(CNN) - Rush Limbaugh brought his popular vitriol to national television Sunday, calling President Barack Obama unqualified and questioning if Obama and other Democrats care about the nation's well-being.

In a rare television interview, on the "FOX News Sunday" program, the conservative talk radio superstar declared himself worried about America's future under Obama and said he wondered if the president and the Democratic Party wanted to hurt - rather than help - the country.

"We've never seen this kind of radical leadership at such a high level of power in the in the country," Limbaugh said. "I believe that the economy is under siege, is being destroyed. Anybody with any economic literacy would not do one thing this administration's done to try to revitalize the private sector. They're destroying it.

"… And I have to think that it may be on purpose, because this is just outrageous, what is happening - a denial of liberty, an attack on freedom."

In other comments, Limbaugh called Obama "immature," "a child," "narcissistic" and "over his head." He called Obama's pre-dawn trip to Dover Air Force Base last week to view the dignified transfer of war dead from Afghanistan a "photo op."

Asked to respond, Obama's senior adviser, David Axelrod, called Limbaugh an entertainer.

"I think it's a surreal day when you're getting lessons in humility from Rush Limbaugh," Axelrod said on the CBS program "Face the Nation."

"We'll let Mr. Limbaugh fulminate. I think the American people are well served and believe they're well served."

Also Sunday, independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut said on the same program that he rejected Limbaugh's characterization of Obama's trip to view the return of war dead.

"I just totally disagree with him," Lieberman said of Limbaugh, adding: "I was proud that my president was there."

For his part, Limbaugh attacked every policy, action and motivation of the Obama administration.

He said the third quarter economic growth reported this week was all due to government intervention - from the Cash for Clunkers program and homebuyers' tax credit - rather than actual private sector expansion.

Obama was delaying a decision on more troops for Afghanistan for political reasons, Limbaugh said, and health care reform is a thinly disguised Democratic attempt to gain government control of one-sixth of the economy, he said.

He derided Democrats on security issues, saying they cared more about their political well-being than protecting the country.

"I hate to be honest with you here, but I do question their commitment to national security," Limbaugh said. "I question their commitment to the U.S. military. They'll put their political survival and their political power being gained over anything else. They'll use anybody and throw anybody away in order to achieve it."

His comments Sunday included a personal glimpse, with Limbaugh saying his treatment from drug addiction helped him deal with feelings of personal inadequacy.

At the same time, Limbaugh confirmed his latest contract could earn him $400 million, and he claimed credit for launching conservative talk radio and the eventual existence of a wide range of right-leaning media outlets.

They don't care and its funny and sad that people refuse to see that. People honestly believe that Obamas health care plan is about helping people and not lining the pockets of SCIU and other liberal special interests? Grow up and get a clue!

Tom L   November 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

If Rush Limbaugh is so wrong wouldn't it be prudent to go on HIS show and prove him wrong? There is no denying the size of his audience so if Axelrod or Emanuel are correct that Rush is lying, go on his show and PROVE it.

mike in knoxville   November 1st, 2009 8:42 pm ET

What an idiot. You know if Obama was endorsed by christ he would have something negative to say. The Repuplicns and there henchmen are pissed because the economy is growing, people dont care about gay marrage, people want our army home, and they feel like the republicans are being run by the christian taliban. They can all move to Alaska, who cares

Pam   November 1st, 2009 8:35 pm ET

And from what tree of knowledge did the limpboy pick the coveted fruits, that obviously after gorging on them, bestow upon its recipient, the wisdom and powers to spew such idiocy from his hot, scorched breath. rush-o has no formal EDUCATION-limpboy has NEVER served in the military and yet-feels he has the credentials to criticize an ultra intelligent, educated, ELECTED commander in chief, about our kids in uniform, a garment this illustrious entertainer has NEVER donned!!! What has he done for this country? Oh, I forget, the limpboy letter!! What a HYPOCRITE!!!!

