(CNN) - The flag-draped cases of 18 Americans killed in Afghanistan arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware early Thursday, in a solemn event attended by President Obama.
Also in attendance for the transfer of the bodies were U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Michele Leonhart, acting DEA administrator.
The bodies were of three Drug Enforcement Administration special agents and 15 U.S. troops who died in Afghanistan this week.
The DEA agents were killed Monday as they returned from a raid on a compound believed to be harboring insurgents tied to drug trafficking. Their helicopter with seven troops aboard went down in western Afghanistan.

Hmmmmm-do I detect a bit of guilt on BO's part????-Oh no that can't be-especially from a Nobel Peace Prize winner!...and when are you planning on telling these families of the deceased that you're sending more troops to Afghanistan????-NO WAR NO HOW NO WAY!!!!-Be the person you said you were when you ran one year ago....I didn't vote for the war-is what you said BO!!!!
Mr. President
Very touching...
You are now in command. Those are your troops. Your actions are responsible for Soldier's lives saved as well as those 18 deaths. The ROE that your hand-piccked general instituted has made the troops on the ground more vulnerable. That is what command means. I'm concerned that you are holding "war councils" That is a red flag to anyone familiar with command.
LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!!!
Thank you Mr. President for taking your time with this hard decision!!
(wonder how this will get twisted, they may say that it is a deversion method)LOL.....
Our troops are proud that you are their commander in chief!!
That's A Class Act 100% All The Way President Obama.
Mr. President this is the right thing to do. May God bless these lost lives, and may he show us the right thing to do to stop these horrible wars.
Nothing to add just ............. RIP soldiers.
Classy!! That is all I have to say.
Why did Obama even show up??
Some could argue............These men/women might be alive today, if Obama would have made the decision regarding Afghanistan. These men/women would have either been home-- or they would have had the increased troops that the Generals requested-– which would have given the troops more strength/power/control--and would have increased the chances of their safety.
October, 2009-- had the most deaths of our military men/women, since the war began--55 deaths.
However, Obama has more pressing matters such as-–campaigning, golf, attacking Fox News, etc.
Our prayers goes out to all the fallen hero’s families!
Let us see how the Republicans will spin this in a negative way.
As opposed to Bush who simply had them hang up a banner on a ship that read "Mission Accomplished".
Which was interesting because we're still at it...
This is how a commander acts. Not crazy, all over the board, just running around like Yosemite Sam shooting everything that moves. He makes thoughtful, intelligent decisions. That includes observing the results of those decisions, which, as President will include dead Americans. Thank you Mr President for this noble act.
Instead of exploiting our brave dead for political gain, why dont you send the 60,000 troops needed to win this war. They died due to your inability to make tough choices. Shame on you obama! i refuse to call you president. you are a muslim sympathizer who probably cheers these deaths. you and all the america hating liberals can goto hell and we would be happy to send you guys there. TRAITORS!
We should just pull all our troops out now and simply do fly overs and dust their poppy fields with agent orange. The poppy crop is supporting the Taliban 100%. It seems like a no brainer to me. Instead we send troops and they grow their cash crop and life goes on, except for those US soldiers that must die occasionally.
