'I don't care what Dick Cheney thinks,' Biden says

Biden says he's not too interested in what Dick Cheney has to say.
Biden says he's not too interested in what Dick Cheney has to say.

Washington (CNN) – Vice President Biden on Friday fired back at criticism from his predecessor, former Vice President Cheney, that President Obama is "dithering" over his decision about whether to send up to 40,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan.

"I like Dick Cheney personally but I really don't care what Dick Cheney thinks and I'm not sure a lot of Americans do," Biden said in an exclusive interview with CNN. "Look at the policy they left us, look at the policy of neglect they left us in Afghanistan, look at the policy we inherited in terms of their foreign policy...I think the President is doing exactly what any president should do."

October has turned out to be the deadliest month of the war so far, and Biden said the president needs the appropriate time to get the strategy right. He said the situation on the ground has changed because the Taliban is "taking advantage of a chaotic election process that took place in Afghanistan."

Biden added, "Any thoughtful president should be sitting down saying, 'Okay what is the strategy we have to employ with these changed circumstances?' And then look at the tactic that will best accomplish that. The President has great faith in the military."

Look at the success they left you in Iraq. If you do not consider all input in decisions regardless of wether or not they agree with your own opinions you are only affecting your own ability to make the correct decisions. You certainly do not have to act on opposing views for sure, but to not pay attention to what others say only hurts your own cause.

But what do I know? I'm not a part of the Washington Political Establishment like Joe Biden is. For now.

    Hi Mr. Vice President.

Stop saying of what you inherited. You had talked about this and using this to get this position. Now you got the position so that you can work on it as you promised. The campaign stage is over and now we want to see what you did for almost a year, not what you inherited.

The clinton's administration gave heaven to Al Qaeda for 8 years and that is why we got attack after 9 months when President Bush took office. Did he day what he inherited?

VP Biden – I don't care either. Neither do most Americans. They are useless and they know it. Please keep doing what you're doing. I feel a lot safer now.

Do you know anyone in the USA who cares what Biden says? If his lips are moving he's either confused or telling a lie.

So how does Joe feel about the fact that in recent days Obama and the DNC staff have made it VERY clear that he was not their first choice? ANd that is was only the fact that Hillary's husband (Bill) was such a loose cannon, that she did not get the nod.

Despicable biden. I truly never thought I would HATE the Democrats to this extent and YES YES YES I am still to this day a registered Democrat. These self-serving villains have utterly debased and sullied the Democratic values AND American values for political expediency and their perfidious selfish motives.

Beverly in NC, I totally agree with your statement. The Bush-Cheney team have left us a legacy and a tragedy that will haunt this country for many years to come. Who cares what Cheney thinks now.

"I think the President is doing exactly what any president should do."

Yup, he's doing it all right. Leaving our troops without the numbers they need for success in Afghanistan while he waffles on what his best move for his political career is but not what's best for our country.

For any of you who gave comments, if you were not an adult during 1990s then should not complain about the Bush's administration. All President Bush did was to correct what Clinton has left for America after 8 years. Clinton so much concentrated on making money for Americans that forgot to protect American citizen. President Bush then corrected that due to 9/11 event. Please do some reading before talking badly to President Bush. I know that Obama want to take advantage of the supports from young people who do not know much about 9/11 and before that.

Dick Cheney has more credibilty then this Obama Abministration has.

Thank God we had George Bush as President and Dick Cheney as Vice President when 911 happened, it would have been a complete disaster if this Obama Administration was in control at that time.

I find it funny that all of a sudden Cheney knows how to win the war in Afghanistan. Why didn't he go it in the previous 6 years he (I mean Bush) was running the country? I for one like the fact that Obama takes time to get information and advice before making as serious a decision as sending more of our soldiers into danger. It's called making an informed decision. More Americans should try it. The last president didn't think things through before being the "decider" and look where it got us.

Cheney is a hater. Plain and simple. No one cares what he thinks except other haters. Remember the term "evildoers" and the manipulative attempts to use religion to further war, killing, the destruction of the economy - heck the destruction of the entire foundation of democracy? We don't listen to that garbage - that's why we put an intelligent man who just won the Nobel Peace Prize in the White House.

Oh yes all you republicans and racits out there, you all think the world will be a better place in 2012 when 20 percent of the republicans put Sarah in for president and the fox gang as her caboinet.

Cheney is simply an irresponsible individual who was part of the weakest administration in modern US history. If he could just said something intelligent enough so I don't waste my time hoping to read anything that wouldn't be a waste of my time, would be great. I'm disappointed once again.

Cheney? Oh, the guy that's mouthing off to justify his crimes. Watch and see Cheney get in trouble for illegal actions taken during his reign. He acts exactly like someone guilty of something. It explains his motives wholely.

I don't like either of them. For years we've needed a government clean-out–these people have all been in politics too long. It wasn't meant to be a career afterall. Something wrong when congressional reps get pensions.

    Go Bev in NC......

The death and destruction that Cheney has brought to the World and to America is enough!! The corporate owned republicians, and Lieberman are not interested in the American people in the least. The greed and war mongering must STOP. Only right wing zelots care what Cheney has to say, and they are not the majority, just the loud few playing on the fear of others. We took back our country when we elected Obama, the majority won.