Nash   November 1st, 2009 8:30 pm ET

Perhaps the most arrogant and ignorant person I have ever heard or seen (Thank God, not in person!) is Rush. What saddens me most is the amount of money the Talk Radio gives him in his contracts just so they can push "snake oil – like products" to other innocent and ignorant people on the radio. Of course, Rush is only the leader of that band of thieves – Mark Levin, Sean Hannity, and Mike Gallagher are Rush's trusted partners-in-crime!

Jon Krieger   November 1st, 2009 8:29 pm ET

Obama should prove ha cares by putting down the bag of Butterfingers and actually MAKE A DECISION ON THE AFGHAN TROOPS SITUATION!!

SY   November 1st, 2009 8:22 pm ET

Rush does not do his research and he does not put forth facts. For him his stories are facts but for the MAJORITY his speech is not factual.Rush is a sick, mean, abnormal, megalomaniac

Donnie Jordan, Cary N.C.   November 1st, 2009 8:22 pm ET

Rush speaks the truth, I never heard of Obama until last year. The Federal Government cannot run the post office, how do you expect them to run our health care? Obama can send a team of Navy Seals to shoot pirates in the head to save one man, but he can't sent additional troops to help our troops that need it until a election or leader is in place, oh come on people wake up, Obama is in this for himself, he has a hate agenda against the american people, he has a brother living in filthy conditions, he want help his brother, Do you honestly think he will help you? Don't bet you change,($$$) because Obama has taken that to!!!

File under "Sarcasm"   November 1st, 2009 8:20 pm ET

So what's your point CNN, other than throwing red meat to the left wing liberal commenters here to fixate on? He didn't really say anything new and probably didn't say anything worse about President Obama than the liberal left wingnuts said about President Bush. But, of course that's OK because he was Bush and Obama is not.

Joe   November 1st, 2009 8:17 pm ET

Rush represent some American views that are very unfavorable of what Obama is doing, or even what he is instructed to do or to say, very simple, he represent the people that don't want Obama to succeed as a President. I don't ignore him, he is a very well educated, don't see no entertainment in it, the man is serious, and hope they take him as such.

Marty, Grand Rapids MI   November 1st, 2009 8:17 pm ET

I'm not sure why people interview him. Let me point this out. No one in the republican or democratic parties are Hitler, Stalin, communist, socialist, working with terrorists or are actively trying to do this country harm.

50% of the worlds spending on military is done by the United States. We could cut our Military budget in Half and still be able to defend our country. And that money can be much better spent on all of the other priorities we have with our country.

Tired   November 1st, 2009 8:16 pm ET

The only thing Rush cares about is his bank balance. His brand of hate and innuendo evidently has a following and he is milking it for all it is worth – in dollars. He is also on a big power and ego trip. His rants are the only thing immature. If reasoned debate does not work yell louder and threaten people with extinction. I am racking my brain to figure out what way-out radical policies the democrats (or heaven forbid-liberals) have been promoting. I don't agree with everything every President or any other politician proposes but I am willing to listen and give things a chance. That's why we live in the USA so we can disagree and hold differing opinions. Everything we do not agree with is not evil nor done with evil intent. I am so sick of this atmosphere of hate.

Matt   November 1st, 2009 8:15 pm ET

Rush is right. Can't wait for the change of blue seats to red in 2010.......America is finally waking up!

RO   November 1st, 2009 8:15 pm ET

Wow..this guy is making millions for shooting off his mouth on radio? He is nuts!

Fitz in Texas   November 1st, 2009 8:11 pm ET

Trust me Limbaugh isn't the only one asking that question these days. With the Democrats it's all about votes and if you don't give them those vote you can bet they'll throw you under the bus. Hell, they'll even throw their own under the bus for that matter.

Donnie Jordan, Cary N.C.   November 1st, 2009 8:10 pm ET

You go Rush!! You hit the nail on the head, Obama and all those Democrat crownies are truly destroying the economy. Yeah those Bush years were tough, We had Jobs, The economy was great, health care was good, now look!!! Truly I'm surprised CNN included you on their blog, You said this once on your show, If you want the economy to turn around and create jobs, "Just do the opposite of Obama and his "hinchmen". You were right. Please run for President and have Shawn Hannity as your running mate and if possible appoint Neil Bortz as the speaker of the house.

