they'll mount a stiff challenge against him in his conservative-leaning district in 2010, but so far no one has come forward.

They say imitation is the best form of flattery. If that's the case, the Republicans should feel pretty good about themselves considering the Dems are now trotting out Joe Wilson version 2.0, seemingly daily. Funny...never heard a word from this guy before "You lie."

I am wondering what Dick Cheney would be saying if John Mc cain
was President and in the same situation as President Obama?
How dare Dick Cheney bad mouthing the President when the country is at war,
And to make it worst its the war that he Cheney and President Bush
started. If Dick Cheney wanted to say something he could at least say something positive are dont say nothing atall.
Cheney is talking as if Obama and his administration is not capable to
    govern this country.
This is a true case of the pot calling the kettle black. This is not a case of Bush and Cheney leaving the cvountry in good standing and Obama
came and messing it all up.
For God sake Obama is trying to clean up there mess.
So Cheney just sit back and shut your lean crooked mouth Lol

Mr Grayson is a voice we needed for a long time.
He says it like it is. Cheney should just go away since he can't make any more decisions. He had 8 years to make this country better and look what he did. Shame on him and his daughter for trying to scare people.

It's amazing to me, that the former VP, who was part of the last administration that invaded a country that never attacked us, and totally screwed it up from A to Z, danced on the constitution, all but ruined our standing in the world, no bid contracts to his former company , etc. etc. has the absolute gall to sit back and throw bricks at Obama.Go away Dick, nobody gives a crap what you say. You had your chance and blew it. Nobody except the far right nuts gives a **** what you say. Grayson is right, you are a MOST evil and obnoxious man.

You're words Rep Grayson are kinder than what I heard heard a bunch of people saying including myself after Mr. Cheney's speech. If the Bush (aka Cheney) administration had any clear cut goals in Afghanistan, we wouldn't still be in a war there...............Good for you

I think the Cheneys are making the country less safe with all their crap. And it's not like HE did anything for this country in the 8 years he pulled W's strings.

I feel safer now that Shooter is NOT in a position of power.

This idiot has no idea what is good for our country or military. He attacks a GOP health care bill that would have excluded illegal aliens and abortion coverage – both of which should NEVER be paid for with taxpayer's money. And he supports the dem plan which costs $1.4 TRILLION to cover 10 million REAL uninsured Americans. He should impeach himself, and he is dumb enough to do it.

I think it is about time to have a law to remove uneducated lawmakers out of the house by the honor of our country. This type of people are not qualified to represent our citizen, uneducated, irresponsible. Why we, American, make such big mistake to select these kind of people. It is ashmed that we are proudly to say that we are one of the most civilized country.
What can we do now we have more uneducated people in the House? Too bad.

Alan Grayson tells "It like it is!" Cheney talks, acts, and looks like a fictional vampire. He sure "sucked" the economy dry with his Iraq obessions and behind the scenes machinations. And, he continues to try to "bite" the Democrats at every opportunity. So, all in all, Rep. Grayson
    rings like a bell.

Alan Grayson is the Democrat/Liberal version of Rush Limbaugh. I agree that Limbaugh is often foul, but he wasn't elected to represent people. He gets paid as an entertainer to be controversial and disgusting. Grayson has no respect for his own position or our country.

Of course, most Liberals won't acknowledge this at all, due to their overwhelming hypocrite blinders.

It is time that someone stands up to Cheney. Cheney is trying to save his butt. When his war-crimes are looked into, he may have to go before the World Court. He and Liz have had their fifteen minutes. Their fifteen minutes has done so much damage to our great nation and to the world.