This has to be turned around!!!

Stop the spending   November 1st, 2009 7:49 pm ET

Look close at 3rd quarter GDP. Beyond all the rosey headlines is the truth that the numbers are high because of the Government, otherwise the GDP would have been flat. Great, we got growth, but it was driven by the government. Tells me we are a long way off from any real recovery. American has grown due to the hard work of the people, not the government. True return of the GDP in my mind is when there is no housing credit, cash for clunkers, etc.

Tammy   November 1st, 2009 7:48 pm ET

I guess he can't be tried for treason, nor for libel... maybe sent to clown school? Pathetic buffoon. Well, he earns big bucks. Someone listens to him. Scary. This is America?

Gpenn   November 1st, 2009 7:47 pm ET

Rush says whatever will drive his ratings. He does not care about our country, just his wallet. He has found a niche with the undereducated easily scared and he is milking it for all it's worth. Please people just ignore him and he will go away.

kd   November 1st, 2009 7:46 pm ET

Limbaugh does zero 'research'. He's a carnival barker and he's being pressured by Glen Beck's popularity. Beck is beyond over the top and Limbaugh is simply rising (sinking, is more like it) to Beck's level.

CBR   November 1st, 2009 7:46 pm ET

Rush Limbaugh's remarks do not bear repeating. His biased remarks, adjectives about people, and name calling have no place in American society People on both sides of the aisle should denounce this kind of political baiting.

I wonder what would happen if CNN and others stopped repeating his ideas and words.

James A.   November 1st, 2009 7:45 pm ET

Well,
all this said [by Limbaugh]:

Many of us feel the exact same way about these ultra conservatives.

Take everything Limbaugh said and reverse it against him and others like him.

john white   November 1st, 2009 7:43 pm ET

CNN now I see why your network is last, after watching the Rush interview most of the comments here are all against Rush. However and I will say and I have not read all the comments where is the response to what he is saying? If what he is saying is not true why not do a fact check to prove him wrong? Enough with all the name calling!! Prove the man wrong if what he is saying is not true!! Most of the comments here does not dispute what he is saying. Do some real reporting CNN before what viewers you do have leave. I gave up on you network long ago I just wanted to see what was being posted and it was what I expected.

Abdur Azad, New York   November 1st, 2009 7:38 pm ET

Rush's CERTIFICTE is enough to understand that Obama is moving in the right direction. I pity for Rush. Rush is the example of meanness, how a man can go low for personal gain. Those who are playing at the tune of Rush will understand it in 2 years how he destroyed the interest of the conservative base and the democracy of America.

Too True For You   November 1st, 2009 7:38 pm ET

How ironic, coming from a guy who only cares about ratings.

And yet some pathetic ditto heads totally confused about the difference between entertainment and political discourse, between opinion and actual truth, will surely log on here and defend him. For you conservatives that are so impaired, let me spell it out for you. Rush = entertainment. What Rush Says = Opinion.

Try not to get it all confused now or you'll find yourself thinking you're some kind of patriot when all you are is some misguided boob getting his thinking points from a second rate hack with the intellectual depth of an average 14 year old.

ron   November 1st, 2009 7:37 pm ET

I think there should be a debate between Limbaugh and Michael Moore. They both have platforms and would provide a good perspective on various iisues.

not alone   November 1st, 2009 7:36 pm ET

wow and people listen to this moron?Mom taught me long time ago if you can't say anything nice: don't say anything at all.to bad he didn't have a real mother to tell him that. The world would be a better place for it.

Jim in Idaho   November 1st, 2009 7:35 pm ET

What? news is so slow and unoriginal on CNN that CNN needs to report as "news" what entertainer Limbaugh said, not on CNN but on a competitive channel, FOX news?

That's pretty pathetic.....might as well report as CNN news what NBC, CBS, and MSNBC had to say today as well. Sure easier than going out and finding it yourself.....

Jack   November 1st, 2009 7:34 pm ET

He appeared on Fox and they're just as looney as Rush. Birds of a feather .... By openly questioning the President's patriotism and love for country, Rush is showing how low and non-patriotic he is. Those people like him still don't get it. McCain lost and we are never going back to the Reagan era.

KJ   November 1st, 2009 7:33 pm ET

That's right – Rush is an entertainer.. a clown. What is sad is that people actually follow and believe in this guy.

Tommygunn   November 1st, 2009 7:31 pm ET

Anybody that wants the PRESIDENT to FAIL regardless of the party they represent NEEDS TO BE QUESTIONED.

What kind of an AMERICAN wishes the PRESIDENT to FAIL PUBLICALLY, with hatred and ugly statements other than a person that represent EGOTISTICAL MADNESS. They are wishing AMERICA to FAIL.

NO PRESIDENT would take the office without AMERICA in their best interest regardless of their ideology.

And to hear Rush make ridiculous statements and give himself compliments on how he changed the landscape is pretty self telling. He is like King Midas, soon he will not be able to touch anything without it turning to RUSH HATRED of anything opposing his views. Just listen to Glenn Beck and all the Republican puppets.

I would hope the CONSERVATIVE within the REPUBLICAN party would have better sense than to be RUSHIFIED or GLENN EVILED. Evil and hatred is an ugly thing to see in AMERICANs.

Jasmine in Germany   November 1st, 2009 7:31 pm ET

Limbaugh insults his field ( makes money by entertaining ignorant people). There are many intelligent entertainers who work hard to contribute to a better world and we are very thankful for their voices. Limbaugh is not one of them. Someone ought to tell Limbaugh that fascism is out and he should retire before his followers get wise and decide to tar and feather him.

MJ   November 1st, 2009 7:31 pm ET

There is truth in what he said. Putting off supporting our Troops in Afghanistan is unconscionable. Jetting off to campaign and play golf shows his indifference to what it actually concerning a good majority of Americans – Afghanistan, the Economy, Jobs, & Government Run Health Care. Get a grip. We have serious problems that need attention.

timz   November 1st, 2009 7:28 pm ET

You know longer have to "wonder" about Limbaugh–he's made it abundantly clear that he cares nothing for this country or the principles it represents. Rush Limbaugh hates America.

case   November 1st, 2009 7:27 pm ET

What is interesting is the Limbaughs and the Becks don't give examples for their pure vitriol just "feeling and opinions." Any rational look at Obama's action over the last year will yields about the most moderate approach possible. - to the point that he angers actual liberals.

Jean 2   November 1st, 2009 7:27 pm ET

Are the rantings of Rush Lumbaugh taking the place of responsible journalism? That is the tragedy!! To add to the tragedy, a presumed legitimate news outlet (CNN) provides the stage and give value to his messages.

If this is the goal or the result of our educational system, our global and domestic afairs are DOOMED!

sandy   November 1st, 2009 7:27 pm ET

What's frightening to me is that any "news" folks would consider interviewing Limbaugh on anything!

travis   November 1st, 2009 7:26 pm ET

I just finished this book called Ignorance By Choice...sure does sound like Libaugh's motto and all of those who follow him. He is such a bad person to spread his lies and pass them off as fact and the people who follow his spew blindly wihtout fact checking his babble are equally as bad.

Sarah Berger   November 1st, 2009 7:26 pm ET

Why on earth is this news and who cares? Does CNN want to cover what Howard Stern or The Simpsons say about Obama and the democrats? Report more news and less fluff, please!!! CNN has become a joke.

james   November 1st, 2009 7:25 pm ET

maybe he is right. step back and look at all the big spending obama done and the control he wants on everything for goverment contol from banks too pay, healthcare to energy , internet to news on tv. why doesn't cnn go do some research. make a list a put it together for the people. unless their scared or kissing to much butt. the blame fox for being too far to the right, it maybe their too far left and can't do some honest reporting. lets see some segments on (what obama poloicies is doning too america) like they did being black or latino in america, do some realy stories on were america going from obama

Sam   November 1st, 2009 7:22 pm ET

Rush is an entertainer.. his ratings is his bread, butter.. he wil talk anything to get his rating higher.. and that's what he is doing now..

Collectively we need to ignore him, stay away listening to his radio show and make him a non-celebrity that he actually is.

After eight years of non-governance by Bush, the republicans have the audacity to raise such questions..

May God save America from these elements..

May God bless America

Limbaugh is a liberal   November 1st, 2009 7:21 pm ET

Just because Rush's great hero Dubya censored all coverage of the return of our fallen soldiers and never attended any of those events doesn't mean that NO president should ever honor our military.

Obama was a mistake. He is becoming a disaster.

Peter E   November 1st, 2009 7:19 pm ET

Limbaugh is a coward. He likes to dictate the GOP what to do and think, in spite of what their actual voting constituents think, but he has no balls to run for office himself!

Sharon   November 1st, 2009 7:19 pm ET

Coming from a draft dodger who would not fight for America; yet, he wants to wrap himself with the American flag! Really! And what gives him the right to question anyone's belief in America? Just another blow-hard, draft dodging divider.

Greg, MN   November 1st, 2009 7:18 pm ET

Rush is right. Everything he said is provocative, causes liberals to get mad, angry, and hateful. Thats why liberals can't stand him. They said all they wanted and still do about Bush. Obama is fair game. Rush is right. Constitutionally and intuitively. Obama and his buds are naeve at best and deliberately moving us to socialism at worst. Read the history of the toppling of the USSR, history reports itself, and this time its the USA. Read the history and you decide.

es   November 1st, 2009 7:16 pm ET

You say Rush represents the opinions of the majority of americans? Then you state that people who disagree with him should "debate facts?"

Can anyone really take that seriously?

Do you really think a majority of americans think Obama and Democrats do not love america?

Give me a break.

Don Gregory   November 1st, 2009 7:15 pm ET

Rush is good for the Democrats', Republicans' and Independents' bases. He's part of the illogical, inane, topsy-turvy kindling that keeps the politically active fired-up.

Had it not been for the Election 2000 debacle would he be a household name now? I highly doubt it. And he's the first to admitc t hat he's an entertainer, an actor. This means that he has to create on his airtime "musings" the persona that will "hook" the ears of his people. Laughing at his far right rabid rebel rousers he does so all the way to the bank.

Gary   November 1st, 2009 7:12 pm ET

I never thought I would witness the death of the Republican party. It's facinating to watch it crumble into a few fanatics in such a short period of time. It's kind of sad we really do need two credible parties to give people a choice.

SamSunny   November 1st, 2009 7:12 pm ET

Limbaugh loves this country so much he got deferred from having to serve her in uniform. A boil on his bottom. Limbaugh, like those he admires....Cheney.....are chicken hawks. Limbaugh is just a totally negative personality making bundles of money off of hate speech.

Dave - motorcycle enthusiast   November 1st, 2009 7:11 pm ET

The saddest thing, in my opinion, is how many people listen as devoted followers to RL. Some of those people work and live as my neighbors. Do they have the same hate that he spews? Do they cheer at the USA losing the Olympic bid as he did? Do they wish our president to fail as he does? Do they openly spew lie after lie to further their agenda as he does daily? Why do people choose to follow and adore people like Rush Limbaugh, Jimmy Jones, David Koresh, Charles Manson. All very popular and very powerful in their circles. All these men had or have that same hate, that same, I know ALL and those on the side of the opposition are idiots. I hope the followers of Rush fare better than those that have followed men like him to their very demise. But for Rush – not so much. I hope he gets what he reaps.

Ryan   November 1st, 2009 7:11 pm ET

Serve in the military before you questions other's patriotism you fat windbag.

I proudly voted for Obama,
– U.S. Navy

David in MO   November 1st, 2009 7:09 pm ET

400 million dollars to spread hate... interesting... says a lot about Republican principles. If he cared anyting for our country he'd agree to a voluntary salary cap, so that hundreds of millions of dollars could be spent on jobs and wages for others. Republican mantra: greed, greed, and more greed...

Nat, NYC   November 1st, 2009 7:09 pm ET

Very proud of you, Rush. You are a real patriot of this country.

Ryan   November 1st, 2009 7:08 pm ET

Well how's this Limbaugh, you're gonna question people's allegiance to this country when YOU'VE NEVER SERVED YOURS!?!?!?

My family has generations of former servicemen and women – and those of us still around voted for Obama so don't you DARE question our patriotism when people like my parents fought for you to have your right to free speech and you squander it on hateful hot-air.

You're a fat sickening insult to humankind and an embarrassment to America. Among other things too colourful to be posted here....

"Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel"

Limbaugh and his cronies are the ones attacking freedom and democracy. He wants a two tiered society with 1% on the top the rest enslaved in a never ending life of hopelessness. We are coming for you Mr. druggie Limbaugh and some of us won't let up until the likes of you are gone. And by the way, you have 20% support withing the general population. That makes you one of the most hated men in America.

AJC NY   November 1st, 2009 7:04 pm ET

I watched Rush's interview today. I must admit, I disagreed with nearly nothing he said. I honestly had to struggle to find one thing he said that was at variance with the facts. Opinions, are subjective things on which people may differ. Facts are objective things on which opinion bears no relevance. Yet, even on matters of opinion, I found myself agreeing wholeheartedly with Rush Limbaugh.

DawnL,CA   November 1st, 2009 7:03 pm ET

Of course we care about this country–you nutcase Limbaugh. Who didn't listen to the CIA about Bin Laden, or started 2 wars, allowed the economy to crash, with millions out of work? Who outed a CIA operative (Plame) & put her contacts in danger, then lied about it?
It wasn't the democrats or independents!!!
Are you really as crazy as you appear or is your hate-filled talk just a scam for money from the illiterate people who listen to you.
To CNN....please no more from the likes of Limbaugh or Palin..who cares about them. They are the ones who hate America by their actions.

Rush is a millionaire and a self-interested drug addict who can only criticize. He does not seek to inspire. Why he is anyone's role model or source of information is not only bizarre but disturbing. He's laughing at all of his ditto-head followers as he scoops up their money.

So when the rest of the journalistic community has people like Senators, Congress members, leaders of the Administration and regarded members of academia on their Sunday news programs Fox has Rushbo. And they wonder why the administration questions Fox's being legit journalism. What – Ted Nuggent not available for today?

Fair and Balance? FOX News and Rush Limbaugh: a partnership in fiction and hot air.

Paul H   November 1st, 2009 6:53 pm ET

I disagree with the way Limbaugh delivers his observations, and/or his opinions. But I have to tell you I do agree with his facts at the fact that this administration is pushing government into our lives at the speed of a jet.
They want control everything.
Everything from heath care to cap and trade. They are pushing and pulling their big government agenda into our lives. These two issues alone effect our everyday lives.
They go after the rich and powerful like they are all bad people. But ask yourself this: "Do you really think there are no bad politicians?"
People are people, if we concede our power to this government we will never give it back.
This economy will recover, it always has.

Rush is just picking up where he's buddy Cheney left off after VP Biden shut him down. Rush's hatred has backfired on him big time and he still doesn't get it, thank God for the NFL saying NO to Rush. No credibility in Rush, just drugs, hate and anger and he's too old to act like a child.

once upon a horse   November 1st, 2009 6:45 pm ET

so Rush makes 400 millon dollars huh? Well last I looked there were thousands of Americans out of work, some even laid off from the company that produces his radio show. I wonder how many of them lost their jobs so Rush can fatten his pockets. Unless he is one of these behind the scenes donors that doesn't want publicity, I have NEVER seen Rush Limbaugh do anything for anybody but Rush. And he claims the Dems and the president don't like America. Ball players, entertainers, and even some former presidents have come out to give back to the community..charities and all. Let me know when the next "Rush Limbaugh Charity Golf Open" is and perhaps I'll change my mind.

Robert Kunard   November 1st, 2009 5:53 pm ET

Yes Rush is an entertainer, however, before he "entertains" you and everyone who listens, he does an awful lot of research. What research have you done? I've done mine and I agree with some thing our President has done and disagree with others. The economy and how he is treating OUR Military is absolutely childish and immature

Tony   November 1st, 2009 5:53 pm ET

He did not serve and yet he questions the President's bestowing of honor on the returning serviceman and servicewomen.
He should be called to task every time he opens his mouth and inserts his foot.
I would love to debate him one on one without all his backup that he uses.

Donald Plumb   November 1st, 2009 5:49 pm ET

Rush represents Rush and the MAJORITY of Americans. He tells the truth and I challenge any of you libs to prove otherwise. Debate facts and stop name calling or is that truly all you are able to do?

chad   November 1st, 2009 5:48 pm ET

i watch part of that garbage.
rush said 20 or 30 percent of the country hates him.
he really is crazy.
if that were true he is the most popular figure in politics.
please.

nancy   November 1st, 2009 5:48 pm ET

He speaks the truth!

Ahh Republicans..   November 1st, 2009 5:47 pm ET

The fact that 40% of the country are putting their hopes & dreams into the combined brain power of Rush & Palin shows that one thing is for certain – our educational system could use further improvement.

In the 3rd quarter our economy is finally coming out of the slump left to us by Bush & Co, yet Rush wants to continue to cry wolf.

I'm glad that I live in a country where everyone has the freedom to speak, but i'm saddend that someone like Rush could gain such a large and ignoorant following.

Lisa Smith   November 1st, 2009 5:44 pm ET

Come on... Does anyone that can actually think for themselves care what Rush thinks? It's a sad day in our society when a blowhard like Limbaugh gets any amount of press at all. Please stop giving him a platform for which to preach his venom and lies. Ignorance breeds ignorance, and that's all he is succeeding in doing.

John from Ohio   November 1st, 2009 5:44 pm ET

Rush's sanity is definitely in question.

vmarsha   November 1st, 2009 5:44 pm ET

I dont think he ever stopped taking oxycontin. He's just a bully who is mad because the players of the NFL stood up to him and didn't let him have his way. He should know by now besides FOXNEWS and its radical supporters, the rest of the sane country doesn't like all that hate he spews out of that giant pie hole.

Linda in Texas   November 1st, 2009 5:43 pm ET

Rush is in it for the money and entertainment value. What really disturbs me is how bitter the republicans are and how they would rather sacrifice my country and my values for their own personal gains. As they continue to get publicity from the media, they think they represent my ideals but they do not. The big fat cats from the Bush era caused most of the mess we are in financially but they will not own up to it. I am an American and would die for my country if needed. I will fight against these radicals the same as any terrorist whether they are home grown or not.

Chris   November 1st, 2009 5:41 pm ET

Oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize that Rush had a degree in economics. Or any degree for that matter...

jts   November 1st, 2009 5:41 pm ET

I really don't know what to say.

If this man represents the hopes and aspirations of millions of Americans, then America is in a sad state of affairs. He is not open minded. He is niether fair nor balanced. He has very little to offer to move this country forward.

He's the kid in the back of the room who blows spitballs at the teacher's back while at the board. He get all of the attention he wants and amuses many of the other kids in class who think he's the greatest. But he disrupts the progress that real students are interested in making.

Adelita   November 1st, 2009 5:39 pm ET

I'd suggest ignoring him, but it's difficult to ignore someone who's foaming at the mouth.

Drug addled gas bag   November 1st, 2009 5:35 pm ET

Why is anything Rush said news? He is a well fed corporate buffoon that will say anything it is instructed to. Therefore this isn't news.

Brian Edmison   November 1st, 2009 5:33 pm ET

As stated, Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer. He's a worse comedian than Jay Leno and knows less about politics than him as well.
